Yes, you can check account history on ticketmaster site. It'll state how many TAPs have been removed for 'yearlytapsupdate'.

Or you've been hacked and someone’s nicked your TAPs. About 1000 TAPs seems right for a season of regular home & away attendance in the Championship. From now on it's only Premier League (new Brentford 🎣) TAPs that count.

For 2026-27, the previous years that contribute to the 5 year rolling total are:
2025-26
2024-25
2023-24
2022-23
...plus TAPs as they are accrued during the upcoming season.

I've lost 630, but gained 750 in the last year.

"You have -925 loyalty points deducted manually for yearlytapsupdate"

So I've gained 925 "loyalty points" (are they the same as Ticket Access Points btw?).

Brentford FC Monopoly Chance and Community Chest cards are going to be convoluted.
"Club double negative error in your favour. Collect 925 loyalty points (masquerading as TAPs)."

I haven't lost or gained any TAPs. I've lost something I never had: loyalty points.

They've had a whole season to update some strings FFS. A whole season.

At least the reason is a yearlytapsupdate

Is yearly/annual the new less/fewer?

Amateurs!!!!!

I am down 925 (NINE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE)

It's not *this* season, it's the season 5 years ago.

Losing 1,000 would make sense if you attended every game in our first PL season.
Ah, of course, so everybody's going ro be losing a ton of TAPs.

And what we should be doing is comparing our new total with what we had at the start of last season.

Lost 1050 , I went every game first season and have missed no more than 3 in any other season . Anyone care to explain as seems I have lost loads whilst missing 10 odd games in 5 years . 🤷‍♂️

The more games you went to 5 seasons ago, the more TAPs drop off your total.
🤷‍♂️

It doesn't matter though, you'll still have more than pretty much everyone.

so people who went to fewer games get deducted fewer points ? Yeah all seems fair 🤪

Er... yes

But people that went to more games in the past 4 seasons have more TAPs.

Do you think we should deduct 1,000 TAPs from someone with 10 TAPs??????

But people all went to 10 games in first season fare better ? Had a few so will check back in morning lol

Conversely, if you attended every game 5 years ago and none since, you won't have any TAPs any more.

Like I say had a few , sure it will make sense in the morning 👍

Minus 45 points, only four matches in the 2021/2022 season. Unfortunately, I'm not sure at the moment how many matches I'll be able to watch on Gtech next season.

I’ve lost 800 taps and, to be honest, I feel a bit numb about it.

All the hard-earned money I’ve spent over the seasons has effectively gone, while someone who hasn’t invested that same amount is now much closer to the position I travlled and paid for, with the same priority.

This will probably be the first year that I cut back on away games—not because I can’t afford to go but because the way this has been handled is putting me off the club.

In context 800 taps is probably an estimated 2000£ in travel and tickets. Maybe even slightly more .

Interesting.

Can you explain why you think that attending games 5-10 years ago puts you ahead of someone that had attended more games than you in the last 4 seasons?

If you can get a ticket for every game you want to go to (which is almost certain) why does your TAP number matter? It is only a number after all.

So the majority of the money you spent wasfor TAPs!? That’s different.

I do think the club could have done with an email with an explanation illustration in advance so everyone could reacquaint themselves with a decision taken over a year ago and understand the mechanics behind it and how that will work In practice.

We think that would be fair.

They’ve even kept a lifetime TAPs total for the anoraks who it does matter to! 🎣

Indeed, which makes you wonder why they went to the bother of changing the system in the first place.

Because newer fans had to wait until later tranches so couldnt guarantee travel and accommodation etc. even if some with high TAPs never went to away games

Because some people would never catch up in points if they didn’t.
It was maybe sensible to do something, but imo 5 years is too short a period and relative Jonny come latelys, who’ve just done lots more in the PL, start replacing those less “on a mission” to catch up but who’ve supported well for a much longer time.
It’s a double edged sword. It’ll benefit some (probably mostly the youth). It’ll disadvantage the older long-time supporter.
I quite liked our away fan demographic of experienced codgers. Not sure it’ll be as appealing as it shifts more and more towards a BYE crowd.

I suppose also that youth replacement factor is potentially more questionable if you consider that a spritely 12-17 year old might have done lots of games on dad’s chequebook, at discounted prices, and never paid for anything themselves.
Turns 18 and replaces someone who’s forked out £2k/season following the Bees but been to a few less games each season (I suspect a lot more than £2k really as I reckon an away day is comfortably an average of £200 including mandatory 🍻).

There are still people in the lower tranches, so nothing has changed there beyond the faces, potentially.
