Team for Basingstoke

Lee
Logan, Eger, Legge, Adams
Saunders, Reeves, O'Connor, McGinn
Alexander, Grella

Subs: Devlin, Woodman, Llera, Diagourgaga, Weston, Donaldson, Bean

Some rotation. Would like to see a bit more of Reeves. Couple probably need a rest.

I'm not sure Adams or Llera will be allowed to play. I think Dave needs game time so would put him next to O'Connor.

I'd go with that, though probably swap Dave with Kevin...

Similar to yesterday I reckon. So:

Lee.
Logan, Llera, Eger, Woodman.
McGinn, Bean, Diagouraga, Weston.
Grella, Alexander.

Subs: Devlin, O'Connor, Legge, Saunders, Donaldson, Reeves, Adams.

I like Wood but I don't think he's got the same quality as Saunders or McGinn, with Weston as well he's got a tough ask to force his way into the team.

Team for Basingstoke

If Douglas is suspended and we can't play Llera or Adams I'd go for:
Lee
Logan Legge Eger Woodman
Saunders Dave Reeves McGinn
Alexander Grella

Subs: Devlin, Kev, Spillane, Wood, Bean, Weston, Donaldson

Don't think we need to see the following as we have a hectic league programme coming up - Dave, Douglas, Saunders, Alexander. Not sure if Llera can play, but Leon needs game time anyway. I'd go attacking on the full backs, but giving the back 4 some support with KOC and Wood in midfield.

I'd play Donaldson to hopefully get a few goals and some confidence back into him.

Lee
Logan Legge Eger Adams
McGinn Reeves O'Connor Wood
Grella Donaldson

Subs - Keeper, Bean, Weston, Alexander, Woodman, Saunders, Forrester (what are the chances!!)

I think we need a settled team now ,sticking to the same-ish formation and tactics .I think Uwe must realise by now that we cant be the third tier Man City who have the capacity to field two completely separate teams . Use subs wisely on Sat will do ,5 or 7 subs allowed ?

If we had a left back that started with L I would pick him.

Who cares this is a tin pot trophy I would rather we were out off it... Last thing we need is a cup run when pushing for promotion

Judging by last night's attendance, there are plenty who care. That aside, do you not think that the team will have benefitted from yesterday's performance ?

Team for Basingstoke

I want to see Alexander Grella pairing up front to see how they do,even as 2 strikers would be nice.Grella deserves it and they havnt been paired together, would be interesting

i agree with hullbee.I have no time for the jpt.But it was a great attendance for this stage of it and though i think its generally a distraction, gets in the way of the league, but scorelines like that can only be a good confidence boost and much needed with the feel around home games so far this season

Team for Basingstoke

The previous two rounds both came after losses, and both acted as confidence boosters before our next league outing, given there's less pressure in the JPT.

The JPT has done nothing bad for us so far this season, the further we can get the better imo. A Wembley final could potentially serve up as a useful bit of preperation for a Play-Off final at the same stadium.

Bit of word association:
Woodman = Lumberjack
Adams = Beevers = dams = Logs

ok I know its late .....

Resign Ryan L Dickson preferably

I thought we were talking about the FA Cup - if you think thats tin pot, suggest you go to Hull !

Team for Basingstoke

I don't believe it!! How can a performance like that be anything but EXCELLENT - for the Team. the Club, the Fans and the Manager.

Whatever the Competition, the prospect of a 'UWE TEAM' at Wembley is VERY mouthwatering!!

Spot on, let's keep the mmtm going with not too many changes. However, might be a good idea to start with Clayton in the hope that he'll get some goals.

No doubt they have benefited in the short term from a confidence boost. However long term I think we will suffer playing all these extra games and there is a significant risk we will run out of steam before the final hurdle.... Last fa cup run cost us promotion both because we ran out of legs and because it highlight how good dj was on a national level the type if exposure he would not have got in league one alone

Legge will get 45-60 minutes to get match fit.
Didn't hear Oyeleke bit he did say Marney? Or is that a nickname for him?

I've watched Emanuel (Manny) Oyeleke for two seasons now and think he is a better prospect than Reeves et al, I'd give him a runout in this match,

Can you describe him please - size, pace, position, type of player, strengths.... cheers.

5'1 - pretty fast considering the missing leg - goalkeeper or right wing (both if playing rush) - effeminate - Latin American history in the 19th century.

I'd give him a go. :sorted:

With respect, this is utter nonsense. We have a decent size squad, although ravaged by injuries many are returning and need game time anyway. Players want to play and players like to win; winning is a habit. Cup (and Trophy) matches often give an opportunity to experiment, especially with the 5-sub rule back in the league. Players should always feel they are in the shop window and I doubt that scouts spend much time in front of the TV. We didn't fail to gain promotion because the squad ran out of legs - winners find the energy to go on - it was more to do with poor tactics.

Anyway, un-budgeted income is a lifeline to the club and a proportion may trickle down to the playing budget for a last-gasp push. Regardless of MB's funding, BFC is not a rich club.

Spot on. The feel good factor was amazing on tues and on here on wednesday.

Totaly agree and when the january window opens if we are still in both cups we have the opportunity to strengthen.

Douglas is suspended and don't think Llera is allowed to play.

Even if Llera could play I would start Eger & Legge as Llera is at some point going to go back to Blackpool and it would be good for them to have some playing time together to start building up an understanding.

Uwe is taking 'both' cup games seriously and wants to go as far as we possibly can... I hear again on good authority that Saturday's side will be another very strong selection.

Attacking midfielder, eye for goal, good pace, and not small but robust. Good ball skills and an incredible work rate but then I'm no professional football manager

-------------Lake--------Ogunbote----------------

---Sam-Yorke---------------------------Warner---

--------------------McAuley-----------------------

---------------------Sills----------------------------

Subs: Morris, Pratt, Eagle, Gondwe Gradwell.

Captain Ross Adams is still recovering from a broken leg, whilst Wes Daly misses out after picking up his 5th yellow card of the season in the last round against Staines. David Pratt, Shaun McAuley and 2006 Cup hero Matt Warner should shake off knocks from the Dorcehster defear to play, whilst top scorer Delano Sam-Yorke has recovered from a back injury and with the current injury problems, will most likely start.

Taylor Parmenter returns to QPR after his one month loan expired, although manager Frank Gray may look to extend Taylor's loan or bring in another addition.

Danger men:

Tim Sills - Football League experience in abundance, the forward man took a while t get going but is now an integral part of the line-up.

Delano Sam-Yorke - Pacey and skillful, the forward/wide man will look to cause Brentford's defenders problems during the game and add to his already goal tally for the season.

Whoever your right-winger is will probably run rings around the left-back Toby Little, the weak link in the side.

May the best team win. Up the Town!
