The key for me is that the understanding between Fernandez and his back 3 CB's improves quickly.

Three CB's and it will need to be Goode and not Zanka, who is is likely to be well below parr with his new addition. Presumably Ajer is out, so banking on Ethan to be back to his best and he's recovering from injury.

The loss of Raya is huge, but IMO the loss of Janelt in recent weeks has had a big impact as well.

We don’t have the wingers or full backs to play it. Need Wissa back and a specialist right back in January to make it work. Zanka is a better player than Roerslev, Canos is miles better as a wing back than as a winger, and the whole reason we scrapped 4-3-3 last year was because we couldn’t get the results once Josh got injured, and he’s still out.

It is good. From the reports I read about the Burnley result was that it was actually the first result this season we deserved to lose. The other 9 games we have been more than competitive and unlucky with the other three losses. Let’s have faith and believe whatever team TF selects on Saturday will be enough to win.

What has destroyed Norwich so far is movement and pace; a bit like Burnley they'd be very happy if we go down the route of long balls into their centre halves who as they showed in the championship like that type of defending.

Fosu for whatever reason is unlikely to go from unused substitute to starting and we're unsure if Wissa will be fit. I'd play Canos, Mbeumo and Toney as the front three, Norgaard, Oneyka and Jensen (Vitaly probably not ready to start) and Roerslev, Pinnock, Pontus and Rico at the back. I think this team would cause Norwich all sorts of problems.

Those saying that seem to have forgotten we had a long unbeaten run before that. The problem with 433 last season wasn’t the loss of JDS, it was the loss of Henry. That meant MBS having to deputise and while he worked hard and improved a lot (I think the experience will make him a much better CB in the mould of Ajer), we lost the attacking threat and balance we had when one FB going forward meant the other tucked in as a third CB (Dalsgaard) or as a highly mobile sweeper (Henry). JDS would work equally well in 352 as in 433. Possibly even better.

Going to 3CBs was not an inevitable no-brainer of a decision just because it worked so spectacularly first game it was tried away at Preston. It is easy to forget it was neutralised against Cardiff and Millwall.

I think that’s harsh on Roerslev and not an opinion shared by the club.

Agreed! Mbeumo has been transformed playing as a 2nd striker. Would not play him as a winger again.

Hopefully, Fernandez will have learned a lot/been coached a lot about his mistake in not coming out for the 2nd goal at Burnley, and so won’t repeat that.

Plus, Raya must be around to give him a lot of advice/encouragement.

Main thing for Fernandez is to be very decisive, and command the penalty area and beyond to inspire confidence in our defence players.

I think that’s harsh on Roerslev and not an opinion shared by the club.

His best position is in a 5 and he’s been benched all season by a winger, and he’s never impressed in a 4. Would be very surprised if anyone at the club thinks he’s PL quality based on 10 starts as a wing back in the Championship.

Looking at the team we started with against Leicester where we were so unlucky , Vitaly in makes us stronger on paper ??

Seems less of a problem with the wing backs.. I’m no tactical genius, but our solution was to go to a back 3. I’ve seen nothing to suggest we should ditch this. COYR.
