Team vs QPR
He has asked to play on the wing, this wingman role is his choice.
And it is really going very well for him.

... seems fair that perhaps Watkins should get a chance in his more favoured central position...
Perhaps he should play wide attack on the left?He has asked to play on the wing, this wingman role is his choice.
Oh fair enough, I assumed as he played centrally for Exeter quite often that that was his 'main' position and we just put him out left earlier in the season out of necessity.Perhaps he should play wide attack on the left?

Anyway, it won't happen but I'd go for a radical approach. It seems that Holloway generally sets up to press and, given his defensive constraints, I'd guess that's what he'll do to protect his makeshift back line. He's already mentioned that our centre backs pass between them to retain the ball and that Woods is a key player in this tactic, so he'll fill the space between the centre backs and man-mark Woods. A number of teams have done this, to greater or lesser effect, so I would drop him to the bench and play a central 3 of Mokotjo, McEachran and Yennaris, who can rotate with a lot of mobility, with one detailed to mark Luongo. That would negate the man-marking tactic, confuse the opposition and allow us to get balls into forward space! I'd guess Smith will make minimal changes, if at all, to the side that performed poorly in the last two games.
If you believe Ollie in GWL, then he's only got 3 fit defenders & none of them are CBs. Hopefully, he's getting his excuses lined up in advance to explain away another heavy defeat to us...
No doubt a couple of them will miraculously recover in time for Monday night, but it might allow DS to tinker a bit more than he would normally, after a poor performance last Tuesday.
For me, Canos has done enough to warrant a start, & his energy & enthusiasm should draw extra derby fouls. This would allow us a sort of one-and-a-half up front (Maupay/Vibe + Watkins) against a possibly makeshift defence. We could strike early & be done & dusted just like our last visit.
(Anyway, that's how I dreamt it last night....)
It seems like QPR have a bit of an injury crisis at the back. Hall, Lynch, Onuoha, Perch, Caulker and Furlong’s injuries mean that QPR are without six defenders for Monday’s game.
Jordan Cousins is also a doubt for the match
Australian international Massimo Luongo has been passed fit
Bentley
Clarke - Egan - Bjelland - Ilias
Woods - Yennaris - Sawyers
Canos - Vibe - Watkins
Will probably mean that replacements come in and have the games of their lives coz it's Brentford innit.
