Teams we hate

I mentioned to a mate yesterday that we are playing Forest this weekend and added….

“We hate them so I hope we flog them 5-0 to accelerate their descent into the Championship. We also hate Leeds. Oh and of course Fulham and QPR”.

He looked at me bemused and said “Really? Four teams? I didn’t realise that you lot were so bitter and twisted!”

I tried to explain the history behind the hate but he obviously wasn’t interested so we changed the subject. Lol

Are we bitter and twisted in our hatred? There’s probably more than one reason why we despise these sh*thouse teams but should we just move on other than QPR (1967) and Fulham (tw*ts)?

I’m prepared to forgive Leeds for “Mind the gap Thomas Frank” - not sure about Forest though - they are such a big club lol

Teams we hate

It feels like moments in time with the likes of Forest and Leeds. I think when teams like Forest and Leeds go down again in the next couple of seasons we may not play them again for a while. :)
I had no idea how many of our fans had no time for Sheff Wed until we played them, I always thought we had a joint comradery with them but I think I was wrong.

The only club I feel we SHOULD properly hate is QPR . Fulham are ****s but they never tried to delete us as a club.

Teams we hate

Birmingham City. Scummiest fans and horrible city that seems to contribute nothing to the country.

QPR obvs

Leeds and Forest for their big club delusions and “teams like Brentford” mentality. Forest have sunk even lower (if that were possible) under marianakis too

Other than Shepherds Bush, whom we have every historical right to continue hating, plus the few from the past where there were regular incidents between fans (Watford; Southend; Aldershot; etc) which are generational, I think the ones I hate are those who were famous in the past and who’s somehow think that have some legacy entitlement to be considered ‘bigger’ clubs than the likes of us, B&HA and AFCB, etc.

It’s as if winning a cup (or not) in now-distant history and still having a large diaspora empowers them to think they’re superior…

… so it’s clubs with deluded fans who think we have no place in today’s Premier League that I particularly despise – because they despise us for being better and, today, more successful than us. We all know who they are: clears throat and spits!

It's not the fans I dislike, it's some of the dodgy owners bank rolling their 'toy' teams. Thank goodness our owner is both decent and so effective. For my generation it's also hard to ever forgive QPR.

The 2 clubs in question are identified by serial dubious ownership but they do have more than their fair share of entitled fans.

Speaking with fans of the acknowledged big clubs, many are genuinely interested in us and how the Club operates, some express admiration. Those two in particular just seem genuinely obnoxious!

My son was having a full on emotional meltdown the other day - in the manner that six year old boys have these meltdowns.

In between sobs he shouted at his mother "I hate you! I hate you so much! I even hate you more than I hate Leeds United!" Didn't help his mood when we burst into laughter!

Taught him well...

Fantastic

QPR tried to close our club in 1967 and I will remember it even when I can't remember what I've gone upstairs to look for. I don't even hate QPR supporters unless they were involved in 1967.

Please close thread.
It wasn't QPR supporters who tried to close us down. I know lots who knew nothing about this and opposed the whole thing. It was their chairman, Jim Gregory along with our chairman, Jack Dunnett, who were behind this and the guilt should be equally appled. QPR and Fulham are local rivals, as are Chelsea now.

Teams we hate

All of the above to various degrees but for me it's Chelsea and Man U, Chelsea for the sheer arrogance during the they bought the lot years and from changing so far away from what was once a genuine working class football club (1980s under Ken Bates)with noisy passionate fans to the self entitled new breed of "fans" influencers, you tubers, nouveau rich etc sitting there in a silent soulless stadium with current owners who sum up everything wrong with modern football.

Man U because of cockney reds nothing more needs to be said

Amazing how few votes for Luton there are. 10 years ago they'd have been top of my list outside of QPR and Fulham but no longer. Clearly their stint in the lower leagues, coupled with us trouncing them a few times since (7-0 & 5-1), has softened us all!

For me it's QPR, Fulham, Forest, I that order. Loads of others I dislike too, but those are the ones I really hate.

Teams we hate

Teams we hate

I agree with the others, but Port Vale?

It would be easy for me to say who I don't hate.

Teams we hate

Hate is such a strong term, as opposed to rivalry.

We have rivals, and that is part and parcel of sport, but hate...there is only one...

Shepherds Bush...and there are 67 reasons why!

All else are rivals, who without, would make the game less fun!

QPR haven't been rivals for five long years now.

Putney, Chelsea, Notts Forest are the clubs I dislike the most. Manyoo and Leeds for comedy value.

But were any QPR supporters "involved" in 1967? Wasn't it just a shabby little plot between two money-grabbing sh1theads, Gregory and Dunnett, which was seen off by Bees fans? I don't imagine genuine R's fans were that much more pleased at the prospect of moving to GP to become "West London Rangers" (or somesuch), than Bees fans.

Isn't it like "blaming" Bees fans for Noades' plan to move BFC to Woking etc? That is, if he had been able to get away with it, he'd have done so regardless of what the club's fans felt?

P.S. Before anyone thinks I'm blithely sticking up for QPR fans, I am one of those who's long believed that QPR are BFC's traditional rivals, not Fulham. And there isn't any lack for genuine reasons for taking the p1ss out of them.

I don't think the fans were involved, no, but we are talking about "teams we hate" not just fanbases. As I think you are the poster you quoted are already saying.
QPR were the "up and coming" club in that era (like Fulham in the late 90s/early 00s) and the fans would have enjoyed that... I'm sure some were pr!cks about their success at the time. But surely that's secondary to 1967 and all that.

We all know who Micheal Kayode
HATES......

Teams we hate

I don't exactly hate, more get mildly irritated by, the modern trend of confusing "hate" (verb) with "hatred" (noun), in a "less versus fewer" kind of way.

That is all.

Teams we hate

West London is a bit of a strange one football rivalry wise. Brentford see QPR or Fulham (or both) as rivals but they have both traditionally claimed that the Bees are irrelevant to them and Chelsea are their true rivals. Whilst Chelsea see QPR & Fulham as irrelevant and claim that Spurs are their biggest rivals and obviously their rivalry is with Arsenal.

There appears to be a lot of unrequited hate in West London!

Teams we hate

I live in a city that has real hatred, suffocating loathing and an evil that infects the daily life of this place (and thats just the Jags and the Spiders).

There is a tangiable difference between hatred and rivalry, when you live in it you know.

Teams we hate

I suspect many have forgiven Yeovil, and Doncaster. Maybe it helps that they only set us back a year... and we literally never played them again.
True.
They were both very ungracious in victory though!!! 🤬
And I'll never forget the drive I had home down the M3/A303 in amongst their fans after the Yeovil defeat.......🙁
So, for me, they're on the list!!!

Teams we hate

My all time (since 1990 when I first started going to games) most hated:

1.QPR
2. Fulham
3. Birmingham
4. Gillingham
5. Reading

My current most hated:

1. QPR
2. Forest
3. Fulham
4. Leeds
5. Arsenal

Teams we hate

Slightly random but I add any team that escapes relegation or secures promotion on our pitch by beating us and then celebrating like madmen

Totally agree with this.
My dad taught me all about our history with QPR and why we have a valid reason to dislike them, but the rest is just pantomime banter, and "Moments in time" sums it up very well for me.
