If win money playing sports then it is taxable.
I meant if I win the pga at Wentworth as a non professional I earn nothing… I can’t imagine Shannon has not been taking home prize money so how did she qualify for this

I dont know this. But does she have a tour card at the moment?

If you earn nothing then you pay nothing. If you earn prize money then you pay tax. No matter how she "qualified"

Fallon Sherrock beats Luke Littler on Netflix to win £501,000!
The fix is in - she shouldn't be competing when it is supposed to be amateurs only as she is a professional by trade albeit without a PDC tour card. I have nothing against her but not exactly what the point of the programme was supposed to be.

And she is millionaire before last night. Good luck to her, not her fault the prgramme was a farce.

I completely forgot this was on after hearing the ads for weeks on TalkSPORT! Did any amature win besides Sherrock?
It was effectively "winner takes all" so no other amateurs beat Littler. There were five others due to go on after her but didn't get a game because she won. I reckon they should have had Farron go last in the order with her pedigree...

Played 4 ante post bets for the worlds at big prices. Archie Self at 300/1, Luke Woodhouse at 150/1, Henry Coates at 300/1 and Tommy Morris at 800/1. Modus Darts players other than Woodhouse and think the bookies have them far too big of a price. Plan would be to get through a few rounds and then assess the cash outs for them

Coates hasn’t qualified yet and Archie Self is miles off? Very good price for Woodhouse and Morris though.

The Darts

She’s never had a tour card. Whether she’s a professional is another question but I do know she queued to “audition” like everyone else.
I was also surprised to see she was involved. She's never had a tour card but she won games at the 2020 world championship and played as a guest at the Premier league. It feels a bit farcical to badge someone with that pedigree as a plucky amateur, which was the hook for the contest.

Well done to her for taking the opportunity anyway. The same prize money as winning the worlds in 2025 (actually £1,000 more), all for one leg of darts - mad.
