Starting a new thread as the other one is tucked away in the gambling forum.

The Premier League line-up certainly seems to have stirred up a hornet’s nest. I know it’s effectively a travelling exhibition but Humphries, Noppert and to a lesser extent Cullen can all count themselves very unlucky.

Very dubious call to by DVDB and Dobey in there. If the Masters is now the qualifier for the PL they should make it official.

A cynic might suggest that Dobey in to boost the crowd when/if the tour goes to the north east?

Yep, although the Masters seem to have become an unofficial PL qualifier.

Van Den Bergh definitely wouldn’t be there if he wasn’t another mainland European.

She's struggled recently actually! Beau Greaves is miles ahead of her now and given her age could one day win the big one at the ally pally!

Yep. Sherrock has really struggled for consistency recently. If she can have her Jensen moment and make those infrequent excellent performances more regular, she’ll be flying again.

Greaves is phenomenal. Blasting through players like Phil Taylor used to.

Littler is frightening. God knows how the rest of the field will keep up with him, only Humphries stands a chance at the moment.

Aside from that what a ridiculous decision it was to shoehorn Peter Wright back into the PL for nothing other than marketing reasons. I’d be surprised if he wins a night and it’s likely to be the end of his career as a top player.

Can someone that knows on here please explain why at the Dutch Masters if it's 5-5 then whomever wins the very normal 6th leg wins. This means that whomever throws first has a massive advantage. I would have thought at (e.g.) 1501 start might be fairer for the deciding leg

That’s the rules as set out at the start of the competition that’s why winning the throw at the start is so important

It’s basically who hits the bull first. Obviously if one player does it at the first attempt their opponent gets a go as well.

It did used to take place on stage but they run to tighter schedules now with the walk-ons etc so it’s essentially been dropped to the practice room to cram in more TV advertising.

Anyway, after the Premier League darts tonight the, er, Darts Premier League kicks off tomorrow including a Littler-Humphries match.

Then at the weekend we have the Masters which I doubt any of the seven competing PL players (Littler’s not in it) will be arsed about

I don’t think he does. He’s been rubbish for a year and was only included in the PL because the ‘Sky Sports crowd’ expects to see the guy with the funny hair and stupid dance. The bloke’s a prize bellend, IMO.

On another note, the booing and whistling of Luke Humphries last night was absolutely pathetic.

Although the BDO became a laughing stock, there were elements at Frimley Green in particular that were way superior, especially the crowd.

You would never get a player being booed WHILE throwing.

Then the constant “Boring, boring tables” and “Kolo/Yaya Touré”. Give me a break.

No money in a dry respectable crowd hence why BDO ceased

Hmmm, having been to Frimley Green on three occasions, “dry” is not a word I would have used.

However, they generally gave “the best of order” and those tired old chants didn’t exist. I know which I prefer.

Delighted for Bunting.

If it wasn’t for a tweak to the calendar we would’ve had him in the PL instead of having to watch Wright throw 83 averages for 16 weeks

He was knocked out of the second Players Championship today by Polish bus driver who lives in Cork.

You won’t see that on SSN.

The UK Open - the FA Cup of darts - got underway at Minehead today. Best tournament in the calendar in my view.

Seeds enter in round 4 and the big guns largely kept apart tonight with Michael Smith v Joe Cullen and Littler v Wade the standouts.

The only tournament with an open draw at the end of each round
