The Marcus Bean thread
Brentford will miss him for his commitment, starting or coming off the bench, though I suppose Kev will be back from injury and provides something similar. Still, I think Rosler will regret releasing him.
From Bean's opinion, he probably was treated badly, having featured in a lot of games this year
From the clubs perspective, it makes more sense, if we are seeking a younger more effective "Bean" - bring it on
Moribee you are seriously testing my patience.
You need to explain to me why. Feel my patience has been tested by an ethic of some to constantly denigrate players on here in their work place. Some of the stuff that has been written would not be acceptable in the writers work places nor would they be happy about it,tho maybe some of their work performances fall short and better is needed. It would not be nice to plaster it all over a web site. Sorry if this view offends and I emphasise the word some. It's not up to us who plays and who is got rid of even if we are all football managers at hearts. Some need to try and wear boot on other foot. Promotion three years ago was precious and emotional and to see what we celebrated deemed as being surplus in such a short space of time and denigrated by some makes me wonder why we bother.
It is somewhat surprising that you can't see the difference between the very Public workplace of a Professional footballer operating in the entertainment industry and a typical supporters workplace. Anyone who chooses a career that puts their performances in the public spotlight (and gets well paid for it too) has to expect that scrutiny of their performances by the public (in this case supporters) will happen. The whole reason that they have the job they have is because people like you and me pay to come and watch them. Same goes for actors of stage and screen, politicians, musicians, etc, in fact anyone whos work puts them in the public eye.
If you really cannot see that part of the purpose of a supporters messageboard is to debate the pros and cons of various aspects of the club including players performances then maybe you should cut yourself adrift from the messageboard altogether because it isn't going to change just because you protest about it 50 times a day.
I'm quite glad to hear that your patience is being tested because at least you now know how the rest of us feel reading your repetitive posts.

Working in public customer service industry my job is not that much different apart from say of course. I would not expect it to be discussed in a public forum in a derogatory way without means of reply, nor would you. I find you extremely rude, that's your burden to carry but as most of you on here stick together it probably doesn't feel a burden.
Can't see what your gripe is,I have as much enthusiasm to give Bean or Wood a farewell open top bus ride through brentford high street as l have to pouring a bucket of sh*te over the heads of Charlie or Alexander.Players come and go,fans stay.
If you really think there is not much difference between someone working in a service industry and someone who works in front of thousands of people in the entertainment industry then there is little point in even discussing it with you.
I think that is part of the problem. You are so entrenched in your own views that you do not listen to any alternative arguments and consider whether they are valid.
Footballers will always have their performances analysed on TV, in the press, on supporters messageboards and at the game itself. It is part of what makes the football industry go round and the internet has merely provided another means for the debate to take place.
You need to just accept that. If that is being rude then you need to get a thicker skin. As for people sticking together, I think you mean people who don't agree with you. That is plain arrogance from you and your last sentence which in itself is rudeness personified is hypocritical in the extreme.
Have a think about it and consider whether just occasionally other peoples opinions might have some value !

Ones life and knowledge is shaped by others opinions,it's how we learn to have our own.
I dont know if these are your own words or picked up from some other source but its a really good quote!
I think Marcus has been a really great servant of the club. Always gave 100%, great relationship with fans. Some lack of technique but his effort made up for it. Really sorry to see him go but if we want to move on we cannot afford nostalgia. Look at how QPR treated Warnock, thought it was shameful but Sparky will probably keep them up( worst luck! )
Players at clubs are far more transient these days and loyalty is not often seen as as a virtue any longer at any workplace. cant say that I like it but its something that we have to live with in the modern world. The important thing is the club and its fans which hopefully are a bit more permanent and less fickle.
yes we can and I do hope he finds happinessMoribee I applaud your defence even if I disagree with it. Like you I have worked for many years in a service industry and whilst I have not had to put up with personal abuse on a message board my company, and by imication me have Bren slated ( royal bank of Scotland!!)
Footballers however live and die in a very public arena for which they are paid substantial funds in part because they will get grief or become unemployed. The very structure of our media is dependent upon being able to discuss the merits or otherwise if players and teams. We may not always agree but u bet most if us read the back pages of the papers and tune our radios to sports programs if not sport would be very sterile
Marcus and others were a significant part if our promotion from the bottom league, they are probably not good enough to see us to promotion to a higher league or don't fit into the managers plans. They are all fully aware if their own strengths and weaknesses and as such expect to be moved from club to club
Whether the decision to let them go is correct or not is the point of this debate but I would imagine even Marcus does not feel let down as he knew that come this summer his contract was up and realistically he was not the managers first choice
Can we accept he was not treated badly, look back on the good times and wish him well??
Stevenage Boro fan here, rumnours are we have been linked with him as reported by our local press..

Just realised when my daughter was very little and used to cry at night I used to walk around trying to comfort her. Turned out I dont know the words to many songs so "We all dream of a team of marcus beans" was a regular feature of her early months. Lucky girl.
Good luck Marcus, Top Man.
You would be looking a one surprised Boro fan if we get into the championship next year, i do hope i am wrong but, well i just cant bring myself that far along yet.
.
Maybe next season you could substitute him with Harlee Dean.
No offence to Stevenage, but I think we would prefer one of the moneybags clubs to get promoted, just so they aren't in League 1 with us next season.
Very good interveiw with Marcus here. He's too good a player to be without a club for long.
Best of luck for your future Marcus.
