The Next Step???

The Next Step???

My team would be

GK - Nelson\Abbey roatate them

RB - O'Connor

LB - Charles

CB - Frampton\Heywood

CB - Osborne

RM - Ide

LM - Tillen\Keith

CM - Mousinho

CM - Carder-Andrews

ST - Owusu (C)

ST - Kuffour\Peters

Having 2 decent strikers upfront who can actually score might bring out the confidence in the younger players more. Who knows, if we do well for the rest of the season we might keep one of Kuffour or Owusu.

Nelson's out of contract and IMO he's cack...................

Abbey's out of contract but i think he would sign to stay on as he's been around a few clubs and stability and a contract offer might keep him here.

Owusu and Kuffour are both out of contract and IMO would be out of BFC's range when renegotiating contracts. Unless Owusu takes a big pay cut and Kuffour stays on probably what he's getting now.............but i can't really see either staying.
Peters hasn't really done anything and i don't think he deserves a contract from BFC for next year..................
So your 'team' for next season has been cut by at least 4 players already.

The Next Step???

That team is awful :(

:imwith: I'd be a bit pissed off if that was all I was getting for my season ticket. Might even request a refund if I'm expected to watch reserves / youth. :(

The Next Step???

What would happen if that happened? How would you be able to trial that many, most of whom would not have played above sunday park football? :fishing:

It would be arranged over, say, 1 week for about 8 hours a day? :fishing:

Get as many good coaches to work for BFC (advisory capacity) for that week and see what happens!

It wont take long to see through the malingerers!:sorted:

The Next Step???

FFS, that really is utter bollox.

I'd like someone to tell me exactly what Greg brings to the party but to suggest what you've just suggested is laughable.

Yes noades came and he left the club in a complete state but when he came we did well, today i was looking at an old programme from 1999/2000 and if given the chance i would definetely change our squad now for our squad then.

we had lloyd, Powell, mahon, heridrickson(i can't spell),anderson(great player till his injuries and drug addiction), scott patridge, paul evans (his goal against burnley was the best of all time), rowlands ( yeah o.k he was a right ****** but he played good football.

Under noades we went up a division and under Dyke we are almost certainly going to go down.

Noades didn't appoint the worlds worst manager. What do you think were Dyke's reasons 4 appointing Leroy? Dave basset lives in my area and i've talked to him a couple of times. Apparentley Dyke didn't even interview anyone else, he just thought the area around brentford is mainly an ethical community so lets appoint a coloured manager.

Noades was an arsehole but he knew what he was doing when it came to football, Dyke he doesn't have a clue(well i am pleased that the new cheif excecutive seems to know what he's doing)Dyke doesn't have a clue what he's doing (as well as most of the board), you need a powerful, intelligent man who knows how to run a football club at the helm not some old bbc chairman. Leroy should never have been appointed and if they had sacked him 5 weeks earlier then we probably wouldn't be in this mess. You could tell that Leroy hadn't a clue just by watching the game on the pitch and he should have been sacked.

The thing which noades is going to be known 4 is how he mucked up the club financially but i tell you now going down to league 2 is going to be much worse. Our attendances will fall, the money coming into our club will fall and now that we're going down, what about lionel road?well forget it, now thanks to Dyke and that **** Leroy we will never be in a new stadium, our club is on a downward spiral and the only way to get out of it is to get rid of that idiot Dyke, for good, then we can rebuild our team and get back up to league 1 and stay there with a chairman who actually knows what he's doing

The Next Step???

I thought Carder-Andrews was meant to be a talent.

I'd personally want to see Charles, Carder-Andrews, Ide, Osborne, Peters, Mousinho and Tillen (Left wing) start the rest of the games this season. The loan signings have made no real difference to results and there is no point what so ever using them if they're not here next season. Let these young players play with no pressure on their back or expectation against league one teams this season and hopefully they will find it much easier next season. If this happens it will then be our responisibilty as supporters to really get behind them, give them a chance and not get on their backs. We can build their confidence with encouragement.

Hopefully Osborne will be put at Centre back alongside Frampton or Heywood with Charles at left back and O'Connor right back.

Give Owusu the captains armband for the rest of the season and let him lead our youngsters like the true role model he is :sorted:

I like your thinking, except at the end of the season offer frampton and o'connor to allen it's where they want to be,they've had no heart this season. O'connor been a crap captain and frampton, well where do i start?
Owusu would really lift the players as he is loved by the fans, but i think shiperley would be the perfect captain,he's always getting their heads up and telling them to keep going

The Next Step???

How about Mr Talbot for manager, he was a true leader from midfield and didn't take s**t from anyone. I remember when he came into the crowd to square up with someone in the Paddock lol

On another thread you ask for an experienced manager.

Confusing hey!

My very first choice would be Paul Ince :)

Then an experienced manager

Then a true leader of a team. Talbot was def one of these. Fitz doesn't have enough bite for me, nor did Leroy.

Isn't that the very same behaviour that Frampton was criticised over?:fishing:

He left Swindon because he wants to stay in the North where his family and kids schooling are settled. Although I'm sure if we were a couple of divisions higher he might have a change of heart.

Not saying anything for or against Greg Dyke - but I would have thought being on the ManUre board MIGHT have given him a little bit of an insight.

I think you'll find that the likes of the CEO's e.g. David Gill, Peter Kenyon and Martin Edwards ran Man Utd over the years Lazzer, a completely different world to the good ship Brentford !

Maybe - and all three came under the same sort of violent attack as GD.

Apart from anything else, you'd have to be pretty stupid NOT to learn something as a director - even you may pick up something about running a football club, although I don't believe if you've had any previous experience.

I would have thought an interest in football might help, especially of the ship you are supposed to be captain of?
Out of curiosity, why hasn't GD given the fans any assurances about the future, immediate or otherwise?
Or have I missed something?:fishing:

The Next Step???

Didn't Talbot have good reason to fly rather than posey Andy after another 4-0 home debacle?

I think I remember a bloke in the crowd being really over the top as they all walked past so Talbot decided to hop over and 'have a word'
