The Play Off Push.

It has gone Stevenage's way but they have been winning their own games, something that we have failed to do in 3 now. If we won our own games it would have gone in our favour....

Yep, they've earned their luck and beaten us twice into the process. For those in the know what sort of playing budget have they had in comparison with others in the division?

The Play Off Push.

Carlise forward Lee Millers wife died today....cant imagine the camp will be in good spirits now

The Play Off Push.

Unbelievable - Give me strength.

Surely after last night at the Nou Camp everyone should believe it can be done with CD playing the part of Torres. After all, we are the Barcelona of the lower leagues. Doh.

Clayton bears about the same resemblance to Torres as Clinton does to Usain Bolt, but I agree it certainly shows that with application, spirit and a large measure of luck, anything can happen.

I don't believe for one second that hanworth's post was meant with any malice, bad delivery of words makes it read poorly but I don't think that anyone would find any glory in that happening to anyone associated to a rival club. It was purely some shocking news put across in a matter of fact sort of way, wasn't it?

The Play Off Push.

we will win v sheff wed.
our three rivals will lose.

we will then lose v chesterfield.

hope this helps!

I appreciate that Stevenage have done their bit by getting 9 points out of 9 in a week, but I'm sure they can't have thought that in the 7 games played by their rivals only 2 points out of 21 would be won!! (i also appreciate that 2 of those games also involved Stevenage)

Sincere apologies, sometimes you read stuff on here that makes you want to weep and I jumped the gun. Not for the first time (count to ten before pressing button.............)

You cant concentrate/control on what others do, all you can do is win your own games. If you get that right then generally the rest takes care of itself. We have not done that in the last 3 games (or for large parts of the season) end of story. There were several situations throughout the season where we were in good positions only to fall away when it mattered for one reason or another, it was in our hands several times, we did not take it up.

Watch it, the realists will be after you.
Totally agree, this is a season of learning and lost opportunities.

Yes, its been so noticeable that we have got so close only to fall away so many times this season that I have seriously began to wonder if it was the sort of Team Orders that sometimes makes a mockery of Formula One. But then I am a bit of a conspiracy theorist, believe in UFOs, and think that Jeremy Hunt was acting under the instructions of Cameron when the BSB bid info was leaked to that nice Mr Murdoch.

Burford, you ought to get together with Moribee as he is forever referencing vague conspiracies at gp !!!!!

Personally I reckon it's just a big conspiracy from all the other clubs in the league to stop us getting success, otherwise how do you account for the past 50 odd years!!!!!!!

My old grandad used to say the same thing when we were trying to get promoted from the old Div 3 S.!
My comment was meant to be a little tongue in cheek, but you do have to wonder if at times we have really wanted to go up. The 2 play off finals that I had the misfortune of going to hardly made me think otherwise. We really didn't look as if we wanted to win.
The economics of going up with higher wages, security costs, ground improvements would not make a lot of sense unless we were able to stay there.
Look at the other clubs who made it for a relatively short time. Gills, Scunthorpe, Bury, Colchester etc they are hardly prospering now.
I do believe that MB et alia want to get up to the next level but I am not wholly convinced that they wanted to this season. Events such as the CM and GA departures and the seemingly impossible search for replacements certainly did nothing to make me think otherwise. Even wise old owls such as yourself ( apologies! ) seem to think it would be too soon this season and I couldn't see the current squad, even with a few additions having a prayer of staying up.
I think that there will be a lot of changes in the close season and that next season we will have a side that is really up for it. MB seems to be in it for the long term and I think that this season was meant to be one of laying the foundations and building the ground floor. Next season will be the next storey but perhaps the roof wont go on until 2013/14
