Is this the last time we can extend him then?
I expect the return of Tillen after that then, which is fine if he wants to play and works for it.

I don't think so.

Dickson can stay for two more months if we want, or we can go for a half season loan in January I believe.

Even if he leaves on Jan 20 the loan window is still open so we can get a replacement if we want.

That's good then. I hope he wants to stay but would entirely understand if he didn't. He's capable of more.

:banghead: Bees Sign Defender. Presumably he was out of contract. What a coup.

I just happened to spot this on another thread.

I will be honest and say that with Smith looking as though he is in the side for a while and playing well, and Mousinho due to come back, I'd rather we got a defender or striker on loan instead of Moore. Good player, but needs must.

 Sorry, I don't get your point.

Edit : Perhaps I do - the :banghead: was a slightly over the top response to a comment someone made pointing out that we had a picture of Partridge in a Dickson story. The second bit was my comment about the quality of the signing.

First reaction on Friday night....."what a f**in waste playing Dickson at left back" but fair play (a) to Scott because it worked and totally nullified Wright who had looked good during the highlights i'd seen recently of their games and (b) to Dickson for doing the job that he did.

I thought that they had it sewn up on our left from the way they started with Stirling and Wright interchanging but when we'd worked it out (mainly) Dickson and (also) Poole didn't give them much change.

Dickson has got pace and also a really good attitude being prepared to get stuck in. He's certainly one to keep on the right side of.

:imwith: gives us a real balance, and flair down the left. Keep it up boys.

got to keep him as long as possible, hes a very good player we will miss him big time when hes gone

The Ryan Dickson thread

Torquay sniffing around him.

The Ryan Dickson thread

Closer to home.

Thats my worry.

We need to see if we can do something now, while the team is improving and a better team spirit about the place. Dickson and Poole down the left are going to be a real real threat for anyone.

Absolutely. I'd put this one very high on the priority list.

I would love it if Dickson was kept on for longer.

How many teams in the leage have you seen where youve got two left footed players with a good delivery?

Dickson plays as a full back but makes so many runs that Poole doesnt have to take players on to get a ball in as the overlaps from Dickson take players away from him.

He makes a lot of selfless runs where he often doesnt get the ball and looks committed.

Really rate him and hes bringing Poole along too.

Would be great news. I wonder what Dickson has to say about Ruben Reid... (which i thought was a great call by homerbees, although I don't think he was released last season, or that we could get him!).

COME ON BRENTFORD :bound:

much much much mcuh Closer to home.

depends on his ambition and if the Western Folk still think the roads of West London are paved in gold .Think we should sign Freddy Eastwood ,having a barren spell at Wolves and is always close to home as he can take it with him behind his Transit

I think this lad has real potential.

Surprised Plymouth would let him go so easily but there you go..

Maybe we are just getting too used to Division 4 levels.

The Ryan Dickson thread

Really hope he signs on permenantely. I think hes very good and appears to have a good attitude also.

The Ryan Dickson thread

when you see him and compare him to other youngsters at the club, no disrespect to them, but its obvious hes loads better. Has composure, bags of skill and technique, and works hard. Come on Ryan sign on !

The Ryan Dickson thread

I'd be very happy to get Dickson. Exactly the kind of player we should be trying to get in.

...............here's hoping.....................

Darlington - one of the clubs interested according to the report below - have signed a left back on loan today (Paul Mayo) which could mean their interest has cooled. Whether the other clubs see him as a winger though remains to be seen.

The Ryan Dickson thread

If it is a straight money competition I would hope we could compete with Torquay but realistically we can't compete with Darlington.

Torquay is closer to where he is currently based while Darlington look like a club on the up but the fact he is here right now must put us in with a good shout.

I think it is also fair to say his agent will be making his availability widely known :(

This is a really big call for the destiny of the rest of our season. He's undoubtedly one of our main men at present and keeping him would be huge in my opinion.

I would echo the call that he is important to the side, but Smith, Connell and Poole are main-er men

The Ryan Dickson thread

Born in Cornwall, so may not have too much allegiance to Devon!
Been injury-prone at Plymouth, & The Championship is probably too much of a jump in class for him at present. Fresh start elsewhere & all that, hopefully with BFC where he has already had both opportunity & warm welcome.

The Ryan Dickson thread

Would be great to sign him up. Can play FB, midfield or wing if needed. Lots of raw potential and just what we need to keep going forward.

I think we could pick up an adequate left back fairly easily actually. A decent striker would fit your description

Isn't he an attacking LB that defends adequately and allows Poole not to give too much defensive cover thus allowing him the freedom to score a goal or two?

Any young player with pace, reasonable ability and a decent footballing brain is one to do our utmost to keep hold of imo. Not easy to find a player with all three.

The Ryan Dickson thread

Simon,

I take your point & would normally agree in terms of his playing position.

However at Shrewsbury in the 2nd half , a sub was introduced to clear approval & excitement from the home crowd & he certainly did seem to be a very fast & dangerous player - at first!!! Dickson, imo, completely nullified him & at 21yo appears to have the potential to become an excellent,as opposed to adequate or average, full back. If there's no transfer fee & the wage paid is reasonable, I believe he would be a really good signing.
