Tony Pulis?Surely this thread needs to be renamed "The Danish Sam Allardyce"
Frank de BoerHe didnt say he wouldnt consider it . Its not only the likes of Ivan we could lose . Who would replace him ?

He’d be both nuts and dishonest to say he’d not consider either job! He’s neither. Whoever comes next has probably already had discussions with Rasmus, quite likely first a year or more ago. And be someone we’ve not really heard of.He didnt say he wouldnt consider it . Its not only the likes of Ivan we could lose . Who would replace him ?

I remember many of us said at the time that Bolton on 22nd December 2018 was a must win game.I am from Denmark.
i just red this thread from the beginning.
funny how easily things can turn out so different. Loose to Bolton 22 december, 2018 and Brentford probably had not been nowhere near where it is now,![]()
So that's why I like him so much - we've got the same birthday! He's just a year or two younger than meHappy Birthday Sir Thomas !
Talk Sh*t up to their normal tricks. Gordan (not so) Smart reckons Frank should be in the running for the Newcastle job..
Ex Sun JournalistAm I the only one thinking who the f*** is Gordon Smart?
The 'Oyx' bit not required..........Oxymoron.
Agree. What is interesting these days is that because of social media one person (often relatively unknown) has a view on where a successful manager should go next and its out there for discussion. No doubt Thomas will move on in good time but at this point it just needs to be treated with the contempt it deserves. Its almost an insult to Thomas, from someone who is a nobody, with no real substance to his view other than Thomas has been successful and Newcastle are struggling, embarrassing. Its the world we live in i am afraid. It's all part of our evolution and growth.
Uwe leaves for Wigan
Dean leaves for Villa
Thomas leaves for a top six team... Or maybe we will be the top six team
Let's hope he can see us as a major European club!He will be a serious consideration to big clubs if we finish off the season how it has started.
The press love him, he connects with the fans and he's done a absolutely fantastic job here.
I would be gutted, however, he would have earned his move to a major European club
We all know he has this club in his heart
I guess he’s bright enough to get a job dribbling on the wireless…Am I the only one thinking who the f*** is Gordon Smart?

Yes, I think most would accept that Brendan Rodgers has gone down in his career from having been Liverpool manager to being Leicester manager.we may get to top six , but still be a small club
wtf has it got to do with him ? We could win the World Cup with our willies hanging out but we'd still be a small club !Yes, I think most would accept that Brendan Rodgers has gone down in his career from having been Liverpool manager to being Leicester manager.
If Leicester having recently won the PL is still a smaller club than Liverpool, pretty much regardless of what we achieve we will remain a small club. I’m agreeing with you, you big Bee!wtf has it got to do with him ? We could win the World Cup with our willies hanging out but we'd still be a small club !
oh are youIf Leicester having recently won the PL is still a smaller club than Liverpool, pretty much regardless of what we achieve we will remain a small club. I’m agreeing with you, you big Bee!
Certainly for the middling-sized clubs eg Villa, Leicester, WHU, Leeds etc.He will be a serious consideration to big clubs if we finish off the season how it has started.

Can't see him ending up anywhere near a Greek club. May be tempted to leave us for one of the big 3 in Portugal or big 2 in Holland thoughCertainly for the middling-sized clubs eg Villa, Leicester, WHU, Leeds etc.
But it would take a lot more more than one season in the PL for him to be of interest to the (genuinely) big clubs eg L'pool, Chelsea, M.City etc.
Remember, even Spurs - hardly a giant these days - only turned to Nuno ES as their 5th? 6th? choice, and he had had 3 pretty successful seasons with Wolves, who themselves are bigger than little ol' Brentford.
Tbh, I'd be more worried about TF going to a continental club, where even one good season in the PL might persuade some decent Dutch, Portugese or Greek club with a wealthy, ambitious owner to make an approach?
(Though whether he'd be amenable is another matter)
Why can’t we just let him enjoy his top-top season game-by-game, the way he exhorts us and the players to do ??!!Can't see him ending up anywhere near a Greek club. May be tempted to leave us for one of the big 3 in Portugal or big 2 in Holland though
They live together, so pretty inseparable!A massive part of Thomas's success is Brian Riemer. IMO without our defensive structure we wouldn't have achieved promotion nor the start we have had. I don't know if they are inseparable but if Thomas leaves I'd be more than happy to see Riemar in charge.
Remember there is also the recruitment of Stephen Presley, who Brian has worked with before. So maybe the creation of a Liverpool style ”Bootroom” ? Isn’t our secret weapon “continuity”, where whenever someone is injured or transferred, there is always someone who is able a ready to slot into place -Zanca being the latest exponent ?They live together, so pretty inseparable!
From the breadman to a Danish Bloomer!Surely this thread needs to be renamed "The Danish Sam Allardyce"
If his cars are anything to go by....Am I the only one thinking who the f*** is Gordon Smart?
Sorry. *never say never in football, you can't rule anything out but he enjoys it here, we enjoy him here. We'll see at the end of the season.. ?Why can’t we just let him enjoy his top-top season game-by-game, the way he exhorts us and the players to do ??!!
There's a few well oiled supporters too.....there are many cogs to the well oiled Brentford machine , they all need each other to work
It's a great quote but she was actually his second wife. Jackie Witte was his first wife. Now I'm wondering if I'm missing a joke though. My impression is that Brentford and Thomas Frank have formed the perfect marriage. As Paul Newman is alleged to have said of his life-long faithfulness to his first and only wife, Joanne Woodward: "Why should I go looking for a hamburger when I've got a steak waiting for me back home".
I was surprised and give Villa a lot of credit for not having binned Smith during his first run of flat/bad results. If Thomas went to a “big” club and had the sort of start with them as he had with us he’d be out the door and he knows that. I’m not sure the likes of Arsenal or Spurs would be the right environment for him.
Much more likely his next move - if there is one - is to a big Bundesliga club or the Danish National job.
Ain't he the bloke who used to host the Krypton Factor?Am I the only one thinking who the f*** is Gordon Smart?
I think this is pretty spot on. Would definitely suit a more forward thinking German club without the "money" pressure of a lot of top English clubs. Plus fans in England have a lot less patience. I could see him being a massive success in Germany. If Thomas went to a “big” club and had the sort of start with them as he had with us he’d be out the door and he knows that. I’m not sure the likes of Arsenal or Spurs would be the right environment for him.

I stand corrected. Thanks for putting the record straight. It's a great quote but she was actually his second wife. Jackie Witte was his first wife.
