Hearing nothing from Deep Throat on this one. Who has some news?

Actually, I did speak to one person with a balcony plant (someone there on behave of the FA who used to manage a local team) who said that if it had happened 2 hours earlier then the game would have been off.

I reported to steward about 15 minutes before KO that there was no water in the men's or ladies toilets by N123. Apart from the health issue there's also the possible fire concerns I guess. I'm surprised it went ahead - those loos did not have any water for the rest of the game. Too much pre-match sprinkling?

I did my pre match sprinkle in the pub so didn’t need the “facilities “ in the ground ?

I think they would've shut off the water to the toilets to allow what little pressure there was to serve the fire sprinklers.

It’s odd that it was reported as restored when it wasn’t. Annoying to find out it wasn’t actually fixed until after I had applied the soap to my hands.

I've learnt a lesson, mostly from train toilets to always check for water before applying soap!

This is how I imagine it, anyway. I was in the Red Lion in Burley-in-Wharfedale, where they had water, soap, hand driers, everything!

By the way, is it true that @Banana only started this thread because the title was too good to resist? ??

Not sure if related to the water shortage issue but I filled up my water bottle before the game from the water fountain on top floor of west stand. Took one swig and had to spit it out as it tasted disgusting. I would hope the club sanitise the drinking water system after not being used in the closed season?

Maybe it was sufficiently restored for the fire hoses? If fire safety was the only reason to stop the game going ahead, it would make sense.

When did the water go off? The pitch was getting sprinkled right up to about 13.55.

Why couldn't they actually tell us what was going on and why kick-off was delayed?

If it had happened two hours earlier the match would have been called off? Whose decision is it and why is it more important to have water running two hours before kick-off than with a full stadium at kick-off?

I think we should be told!

just before kick off. Other I doubt the players would have taken to the pitch

The sprinklers *may* be on a different supply.

Great to see so many new hygienic fans on this thread with their hands covered in soap with no way of rinsing them off. (Other than using toilet bowl water as one rank GPG advised us they did on another thread???)…

However, A true hygienic fan knows washing your hands in a heavily contaminated environment such as the G tech toilets is pointless. You should always have a mini bottle of high strength sanitizer with you. Also not much point soaping up when you then touch taps, dryer, door handle etc after washing hands. All you have done is pick up lots of extra germs not found on your cock when you touch these items. I suggest sanitising once you have left the toilet complex and again prior to touching food (although if you’re desperate enough to eat inside the ground standards aren’t probably important to you). If you do eat inside the ground wash it down with whiskey from your personal hip flask.

I have never caught COVID.

As my environmental health team often say the safest place to eat is McDonslds and given the amount of dreadful hygenie practices they observe in most takeaways and restaurants the human gut is a lot more efficient than we give it credit for.

Apparently there was a blocked filter for the stadium that caused the issues...have this snippet from one of the contractors who maintain (our not) the stadium... easily remedied apparently,bloke with a shovel had to shovel ....??

There was an extremely restricted flow from the washbasin taps in the dugout toilets at about 13.50 which I thought was odd, but the pitch sprinklers were working when I went out to my seat after that

Suspect that wasn't the only blockage that they ended up dealing with on the day...

I just wish they didn't decide it was a good idea to put that ear splitting song on repeat for 10 minutes dishing out free migraines to everyone and drowning any enthusiasm we had to create an atmosphere on the first day of the season.
