I can't see that there are any planned engineering works this weekend on the North London Line so am planning on going Gunnersbury to Hackney Wick on Sunday. Direct trains every 15 mins or so. Anybody know anything to suggest this is not a good idea? I presume my Oyster Card can be used on this line.

This Sunday there is no Central Line service between West Ruislip/Ealing Broadway and Queensway. A Rail Replacement Bus Service is in operation.

Due to the London Marathon, supporters travelling between Woolwich Arsenal and Stratford International will need to change at Canning Town to continue the journey as trains will operate between Stratford International to Canning Town only until 16:00.

There will also be no London Overground service between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction. Please use local London Buses or London Underground services.

Oyster is fine, it's a rather pleasant journey as journeys go too. After the Liverpool game I caught the same line to Dalston Junction, went by in no time.

Personally, I'll be walking from mine to the game

Yep but picking a mate up in the car and then driving to Gunnersbury. Should be very quick on a Sunday and road parking is free and easy close by. Much prefer thought of above ground rather than 25 odd stops underground on the Central line!

I’d park up near Willesden Junction. Quicker journey but to be honest I’d still choose the Central Line if it had still been open.

I’d park up near Harlesden Junction. Quicker journey but to be honest I’d still choose the Central Line.

Well time will tell. I'll let you know how it works out. I got to hate that Central Line journey when I worked in the City for a while.

I use the overground fairly regularly to get from Richmond to Hackney Wick and back. When it's running without disruptions it's actually quite a nice journey and you always get a seat. There's a lot of stops and I dare say you would could save a few minutes ducking and diving on the underground via an alternative route but not worth it in my opinion. Like I say though - the line does have a habit of going t*ts up fairly regularly so worth having a contingency.

I’m going NLL. I like to use it for sentimental reasons (Kensal Rise was the journey to my grandma’s and still have relations around there) and my son is, I’m sure, completely bored with my young travel tales.

Scenic and slow. It’s the cheap way east as it avoids Zone 1.

Don't need to do this. Back to Plan A. Mate lives in Hoddesdon WHU STH driving me in as he's got loadsa fuel in his car. He parks in 1 of his mates' drives apparently, 10-15 mins walk from the ground.
