on what basis can we say this?!??? we've seen jack all from him this season... he should be given his chance. give him the baptism of potential fire against Luton this tuesday... dont really see another viable option.

When we lose, we lose heavily. It will take more than one individual to rectify that. Gary Smith is nothing special and in the only game he started we lost 4-1 to Swindon reserves.

He looked quite a tencious character to me in all pre season and was a good player to boot. Since we gave him a contract he has only playd 1 game it seems.

Tenacious? I don't remember him putting a tackle in. I think we were all fooled by the fact he knew how to pass the call. What happened was that Sammy Moore came in and the same things better.

It was OK for TB to judge him after a couple of friendlies and offer him a contract,so,why cannot it be the same for us?

because butcher sees him every day in training perhaps...
although I must say it would be nice to see him play.

Butcher sees Mackie and Pead in training but it doesn't stop him playing them ! Our midfield, and especially the central area, is as weak as I've seen it in 40+ years of supporting the club. Sure we need a goalscorer, but for the past 2 or 3 years we've also been woefully deficient in midfield, so with Moore injured we might as well give Smith a try. Pead and O'Connor are not the answer.

Lets start a conspiracy theory that he did it intentionally to take his place
He'd have to injure our entire midfield before he's played it seems.
If he and Tillen are not wanted by the management anymore talks should firmly be underway to cancel their contracts. Waste of money having players who are froze out. Given our situation that is one of the last things we should be doing
