once again Wimbledon is back who is going to win personally i think Nadal will win federer has had his day going into the tournament on the back of winning no majors murray well.... Quarter finals at best. Roll on summer/pre season

The British girl (Cavaday?) who lost to Venus Williams yesterday seemed to be carrying more than a few excess pounds. I know I am also a little above recommended weight, but I'm not a professional sportsperson

Murray has quite a tough game - one which could see nocoat smiling this evening!!

As for Cavaday (why aren't our ladies like the Russian lot) - I remember hearing she eats a whole bucket of pasta before every game. Unfortunately she usually gets knocked out in straight sets 6-0 6-0 so the pasta isn't really used. Credit to her for a better match this year though.

One of my colleagues is also a part time tennis coach & he is far from impressed with the LTA setup. He was at the LTA headquarters recently and said most of the British players playing a round or two at Wimbledon this year seemed to spend most of their time sat in a lounge drinking coffee rather than out on he court practising or watching tape to improve their game.

I agree that the routine repetition of day to day results does not merit comment in this thread. However, it is remarkable when a high seeded player like Djokovic, Sharapova or Roddick is defeated in a grand slam tournament by an unseeded player who is either ranked very low, new, young, late in his/her career or has enjoyed little recent success in the sport. Such matches become newsworthy for the result alone.

The problem is that she has been suffering from a bad wrist injury this season and really does not fancy her chances. Apart from the looks factor she is short of form, match practice and confidence.
