He may come across as a moody sod, but he's still the best 'British' player since the 30's, i hope he does win a Slam one day.

To be fair on Murray, he could have sat at the press conference after the match and given it the 'plucky loser' routine and bemoaned bad luck. Instead, he basically told the audience 'you try beating Nadal'.

I don't always think he carries himself well, but he certainly doesn't behave like a loser.

I'd say the only player capable of bridging the gap between the top 3 and the other good but not quite champion standard is Del Potro when he is healthy. The problem Murray has is he is not getting any younger, he'd probably be viewed as mid career for a top player and while Federer is coming towards the end of his career he's clearly not as good as his contemporaries Nadal & Djokovic and you can probably expect a couple of younger players to try and break into the elite group over the next couple of years. Unless he suddenly finds improvement from somewhere Groundskeeper Willy looks destined to be the sort of player who spends most of his career bouncing between defeats at some point between the last sixteen and the final in major tournaments.
