Not bad 1st half we are passing the ball well but the game is hardly beinng played at a high tempo.cant fault any of our starting line up shame the trialist went off.after a good passing move Clayton placed a shot in the far corner the second came after Farid headed on for clayton and their defender got in front and headed in 250 bees

3-1. Dallas from a very good Weston cross following about 30 'Barca' passes!

I'm not a Weston fan but he has looked very good since coming on, tearing them apart!

For the first time in 15 years I have been unable to go to any of the pre season friendlies, good anyone give me a honest opinion on where we stand for the season ahead?

Listening to beesplayer we are murdering Wycombe and should be more clear than 4-1 sounds very promising.
A couple more of additions Hayes + 1 and we have a very good squad.:D

We played some decent passing football, almost too intricate at times, with not a lot of end product in the first half but far more in the second. Faird put himself around well and the more I see him the more I think he will get goals., Clayton took his goal well but missed a sitter, Reeves looked class and Forrester caused them problems.

I thought Dallas looked decent when he came in and made some good decisions. Weston tore them apart when he came on and they couldn't handle him, skinning their man before crossing perfectly for Dallas' goal.

Logan looked sloppy at times, Redwood likes to get forward. Thought our midfield looked a bit rusty early on but got better as the game went on.

Decent all round performance without setting the world alight, the footballing ethos has clearly been worked on even further over the summer and is clear to see.

Went with my Dad tonight who has over 50 years under his belt and he commented that he had never seen us out-class a side only below us by one league so much. The style of passing, movement and control of the football was excellent. If this is how we intend to play this season then I'm very much looking forward to the season ahead. Also had a Derby County fan with me who lives down here and he said he expected the standard to be poor and was really impressed with the quality of our football.

Does anyone know who the tall West Indian lad was that came on second half in middle of the park?

Agree with that. Think the "problem" in the first half was the shape of the team and the players we tried to fit in it. We played a diamond but Douglas was wide on the left (not his best position) and Saunders played deeper than usual on the right to accommodate Forrester. That left Reeves mostly on his own in the middle - a big ask for a player of his limited experience, and he did well but it wasn't ideal. I think we can't really fit Donaldson, El Alagui, Saunders and Forrester all in the same team playing that way. Only a minor observation though, for the most part we were comfortable.

We improved in the second half when we used the wings more (we ended the game playing 4-4-1-1), with Redwood and Dallas putting in encouraging performances, and Forrester playing more of a free role behind Weston where he excelled. Personally I think we should use that system on Saturday with El Alagui upfront and Donaldson on one of the wings so we're more balanced.

I agree - Harry MOM for me - very impressed. I didn't think anyone had a poor game. Pleased with the new signings. I thought Vignal looked distraught - no-one near him when he pulled up whilst running down the wing, clearly a hamstring on left leg which already had a bandage on it.

The young midfielder was number 19 - Michael Onovwigun.

Had a chat with Andy Scott and thanked him for the good times we had with him. He said it was the first time he had seen the Bees for a while (I guess since Wembley).

Good to see 4 goals and could / should have had 8 or 10. Wycombe could have had 1 or 2 more but were well outplayed.

Exciting times ahead, especially once Uwe completes the signings he want to complete his squad.

Played them off the park.
Again we were up for it and went out to dominate and win.
This preseason has shown us alot, that Uwe has made his mark and everyone is comfortable playing the way Uwe wants. Another improvement :)
Moore had a good game in goal, couple of great saves.
Forrester was top of the diamond and was class.
Reeves had a good game at the bottom of the diamond.
Douglas and same played either side and also put in very good shifts.
Vignal at left back looked decent and got forward but think he went off with a hamstring.
Encouraging performances from Micheal, Redwood and Mawsom.
Logan had acres of space at right back and got involved going forward very well.
Donaldson took his goal very well, shrugging off the defender and slotting home. His all round play is brilliant and has looked very good in preseason and has linked with Farid very well. These two look a great combination, Clayton does his all round play and chips in with goals while Farid is powerful in the air and his a fox in the box. Should have also scored in the first half but shot wide from 8 yards out. Also close with a header in the second half.
Second goal was an own goal.
Third was crossed by Weston who picked out Dallas at the far post who slotted home
Weston also played very well when he came on as the loan striker. 3 goals in preseason and a couple of assists.
Kevin scored the 4th from inside the six yard box after a corner or a cross I think fell to him and fired home :)
Must have had well over 10 corners and could have scored at least 3 or 4 more.

I would be seriously worried if I had just watched that as a Wycombe fan. The difference in quality was indeed startling, the only surprise was that we did not win by more. I felt really sorry for Vignal who looked distraught as he trudged off, and up until then he looked as though he could possibly be the answer to our left back problem. It gave Redwood another chance, he looked eager to get forward, but I am not so sure of his defensive qualities. I was pleased to see Dallas, who showed promise but was a still a bit raw. He was in the right place and took his goal well. Weston looked very determined, could he possibly have a good season after all? Clayton looked class, the Wycombe defenders were doing all they could to pull him down and he still left them for dead.

Enjoyable game with added bonus of sitting next to Andy Scitt who was doing some scouting and passing comment on the game, firstly his opinion on Wycombe was that they were c@@p and would not be getting promotion any time soon. On Brentford he felt that with another striker promotion is a very real possibility, he was impressed with Myles contribution but confirmed he is a real enigma and just wished he could perform consistently

He was generally impressed with our performance and enjoyed Harrys flicks and energy

I thought we did well some nice passing from a team that looks very fit, difficult to really judge as either we are very good or Wycombe very poor, answer is somewhere in the middle. Thought Harry had a good game whilst Sam not so much, interesting competition for a place between them, Vignall looked good before injury and Reeves looked solid, Logan at times lost concentration and will need to look to his laurels if he wants his place

Enjoyable game and a team that look very comfortable in the ball, Farid will cause defences problems and will, I think, be a fans favourite however the additional games in our league may be an issue for him

Just back from the game and as many have said a very good performance against a piss poor Wycombe side.Forrester was the star man for me our passing was a joy to watch unlike the utter sh*te kit we played in with white shorts to top it off.Shame about vignal getting injured he was our best player up till then hope it's a minor strain.Good Bees turnout must have been close on 300 as they gave the crowd as 900 ish looked more of us than them.Spoke to Andy Scott in the pub before said he was running his own scouting company and had an interview for the Gillingham job, bless.The pitch was getting more flooded as the game went on and what a crap night more like a November evening.I always thought this would be our toughest pre season game but it turned out to be a very one sided game with us having about 75% of possession.Not going Saturday sadly but l would suggest any fans unsure about going get up to Walsall this could be the start of something good.
