Andy Scott

1 - Andy Scott has said we would try and beat last years finish
2 - Abee pointed out that our budget is top 8-10 in division
3 - Why should AS apologise. In his eyes he has prepared the team to the best of his ability.

Nick are you over 18?

1. he is failing miserably.
2. he is failing miserably.
3. He has succeeded beyond all doubt.

I hate slow deaths so I am expecting defeat tomorrow night followed by swift action.

If not swift then at least after all of us who say he needs time have had the chance to change our vote.

Once the AS love in is in the minority, its all over!

I do admire you Nick, loyal isn't the word.

I think Andy is his worst enemy, at least half the criticism on here would vanish if he just stopped blaming everyone but himself when things go wrong.[/QUOTE]

Spot On! :sorted:

The Orient interview on GPG home page is a classic example and a must read for Nick and the rest of the loveinites.

Someone who doesn't go to games and someone with a long standing agenda. Hmmmmm.

Andy Scott

Someone who doesn't go to games and someone with a long standing agenda. Hmmmmm.

There is no agenda. I have voted for him to be given more time ffs but it must be with a clear message - CHANGE.

He wont unfortunately change his tactics or the style of play or the personnel to the degree.

I would love to see us win the next three games because I want to watch Brentford this season rather than play VETS football, but I am not wasting £500 to watch a team that are going to settle for finishing mid table after eight games - there simply needs to be a clear sign of a more ambitious approach before I return to GP.

Andy Scott

"Insurgents destroyed "christ we are in Iraq now.If you think a couple of hundred posters on here some that l doubt ever go is representative of a endorsement of Andy Scott you must be having bobble.Look at our league gates this season and then look at what most posters on here predicted pre season thats the true barometer on Andy Scotts brentford at this present time.Like all fans l want a succesfull LEAGUE team that will equate to bigger gates F.ck the cup.

You're right the poll is far from scientific as an indicator of the views of all Brentford fans, but it is much better as a barometer of the views of GPG posters: the sample size at around 7 per cent is much higher than most opinon polls. On that basis, it does strongly suggest that while the AS-must-go-now group on this site are very vocal they are in a clear and substantial minority. I for one find this very reassuring, not because of any particular personal liking of AS, but purely because it strikes me as the overwhelmingly sensible place to be right now

How many of the Not Yet Votes will change on Weds morning?

If we lose mine definately will.
If we draw I will reserve judgement until after Saturday but it depends very much on the team selection, tactics and match report.

If we win AS gets three more games and I would want at least four more points to then give him another block of four games from which we must take 7 points minimum.

That is do-able

Andy Scott

There is no agenda.

I'm sorry ROB but your postings suggest otherwise. I just think it's a shame. There's not one poster on this thread who hasn't acknowledged that things need to change and pronto but you just come across as itching for him to fail and going on your previous posting history on AS, it's no surprise to me that you've been so vocal on this thread when AS is up against it.

Andy Scott

........alternatively, 22% of us are forward thinking, and the rest of you haven't caught up yet. Just to give a different slant on the poll.

Saying that the majority of people on here think AS should stay or at least needs more time is based on the fact of the result.

Saying '22% of us are forward thinking' is an opinion, and puts a completely subjective slant on the poll. It isn't a slant anymore than me saying (eg.) '22% are backwards thinking and haven't cottoned on like the rest of us.'

You are adding an emotionally based slant, to a factually based result, which cannot legitimately be spun any other way. Without taking any sort of subjectively biased view we can say for certain that - according to the poll, people on the gpg want AS to stay a while longer.

Andy Scott

There a number of posters who get excessively active when things seems to be on the slide. A win or two sees them go quiet but a defeat is jumped on with glee. I find it odd support but each to their own I suppose.

Andy Scott

"In his eyes he has prepared the team to the best of his ability".

Yep I guess that really sums it up ;)

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzz You coming to Brighton to help cheer the team out of this mess ?

This the most annoying thing, so vociferous when we struggle, say nothing when we win.

On the contrary as you will see if you go back to pre season. I must have been one of the most enthusiastic and optimistic fans on here.

Its simple football is a business and AS has not blown his budget because his signing of Alexander, Hamer, Balkestein, Woodman,Adams, Spillane and Dave are excellent signings. Simpson clearly has fitness issues which is a shame because he is another superb acquisition.

Lee is some Goalkeeper clearly but he is too short for L1 and L2 they are far too physical leagues and the referees do not protect keepers as they do in the Premiership and to some extent the Championship. But a great No 2 as he has proven after a shaky start.

That said Hudson is a work in progress, McCracken has some pedigree even if we have yet to see sight of how he earned his reputation.

Add that lot to Charlie, Myles, KOC, Karleigh, Saunders and Leon Legge and you have a superb squad capable of much better than 6points from 24.

So where is the problem?

Over two years we have seen players come and go at an alarming rate.
We have heard rumours of fall outs. Accusations of arrogance and stubborness.

Finally, we have seen the sh*tiest style of football I have watched for some time at GP and no alternative to it when it isnt working.

Seems to me the answer to my question is at the manager's door!

And you honestly expect us to believe that if he achieves your set of arbitrary targets you won't be back on here after the next run of bad results doing the same as you are doing now. Excuse me if I am just a little bit sceptical on this one

Andy Scott

How short memories are. In Aug/Sept/Oct last year, we managed 3 points from 6 games and 7 from 10. In fact, by early December we had about 12 points from 15 games.

AS turned it around then, I see no reason why he shouldn't do the same now.

Sorry if those who felt we were going to win our first thirty games are disappointed, but I see no reason why the playoffs cab't still be achieved under AS.

I'd also love to know where these figures and facts about his budget, the budgeted crowd, his losing the dressingroom, his arrogance etc really come from. Half the time, I feel someone makes a guess and the next thing you know, it's official as far as the GPG is concerned. The rest of the time, it appears that those who don't like him make the statements in the hope that 2 months down the line they'll be received wisdom aqnd no one will know where it first came from

Still, as they say, 'A lie can run around the world before the truth can get its boots on' or, if you prefer Virgis, "Fama, malum qua non aliud velocius alium".

This the most annoying thing, so vociferous when we struggle, say nothing when we win.

I say excellent and well done when we win, I've pretended many times this season that all is good, I've lied as it's obviously not anywhere near good enough. I said after Swindon that the cobwebs were blown away, Hull was the next step on our road to greatness, I told anyone that would listen that all was sorted and the team knew it's role, that 2nd half in Bristol must have given them the confidence to know that we could pass teams off the pitch etc etc Sadly they have all been a false dawn as we have been total bollox in the next game. I'm going out of my head watching complete and utter drivel surrounded by pretend moments of advancement, I would imagine if you asked people that have been at every game the question on this poll then you would get a different answer as I know a fair few who are like me but can't be arsed on here. All I mean by that is that the 100%ers have seen more sh*te than the others and it's been emotional, costly and fecking disgraceful at times. Unlike you Nick I'm normally sober but get pissed when I get home, it's the only way I can sleep.:D
Opinions count whether you've been to all or none and going to them all doesn't make it a better opinion, it actually makes you a mug this season.
I went out on the piss on Saturday and all the chaps wanted to talk about beating Everton and them beating Liverpool, RobBEEh, NB JNR and I asked not to talk about footballl as we were all steaming from the night before. I've convinced a Cobbler's coach to back us for top 6 and he's laughing his balls off at me, we are miles away from a good side and that's wrong after the huge MB injection this summer.

It's not. Andy is a frikin nightmare to deal with, I know players and directors who would back this up, let alone his attitude to any critical comments be they from supporters, ball boys or women, you can glean how bad he has been on here.

His communication skills are poor, compare how much we feel part of the club now, me nothing, I feel he just talks sh*te about how we were the 'better side' when we all know we were not at it.

Guess we were spoilt with Martin, when I felt a big part of the club.

He needs to visit the Max Clifford school of charm if he ever dreams of being a Prem manager.

However, if we lose tomorrow I wouldn't want him sacked, or even if we don't beat Charlton. He deserves time.

Our record on patience is usually five defeats on the trot, then he will probably have to think about going. That's what Leroy and Tel got.

I Hope he has the good sense to change his mind set and get us all onboard, the players and us the supporters.

Bill the first home crowd was sh*t. This after everyone enthusing about our new signings. Any thoughts as to why ?

Andy Scott

Meaning your opinion is not based on hard evidence.

Which is absolutely fine. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have the means or indeed the health to attend games which is why Bees World is such a fantastic service, and the GPG is for all fans, not just those who are able to attend matches. I just find it a little strange (and no less disappointing) that you have such a huge dislike of Scott as a manager Wayfarer ? You've said your opinions are formed from listening to Marky and Billy and certainly in Marky's case I've always seen him as a Scott fan.

So what you are saying is,because I cannot rather than wont attend games I have no say. Is that what you are saying? My beef is NOT witrh the players. If I havn't seen them in action I aint got the right to judge them. When Mr Scott was appointed, I said at the time it was a cheap option compared to the salary that Mr Butcher was getting. No doubt there were applicants at the time who were far more qualified than AS . Several posters on here have stated that AS is still learning. All I am saying is, go and learn somewhere else.

But we won the League Title under him and finshed 9th a year later in the League above ! Would you have taken that if someone had offered it to you when Butcher was sacked ? The way you put it makes it sound like AS has been a failure - surely you can see that that hasn't been the case ?

".

Firstly, by turning it around last year you mean finishing ninth.
Ninth is not good enough this year and he is miles from finishing ninth at the moment.

Secondly, the play-offs can still be reached if we win 70 points out of 114.
Owlsmoor and Nick Logan believe AS is capable of achieving that goal.
I dont believe that the style of play, tactics and formation and the inability to adapt under changing circumstances that AS adapts is good enough to achieve that goal.

AS gets his chance but he has to show us a sign tomorrow not just in what result we get but how we go about getting it.
If he fails again tomorrow we will need 70 points from 111. I am not watching sh*t football to achieve L1 survival. I will come back when our ambition is greater than that.
