Excuse me for being blunt but you do talk utter nonsense. I'm as pleased as anyone else that the bees won in style today. I dont mind being proved wrong at all. I've been proved wrong before in my 70 yrs on this planet, and no doubt I will be proved wrong again. You should read my posts with more care,or better still dont read them at all,if they get up your snotbox that much. I have never knocked anyone on the gpg for supporting AS. It seems to me you like having a dig at me whenever you can. That's ok, I wont lose any sleep over it.

I will not rise to this
I will not rise to this
I will not rise to this
It's fu**ckin hard not to though!

Andy Scott

Do you really expect anyone with a doubt about AS to hate that victory, 4 and a half hours in a car hoping to lose so that I can post that he must go?
Grow up fella.

Firstly, I think the people that boo are knobs. If you think booing is going to show your frustration with Scotts tactics, yet miraculously not affect any of the players then you are an idiot. I am a bees fan, and I dont boo the team because no matter how crap they are playing, it does no good.

You cannot deny you want AS gone (although I think you are being sincere about seeing Brentford succeed regardless of the manager), but have a read back at say... wayfarer172's posts. I honestly dont know if he would rather see the bees win, or himself proved right.

Dont give me the 'grow up fella', have a bit of humility. This thread has harboured the most livid of anti-Scotts, and now the insurgents are getting a bit of stick. Relax, if we had lost badly yesterday it would have been the other way round. Dont be so quick on the defensive, it just proves that the pro-AS lot have really hit a nerve with you.

Andy Scott

No I don't have a dig at you whenever I can. I do however, pick you up when you keep repeating your mantra i.e. you don't rate AS, never have etc, etc. It's the repition that hacks me off & it's unneccessary. I / we know your point of view but when you continually express that view it starts to sound like you're on some sort of "witch hunt".

I do geniunely believe (maybe wrongly) that you will be delighted to say "I told you so" if AS fails. The only way I can get that impression is from your posts which I do read with care.

In case you think I'm living in some sort of Never Never land; I will say this again: I can understand why some are questioning AS's performance to date (this season). In the main, it has been very hard to watch - long ball hit & hope, with not much hope at the end of it. Today was better but we need to take that performance into our next match.

I wish AS & his team well. As did most , if not all of the fans around me today.

OK,fair comment.Lets agree to disagree ok? Whatever you might say I have loved the Bees since 1948 and I still do. Apart from all that,I have no wish to fall out with a fellow Bees fan. Have a nice day

....And also expect a lot of swift changes of opinion from the doubters.

I do hope so - Including the away fans, Griffin Park was 49.7% of capacity yesterday. That speaks volumes. I don't know Charltons following, but take that out and divide the home support into 10,903 home capacity for a really sad statistic.

Andy Scott

Apologies for the grow up. I want us to win the next 30 games but I hit the wall at Orient and having seen 98% of matches under AS, I just had had enough. When we lose we surrender without any fight in many cases and these performances had started to creep into home games, previously they only happened on the road and visible only to 500 sets of eyes. Our home record kept us sane but so far this season has been madness home an away. Another fresh start beckons and I'll spend all week on a high expecting us to perform against Oldham.:sorted:

Andy Scott

You seem to miss a
lot of peoples points myself included. We are all over the moon about our win yesterday, persoally I was not happy with the last half hour. We sat too deep and invited Charlton to dominate the last third. It could easily (It didn't) have backfired and there would have beem a lot of us going mental. I don't think any of us want Andy to go, maybe the odd exception. It is not in anyones best interest for this to happen, everyone knows that the players we have are too good for our current league position.
These are Andys players and he has made sone good signings, Where he goes wrong IMO is his tactics and believe me he has a lot to learn
He needs to trust his team , and allow them to express themselfs on the pitch, we have all seen what they can do. My complaint goes back to the very begining of Andys tenure. We put in a good shift (as they say) one game then we go to yeovil or Exeter and play utter sh*te. I sit in the new RD and I can hear a lot of his instructions ( some of it is not very impressive)
I myself do not think he is as good as some on here make out, but I shared his relief cos that is what it was when Dave scored th 2nd. He has loads to learn , and in fairness to him seems to learn by his mistakes, he tends to revert back into them. Some thing he must strive for amd aim for is consistancy.

Very good post. sums it up perfectly for me :sorted:

Andy Scott

And the booing at Orient? You act like a girl, AS did his job yesterday, most league games this season have been crap, he owes us more than one.
I don't do man-love and have never worried about managers and players leaving, Scott has been quick to show the door to players not performing and he's lucky the board aren't so hasty. It's been a crap start but we all hope that we have turned the corner, I've thought that a few times this season but will allow myself to think this is the real turner.
Do you really expect anyone with a doubt about AS to hate that victory, 4 and a half hours in a car hoping to lose so that I can post that he must go?
Grow up fella.

Apology accepted bro :D I listened to the game and that was bad enough, actually being there is bound to bring out the annoyance and the passion ;)

I personally just dont think AS is a bad manager, he has his faults (stubbornness and a ruthless streak) but still think he is the man for the job and can take the club further, given a bit of time. I hope that we can beat Orient (dont care how we do it) and then thrash Oldham in the league. I want to start imposing our style on other teams.

Onwards and upwards, hopefully AS starts grinding out a bit of consistency and we can all unite behind the bees and everyone on the GPG will be soothed. We are a good team, we just need to start firing on all cylinders. :sorted:

As an Andy Scott doubter l cheered when we scored and at the final whistle as loud and pasionately as any of the pro Andy Scott supporters.I had a drink with same fans after and was as happy as they were cause we are fans all wanting the same thing on the pitch. So as someone else has said on here grow up mate your beginning to sound like Holder and remember what hapened to him.

Andy Scott

These are Andys players and he has made sone good signings, Where he goes wrong IMO is his tactics and believe me he has a lot to learn...
Could it be that Andy's players have started to play to Andy's tactics? The real Myles Weston turned up; the midfield played higher up the pitch; Wood gave us the Red Bull; our ageing forward line outsmarted their ageing back line.

We need to see the performance levels shown against Charlton - particularly first half before Parkinson put on a more attacking line up - on a more consistent basis. A loan signing of a forward with a bit of pace would also help out in the short term. Of course, if we sign a great player, he's a hero; if we sign a donkey, it's all Scott's fault.

Andy Scott

Wood is crucial to our team, he was upset at not coming on v Hartlepool, he couldn't believe it, could you? I didn't speak to him after Orient but I'd imagine he was angry, I know I was, we were desperate for him to play some part and he could have changed things in both of those games IMO, he is a spark that can set us on fire, I'm glad that AS has finally seen the light.

For what it's worth I was pleased with AS yesterday. Including SW in the team made such a difference by all accounts. I confess to being a Moaning old git, but honestly I'm like you people, desparate for AS to succeed. As I've said before, all teams have a bad patch. Hopefully we have had ours and can now progress. Only 7 pts from the play offs, so anything is possible.

Andy Scott

Yesterday was much better. Under pressure, we resorted to a counter attacking long ball game, and that didn't work with Nicky Forster up front on his own.

However, the first half was excellent, we looked like we were going to destroy them. Myles had a blinder, and Leon and Karleigh both had very good games at the back.

Sam Wood also had a great game, scaring the opposition with the way he runs at players

Also, Kirk Hudson's late appearance showed me why we signed him. Not sure if anyone elses opinion is the same as mine, but he looks like hes got some potential. He's got some very good pace about him, even though he has the frame of an 11 year old nun.

I also still maintain Mickey Spillanes goal was NOT offside. God only knows what the lino was thinking. For a start, he headed it OVER a defender in front of him.

We finally started playing the ball along the ground, I saw more forward passes than usual, and we dominated. AS should take that, see for himself that if we can dominate teams like Charlton, we should NOT be losing against teams like Orient, teams like Walsall.

I really hope we take that performance into our next game, forget Orient tuesday, rest players like Gary Alexander (just looks like hes on the brink of exhaustion sometimes) and lets show Oldham exactly why we shouldn't be in the relegation zone

And thats all from me folks.

I said earlier in this thread, 4 games for AS to see improvement and turn it around, just because we won I still stand by that. First half yesterday was really good, lots of 'tippy tappy' we passed the ball well. But 2nd half was back to the normal rubbish hoof ball, we sat back for 45 mins! Should of killed them off after we had weathered the storm after 15mins into the 2nd half.
So with that display I have seen some improvement, but needs to continue.

Andy Scott

How about about a poll for the worst spelling mistake of the month - "rediculous" ;)

Typing, not spelling. I type one handed and I am all over the place. (what is he doing with the other hand i hear someone ask;))

To be fair how can anyone say appointing AS was a bad thing when we won the league?

Andy Scott

Basically this thread has been wildly asserting nasty things about AS's managerial style, slammed his tactical awareness, and said that he has lost the dressing room amongst other slights. Before yesterday It was a sanctimonious 'We know more than you, trust us, you will look back in retrospect and agree that AS should have gone' thread.

So yes, expect a little bit of nose-thumbing and holier than thou-ness. And also expect a lot of swift changes of opinion from the doubters. Dont get lemaan because you have been proved wrong :nono: If you think that people are being ott with beating down the insurgents, it is clear where you previously stood on the issue.

The applause for AS before the game suggests to me that more people have a lot of faith in him, than the vocal minority on here.

if you enjoy a bit of nose thumbing when we win then i wish you many happy nose thumbings for the rest of the season, starting tuesday please.
a question though if i may: what does "lemaan" mean?

Yes, we do need to see ongoing and consistent improvement but sorry mate the comment in bold is nonsense. Of course we started to defend more deeply as the half went on, but almost every team I have ever seen with a 2-0 lead tends to do this as the clock ticks down. AS was desperate for them to push up. As for hoof ball, the only time that was in evidence was when we were under severe pressure in the last 15 and frankly I was happy to see it. It was defenders ensuring above everything else that they cleared their lines - row Z stuff! For most of the second half we tried reasonably successfully to play counter-attacking football and if Alexander and Forster (understand why he was not) had been a little more sharp we would have scored a couple more goals

You admit to hardly going, mate you really don't have the right to comment about our poor displays if you're not there! Could of easily been 2-2 and these stupid posts about insurgents and traitors wouldn't exist. Talk to me about Scott when we win 3 on the spin. At the moment his results mean we have blown the play offs, so he is failing. Again, I support Brentford, and said so before the game, but to suggest to not liking Scott is not supporting BFC is rubbish. BTW this is not aimed at you, but at the Noddy type poster arseholes.

I dont really want to carry on with the petty nose-thumbing, i just want this thread finished and Andy Scott gettin on with the task at hand with our backing.

Oh and the Lemaan thing - I was just phonetically writing Lemon, like a cock-er-ney would say. lol

I have been pretty quiet on this thread and tried to stay away from it, but realistically I was always going to pop on after a good result and have a bit of a niggle. I dont have a problem with the 'we cant change our play style' but dont like the 'AS is a dick blah blah blah'. My little rant was about the personal insults and speculation, I'm not taking it personally.

What crap,10 games gone and 7pts off a play-off place.
Sounds like a Noddy type post to me.

Andy Scott

Jury's still out for me but he needs to more tactically aware.

Interesting to see if he can get the team to play at the same level against Oldham......

Thats easy. Just pack the away end. All our best performances seem to come when the opposition fans fill BR

Andy Scott

As Martin Allen once said we should not go overboard away by a few good or bad results, the season is 46 games long. The key to this situation consistency, we know they can do it but it needs to happen every week, not only against the so called bigger/better teams. That is why imo Scotty needed more time, however, only time will tell.

Andy Scott

Especially now Dave has got his 1st goal for us. He'll be hungry for more now.

have to admit that i was looking at the league table this morning and thinking it's all to play for still.

Oldham- H
Tranmere- A
Peterborough- H
Exeter-A
Bournemouth-H
MK Donkeys-H

Yep,you are so right. I honestly think the Charlton result would of given the Bees a far greater lift than beating Everton. I just have this feel good feeling now. Watch us go now.

I agree, then sadly I think that points dropped at home to Walsall, Hartlepool and Rochdale will be hard to take come the end of the season. Throw in Orient and I think that most teams towards the top will have more than one point from them.
We really do need to kick on this time, we can't afford another false dawn and crap run. I think we will do it this time but that's shallow as I've thought that after every better performance.

Fair comment, but I think I'm right in saying there are only 5 teams above us who have let in fewer goals, so obviously we are tough to break down. My only worry atm is our lack of firepower up front due to so many injuries. If AS could get a decent loanee in. No doubt my mate Andy will sort it soon.

Absolutely. It seems v churlish to still criticise but i do support the whole one swallow does not make a summer thing. Saturday's result will mean nowt if we only get one or two points from our next 2 or 3 games.

These two are crucial. We all know we raise our game against the better or bigger sides, but they have to produce against these two. If our season isn't going to start in the next few games, then when is it?

Oldham have hit a buffers a bit after a good start, 4-5-1 and hold will no doubt be their stance. I hope to see us deal with it.
