i know nothing and don't have any contacts inside bfc these days, but my reading (ok, theory) is that they are being correct by foz, who was appointed until the end of the season, and not saying a word 'til then when they will announce another name. probably next week.

if it was to be foz they would have told him / us by now me thinks.

it's all becoming a bit like an agatha christie whodunnit! or whogotit.

Not sure what other terms and conditions you are seeking before you purchase! Who does it need to be before you decide to sign up and are you stating that you've been perfectly happy to previously purchase a season ticket and watch in the main bland, third division football but now are demanding something better.

If this is the case, would politely remind you that it's Brentford innit, my dad conned me 42 years ago to pop along and I' ve been coming ever since. I've seen one season in div 2, 30 odd in div 3 and the remaining dark years in the basement, I've witnessed at max a handful of seasons of what I consider decent football as in the main we've juggled budgets to get effective, functional, workmanlike teams and no pundits have ever considered us an attractive, footballing side, we're game little Brentford who occasionally punch above their weight and now make for easy sound bites as we're so close to Sky.
Sorry if money is the issue and you can't afford a ticket but the last thing we need now is more true supporters not turning up because they're p*ssed off with what hasn't happened in the past.

I genuinely believe rightly or wrongly the Exec board and MB are aware of needs to happen to fufill the 5 year vision and are taking their time to insure we ge the best person available to do the job but again there's no absolute guarantee.

Of course the players are going to say: "Give the caretaker/our mate the job". They haven't played since Wembley as if they want him to get the job though.

I remember the players clamouring for Fitzgerald to get the job in 2006. NF has done a decent job steadying the ship but I just can't see him taking us forward.

I think most of them have tried their best, the problem is their best isn't good enough. The stand out players for me have been Saunders, Diagourga and Grabban who have all played well since the JPT defeat.

Will you start supporting a new team, possibly one with a manager that you wanted BFC to appoint ??

Hey. Dont let that put you off getting a ST. Dont forget we will have some massive games to look forward too next season. Chesterfield, Bury, Wycombe and one of Shrewsbury, Accrington, Torquay, Stevenage, or Gillingham to look forward to.

I should have mentioned Osborne who has been our best defender. O'Connor has played OK at right back but is not the answer for next season. Wood runs around around a lot and that's it ?

If we get the right boss and team playing this is the best chance we'll have to get out of this division, (assuming Hudders go up), looking at it Sheff Utd, Preston, Sheff Weds, MK Dons and Charlton are bigger, better supported clubs so let's be positive

Well I’ve been a season ticket holder now for 5 years but been coming to Brentford for the past 20 years but I can honestly say I’m bored sh*tless of watching this football , i even got my son of 7 a season ticket to try and get him involved , and even he said this is rubbish??? Of course they will always be my team but I reckon cutting the grass on a Sat afternoon would be more enjoyable? Sat for example Southampton are a very good team but we didn't even try in the first half? :banghead:

He would be my choice. That one season under him was amazing, even though we didnt go up, the football we played was the best I can recall watching at GP. Although they say you shouldnt go back...

I agree with him. The whole experience of going to Brentford these days is dull. Griffin Park is like a morgue, there is no buzz whatsoever and hasn't been in a long time. It's rarely an enjoyable way to spend a Saturday afternoon any more.

I certainly posted on here somewhere months ago that if we didn't get it right this season then we'd look at where we went wrong and try to put it right. It's fair to say that Andy Scott was given a free hand with his selection of players as we operated on a 'minimum interference' basis. That's fine if a club has the right manager playing the football that we all wish to see and getting the results that anyone with the Club's interests at heart hope for but if not sooner or later any football club board has to step in. We have spent a long time considering various options for the new team manager......what we were looking for......the style of football to be played......experience......contacts in the game and the hundred other bullet points. Some posters on here if they were board members would have been pushing their colleagues to appoint one of several managers who were immediately available (because they were out of work) and within a few days of Andy Scott going and the board was criticised by some for 'losing' them. My vote was always to do this in a measured way, accept the criticisms but work on the maxim that 'You only get one chance to get it right first time'. The job description for BFC manager in January 2008 (just after I joined the board) was different to that of now. Then the brief was to stabilise the Club, avoid relegation to the Conference at all costs and get back into League One the following season but within two seasons maximum. AS achieved that and earned the right to manage us in League One. We consolidated in League One in some comfort in the end in our first season back. This season has been disappointing in that we didn't move on to the next step and to an extent the view on AS was coloured by the successes he had in the Carling and JPT competitions. Some supporters believe we acted too late, some professional commentators insist that we acted too prematurely.........it's always a personal viewpoint. This season we have won nine out of twenty three home league matches scoring twenty four goals. That is an unacceptable return for the resources available. We scored more that two goals only three times during the season........all away from home. We did not score more than two goals in a home league match all season. That is unacceptable for the resources made available. Nobody can promise success......we can only promise to try and all supporters want the same thing. If they were prepared to go into print you'd find directors of all twenty four League One clubs telling supporters the same thing and twenty one of them will not be promoted next season. That's the nature of football. We have a unique opportunity with MB's resources and when we get out of this bloody league and into the Championship then I'd like to be able to post 'It's Brentford innit' and be proud to say it.

With regard to season tickets we've made the Early Bird more attractive. With full price season tickets we are freezing the prices and swallowing the VAT increases. With pay on the day we are freezing prices and swallowing the VAT increases. The board would certainly hope that all season ticket holders renew but we are aware that they won't, some for economic reasons, some because they can't get to enough games to justify the cost of a season ticket, some because they are disillusioned with the Club and some like yourself who have heard it all before and would like to see some meat on the bones before committing. A supporter buying an Early Bird is a gesture of faith if you like or else they need their fix and would be watching Brentford whatever league we were in. Full price season tickets include of course the 'waiting time' cost so that hesitant supporters can see the players coming in before deciding whether or not to commit. That flexibility comes with a premium over the Early Bird. The other option is to pay on the day which provides the greatest flexibility but comes with the greatest cost. That seems fair to me.
