NF till end of season. If he learns and understands how to cope with players not following his instructions, and what to do when the team isn't playing so well, then fantastic. He clearly has a more relaxed nature, allowing players to flourish, but that style has its drawbacks too, and if he knows how to cope with that, then we will have a young, hungry manager again. If he fails, then an experienced head would be wiser, but whatever happens, I hope that they can prove to the board that they are adaptable, understand the impact of either playing to a rigid system or playing with more freedom. There are pro's and cons to playing to systems or with freedom, and many managers simply come across as too stubborn to adapt. We need a manager who is not so stubborn, can motivate players, and get his instructions across to them. It really doesn't matter whether that is NF, Gary Johnson, or whoever. We just need the kind of manager who is different to Scotty, and bring out the best in our players, and know what to do when things aren't going our way. That may well be NF and he should currently be in pole position. If he performs well till end of the season, then we should support his appointment.
All this Martin Allen stuff is, frankly, out of the question. As a quick fix, maybe, but never for the long-term. He is too over-bearing as a personality, and the current squad does not need an over-bearing manager in my opinion. I am sure the board will take into consideration many aspects that may not be obvious as criteria as the BFC manager.
