I hope he pulls KOC over and has some stern words in his ear. I cannot understand a club captain that is happy with 1 point against a team of 9 players at home !!!!!!!!!!!, a complete lack and load of b***ocks IMHO. New leader on the pitch required I think.

You guys get swayed very easily by a few results, let's nor kid ourselves none of the games we have played under Fozzy have been games we didn't expect to get something.
We need experience. Johnston is the man to take us forward. Appointing Forster til the end of this season seems to be a mistake IMHO. Get the new manager in who would have til May to see who he likes in the current squad.
More time they were given the better.
Fozzy won't have the odd contact here and there to make the odd good signing either...

Think you do Fozzy a disservice here, I thought we were nailed on to win at Daggers and we know what happened there.
He has brought football back to Brentford and if he keeps up the good work should be considered in the Summer.
Johnson is a bit past his sell by, we have to think higher.

Blimey they are quick off the mark aren't they getting someone in. So were Swindon. I wonder if it is a case of "strike while the irons hot" or "more haste less speed".

It looks like we aren't going to appoint Martin Allen; my first choice. And now we've lost the chance to sign Gary Johnson; my second choice. I'm very concerned by the dithering going on when there are very good candidates available and interested.

Do you think the club dithered? Johnson was all over the job from the day Scott was sacked but the board don't appear to have been interested in him, otherwise I'm sure they could (and would have) acted.

I would not get to despondant just yet, the list of candidates will no doubt grow before the end of the season as other (possibly more desirable) individuals become available. It says to me that the board were not too excited about GJ as I am sure we could have got him, and given the current situation on the pitch we can afford to wait. A very different Brentford to the past I know, but the board are obviously keen to get the right man. Have confidence in the board to do the right thing. Onwards and upwards....

That seems to be about right. Whilst some of us might think that Johnson's unrivalled track record of success in the lower divisions made him an excellent choice, others seemingly didn't and it is difficult to be critical until we see who we actually get !

I'd struggle to know who to put in it. "Some bloke we've never heard of", "Some well thought of assistant somewhere", "Someone who we wouldn't have thought would be interested" "Someone in a job" and "Nicky Forster" would be my guess.

I realise that the board aren't interested in him or MA which is my point. I think they should be and am concerned they are looking at unavailable and unsuitable candidates instead. I do hope they prove me wrong, but I am struggling to think how they can.

We will have to agree to disagree, and not for the first time. There has been no dithering. Just because other out-of-work managers are free, it may not make them suitable for BFC. Having said that I wish Gary well in the future.

It shows the difference between us and Northampton and our ambitions. Gary Johnson is a good candidate for most jobs at this level, certainly at L2 level. In the past, we'd have had Johnson in as manager the day after Scott went. But as much as he wanted the job, we wanted better and are prepared to wait for it - Forster has given us that time. Whereas Northampton sack their manager and get Johnson in straight away. Don't get me wrong, I'd have liked Johnson as manager here and I think he's a great appointment for them but I'm seeing this as the board saying they know they can get better. As many keep saying, maybe "exciting times ARE ahead"...
Also should note Johnson has recently been overlooked by Charlton, Swindon and Sheffield Wednesday in this league who all have similar expectations as us, or in Swindon's case this season, less. Maybe he is seen as past it at this level now.

Think you quoted the wrong post !! I haven't accused anyone of dithering. The post you quoted was me agreeing with LesB's comment that we hadn't dithered !
We didn't want Johnson so we didn't go for him is my take. It now depends on who we end up with as to whether that is a disappointment.

A name that's only been sparingly mentioned is Sean O'Driscoll. Might not be at DRFC beyond this season and would be right up our street, given what MB and the board want to achieve. Again, another 'ambitious' name and might not be an option but the avoidance of Johnson shows us we're aiming high. Let's see what happens.

Shouldn't be talking of new managers atm.Mr Forster has got the gig now.Fans are pleased with the footy and it appears the players are happy too. So to all you people who want an experienced manager,what will you be saying if NF gets the Bees higher than 10th this season. I'll be the first to admit nicky is inexperienced but how will he get any if someone wont give him the chance to show what he can do. As soon as AS left the footy improved dramatically it seems. I had been saying under AS's regime thatI wondered if there was unrest in the dressing room with the players. We will probably never know the answer to that question but you never know.

I take your point and see where you are coming from. However, its not just about this season, its looking 3, 4 or 5 years ahead. I would like Forster to stay in some capacity but cannot see why we would not want to bring in someone who has already been successful in say the Championship. There will be a big investment in BFC to be made over the next few years so we need to reduce risk where we can, and by appointing an experienced manager (who has been successful playing good football) would certainly help imo.

I would not had minded GJ as manager and although he has signed a 2 and a half year contract today there will be clauses in his contract regarding if another club from higher division comes in for him ect.so he could still be on the the boards radar,surprised he didn't get the Swindon job though.With the turn around on and off the field since NF took over l think the board must be pretty pleased how things are going and the main point is that due to our current form we can take our time on the next appointment.

The club haven't dithered they've given the job to Nicky Forster and we don't need another poll because we have Nicky Forster as manager.

Correct, I'd be suprised if the board even bothered to interview anyone else. After a few good results NF was 100% certain to be manager. A big sigh of relief in the boardroom. If there was ever a shortlist I imagine it consisted of 1 name.

Well he's certainly difficult to please and a teeny weeny bit inconsistent to say the least.

Shut up! It's a win, win for us. We are aiming much higher than Johnson, which makes me very excited about the future. Fozzy has a chance, but only if he does an outstanding job.
This is a new ambitious BFC. And it's going to be a Brentford that wants to play football. And oddly...

I think he knows our limitations up front but had to play a careful vebal game.The frontline we have is not up to scratch and most of us know it but it might be what we have till the end of the season.
Maybe not though lets wait and see if he and MW have anything their sleeves after all it is still early days for them and they've only just been given the job properly.With the european academy contacts they've been talking about we might see some fantastic talent gracing the park
