Another Manager Poll

Forster has probably done enough to get the job IMHO. Having had to rely on AS squad, with just some loanees (all, bar Neilson, very inexperienced), I think his record in the league is W8 D2 L5 (with one win one draw in the JPT). Extrapolating that over a season would give us 79-80 points, comfortably into the play-offs. For a new manager, that's a very sound start

Another Manager Poll

Still someone new for me. I think we can get someone better than NF. Still fancy SOD at Donny

Why would O'Driscoll come to us ? If Donny sack him [ doubtful] he would be available but another Championship club might be interested based on how he plays and the limited resources he's had at his disposal. I just don't see the big alternatives out there. I'm very happy if Fozzy gets it and has the chance to assemble his own side.

Another Manager Poll

Boothroyd would be a suicidal appointment for the club. Can't see it but I am worried.

Another Manager Poll

To get rid of AS with his long ball tactics and replace him with Boothroyd would be complete madness. I cannot believe that the board could make such a decision. Stick with the TIPPY TAPPY PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Relax.:sorted:
I was lucky enough to have 5 minutes with the top player in all of this, within that time he convinced me of his love of football and that hoofball wasn't the way forward.

I think you need to PM Northampton Bee and make your case pronto - I heard this was a done deal....:sneakoff:

Relax. It's not Boothroyd. It's another available manager.

John Beck ;)

wonder if he'll sign any nice rapists for us the Watford c**t. on a par with Scott signing F**ham players on loan. for that reason i am out.

I can't see it being anyone other Nicky Forster although I'm not convinced that's the right move.

I'm happy to go with NF. It is always a gamble appointing a new manager - look at Johnson at Northampton. Anyone but not BOOTHROYD!!!!!!. I've wasted too much of this season watching sunday morning HOOFBALL!!!!!

I'd certainly favour NF over the likes of Boothroyd. I just feel the club needs a real shot in the arm and NF isn't it.

Now look here Favershambee. You better not let the three musketeers hear you, because statistically they willb on to you. although. no i better not go there. but from my point of view I am in 100% agreement with you. In fact this season has been my worst ever watching the bees. I know we had relegation seasons but they were in dire times . but as far as I am concerned our previous manager had a fair budget. Have to say I feel for the man who put the cash up.

It'll be a shame when they finally do appoint a permanent manager, 'cos then we'll have to close this thread.

And then start a new one so people like myself can rant at abee and co for the appointment. ;)

Just had a call from a friend up north (fairly well connected in football circles) and he asked me if I was happy that the current Rochdale boss would be our manager next season. Told him I would be happy, but it was probably a load of b******s. He just said just you wait and see. Maybe explains why he watched the match from the stands on Saturday and was quite generous in his after match comments.

Personally can't see it happening, but if it did happen I would not be unhappy.

I hope there's something in that as I've said all along, apart from the obvious big names in this poll who have managed in the Premier League, he'd be my number one choice. I also said I believe if we really wanted him, we could get him and I still think that.

I hope Rochdale don't go up!!

"Keith Hill will be Brentford manager because he watched the Rochdale v Brentford game on Saturday" is one of the stupidest conclusion jumps I have ever read.
No offence intended.

Another Manager Poll

Chapman on Late kick off said that there will be some development with regards to the Brentford managers job this week.

Another Manager Poll

Yes please to Keith Hill.

We don't want Flitcroft though.

Must have Nicky F as Asst, and Mr Warburton as first team coach.

Another Manager Poll

Praying that we can urge Keith Hill to Griffin Park and I hope the 'so called news' regarding Hill in this thread is true however my gut feeling is that we will have Forster at the helm for the start of next season.

Another Manager Poll

Probably going to be anounced this week according to Late Kick Off. If that's the case I doubt it would be Hill - he's hardly going to walkaway from the oppurtunity of back to back promotions and championship football, even if long term we are a bigger club than Dale.

Have talks even taken place yet? Mills prompted in the programme that the process will start at the end of the season. I agree with you that if it is to be announced this week that Hill will not be appointed due to Rochdale still vying for promotion.

Can't be anyone in work can it? So unless it's a ricket like Boothroyd, looks like it's Fozzy and the Breadman.:sorted:

Another Manager Poll

Just because Late Kick Off said it does not make it true. There has been a lot of lazy journalism regarding the post since it became vacant.

Another Manager Poll

Chapman on Late kick off said that there will be some development with regards to the Brentford managers job this week.

This would tie in with Forsters comments last week, that players out of contract at the end of season were keen on sorting their futures (Grabban, Wright, Hunt?, even Karleigh was talking about a new extended contract before Scott went, that was put on hold?) and that couldn't be discussed until a new manager was in place. Got the feeling that Nicky was pushing for a yes/no for the job immediately rather than seeing 4 games out.

If it is this week, I expect Forster to get the gig, if no decision by the Uddersfield game I expect he won't.

Another Manager Poll

It won't be Hoofroyd, I doubt that they have even considered him, the damage that can be done by even being linked with him is worrying. It will turn off players, fans and potential managers if they read that Hoofroyd is a shoe in, I'm all for letting the club know my feelings when I see a problem arising but this one is purely mental speculation.

Great manager but is there any evidence to suggeest he would know how to spend MB's money?

Is a fair point. A lot of managers prefer the 'miracle on a shoestring' tag, so we will have to wait and see. I like Mr Hill , the way he conducts himself, seems to have a real footballing brain

and he seems genuinely happy to be in football with a humbleness about him.
I ticked his name back in the day and would be very happy with that one, who knows.

Another Manager Poll

Unless we can land an exciting big fish - we will stick with Forster.

This is a bit worrying, but unless there is a clear "winner" out there, then I think this is the correct decision.

The Board will want to be more "in control" of the new manager, than they were of the last one.
I think Forster fits this description.
Perhaps Nicky would agree to a short contract, if the board were to lay these facts on the line ?
Perhaps he won't and the board will offer him a 2 year deal....what a decision to have to make - almost feel sorry for the board.

Alternatively, this could all be drivel and BFC could have approached a decent, but currently employed manager.
I would be surprised if this is the case....

Another Manager Poll

If that's true, then it's 100% not Keith Hill, as neither Rochdale nor himself are going to agree to an announcement being made when they're hot on the chase for the play-offs.
Even I can figure that out.

:imwith: These 12 month rolling contracts seem popular at the moment.

Sounds ominous, we need a strong manager who is his own man, not somebody that's appointed because he won't rock the boat and gets on well with Greg Dyke and the gang.

Andy Scott negociated a very nice contract for himself.
Decisions such as "dugout gate" highlight the power he had.

The new chap will have to be reigned in a little, for the sake of the club and hopefully for the benefit of the fans and the community. Club 1st - Manager 2nd - Players 3rd

Another Manager Poll

With all the talk surrounding decisions on all the trialists I think Nicky as manager is a done deal. As for "dugout gate", will the new Manager want them put back where they belong ?
They obscure so many seats in New Road, it's unbelievable the club ever agreed to Scott's whims ??

Another Manager Poll

Just can't see Mr Benham allowing a
novice like Forster to spend his £3milliom budget. I would be amazed if NF got the gig

As they have extended the away dug-out now to match the home one, I cannot see them being returned to the Braemar Road side sadly, thanks AS :banghead:

You may well be right.
If so what's the point of having so many trialists if the current manager isn't in a position to offer them contracts ?

Absolutely, which is why we are in a bit of a tangle. I can only assume we are happy to look at low cost low risk players for the time being before the main man gets to deal with the starting X1

The trialists are all very young, I doubt many are thought of as first teamers, we're entering some pretty big U19 etc tournaments next season, I took it that we are preparing for that with the hope that they may come through before our homegrown bunch are ready.
