Actually I love the way Stokes plays on the cricket pitch. Aggression is great and with Root one of my favourite English players. Let’s just hope for his future everyone can talk about his performance on the field.

I totally agree. He admitted trying to bribe the bouncer and admit having several drinks. I can't remember how many but it seemed a fair few. He needs some punishment from the ECB otherwise this lad culture will just carry on. I heard Baylis has imposed a curfew, so the players can't be trusted.

If the ECB want to treat the Aussie tour as some of the ban then so be it.

Bloke brandishing a bottle gets knocked out, seems to me that the jury felt that justice was dished out on the night of the incident and no further action was needed......or that the evidence to justify a conviction was ropey. Well done CPS, nearly 12 months and hundreds of thousands spent to reach that outcome.

Unbelievably just met up last night in Croatia with my English New Zealand based mate and his NZ wife and we were catching up about this summers cricket. Topic got onto Stokes and they were saying he has been nominated this year for NZ Sports Personality of the year but has declined the nomination but with gratitude etc. Then they told us of these events as obviously it was news back in the days in NZ. Was totally unaware myself. Then to read today that the Sun had dug up this 30 year old story is just another example of how low this paper sinks to sell papers. He wasn't even born at the time FFS and all they are doing is messing up his family. It was news in NZ all that time ago and thats where it should have stayed.

Add to that the disgusting comments by the Mail and Times yesterday about the RNLI and the right wing bias of the press in general. Not worth buying for bog paper let alone informative balanced news coverage.
It says much about what this country is becoming.

Any BFC fan who buys the Sun needs to have a word with themselves.
I have been banging on about how much this scum newspaper should be boycotted for many years yet people still buy it.
The same with SKY destroying football, don't moan and then pay your subscription.

Absolutely vile to publish that story and cause so much pain to his family and in particular his mum. She must have to live that everyday and now its dragged right back into the fore front of everything for her. No body needed to know that it's a family matter and was just done purely to grab a few quid from sales and clicks on websites.

I refuse to read The Sun anymore, used to be staple diet daily as a young man before smart phones.
I felt back then it kept me informed, I was so wrong, it’s just pages of poorly written, sensationalism as is the Mail. I trust before long both will join the ranks of Woolworths, Blockbusters, Pan Am and Kodak.

easy enough to find online. a murder that happened 30yrs ago. ridiculous to bring it up now. their justification for publishing it is bloody stupid too.

Absolutely abhorent. I used to work in a clinic for HIV patients. A massive part of the service is counselling and advising patients how to deal with a HIV diagnosis, importantly had to tell friends and family. The fact that the press have taken that from Gareth Thomas is deplorable.

Neither party comes out of the incident with much kudos and suspect both regret it ever happened.

On a side note. Ed Sheeran can probably feel most hard done by from this whole episode. He is now being used as an insult.
