Yarmo was already playing regularly in Ukraine’s top flight and was a year or two ahead of Frederick. Also CBs develop later and need game time to master their position. The quick, clever forwards in the PL (dare I say Watkins) would eat them alive and destroy their confidence.

I think the difference between the prem and championship not just skill but having these “units” in the squad. You can’t coach the latter.

It's strange how he's been as yet uncapped by Nigeria while a Bee. He was an U20 regular for half a season (U20 African Cup, U20 WC squads), joined Bees on loan, then nothing. Can only presume it was one of those where, like with Marcus Forss and the odd other prospect, it was seen that B team football was better for their development.

Arse have an 18 year old inverted left full back. Played twice a week for past few months. "Player of the Season" winner on Arseblog (a bit like Nick's platform for us).

They also have a seventeen year old who has scored 8 goals including CL as understudy for Saka and Odegaard.

If they are good enough they are old enough?!?

Arsenal have invested circa £40m in their academy in the last 3 years, their talent pool is significantly bigger than ours and they are more likely to have these "wonderkids" come out of their academy.

Even our top prospects will take a bit longer before they get up to Premier League level (if they ever do).

only 1 in 50 scholars (16+) make the first xi at big clubs.

but if they (or our!) players are good enough they are old enough !

Another respectful but....
this young man is (was) a B signing not Karleigh's Under 18s.

I live half the year in southern Africa and young black African men tend to mature quicker than many races, including white or coloured or mixed race people.

I’m assuming that you were referencing the two topics here; Benjamin getting his debut and on a separate bit of news, the crash in Nigeria.

Doing this in the same post looks odd, and could be misconstrued.
