Bellew in the 11th.

Boxing

Respect to Haye for trying on one leg.

Bellow barely beat a retiree with one leg no hope going forward

Boxing

never liked Haye - thought this whole comeback reeked of bullshit. well done to Bellew, although the commentator said something like "a star is born" and i must admit, my thought was more like Hullbee's - this only really showed that he's never gonna be THAT good.

Boxing

Hopefully this is the end of Haye. The guys a ****ing joke. He does all this wrestling style b***ocks promos which are clearly made up. He also just lost to a guy how many weights below him, having previously beaten some nobodies since coming out of retirement. The guys an absolute joke and his fights are based on b***ocks which undermine the sport. I really hope he retires and ****s offs never to be seen again.

I reckon his career is Panto and Reality shows from now on.

Utter b***ocks from start to finish. These boxing ppvs are an utter rip off (luckily i know people who are daft enough to pay for it lol ), average as **** boxers going through the motions following WWE style pre-fight promos. They 'hate' each other so much then spend half an hour jacking each other off at the end of the bout? Give us some bloody credit.

Mate, it was all hype otherwise no one would have bothered for what was a never was fighting a has been. They had to raise the £4M for Haye and just over half of that for the scally from somewhere?

Boxing

Beeb went across to Bunce at ringside before the start of the show tonight and he then told us he was more excited about this fight than anything before.
What a f***ing joke that the boxing fraternity has sold to the punters!

Boxing

I thought it was thoroughly entertaining, Bellew was the better boxer before Haye started tottering around like a tart in stilettos. I had a feeling Bellew would win so Mr William Hill more than covered the PPV costs. The Eggington fight was also decent.

As for Haye he doesn't have the speed that made him half decent in the past but he showed more ticker than I thought he was capable of.

Boxing

I'm with Whytleleafe. I thought the undercard was decent and the main event played out superbly. Just watched the replay so I could have a sober view on it. Fair play to Haye for the heart he showed but Bellew is the man. A great credit to his family. I actually think he could beat Deontay Wilder, not sure about Joseph Parker.

Two things I noticed. At the end of the sixth Shane McGuigan told Haye to stay in his corner throughout the next round and at about 90 seconds in to the seventh he had his towel in hand ready to throw it in. At the end of the fight the toad Eddie Hearns Junior jumped on Bellew's back only for Bellew to shrug him off dismissively.

Boxing

I don't think Bellew should hang around in the Heavyweight division. Drop back to Cruiserweight, 3-4 more fights and then call it a day on a high. I like him he comes across as a bit more genuine and down to earth than most boxers.

Is this the same David haye I'm thinking of? Arrogant arsehat if you ask me who gave it the big un saying he was going to put Bellew in hospital but was all hugs and kisses at the end

What? I didn't make any reference to David Haye, I was saying I like Bellew.

Probably more money at heavyweight rather than cruiserweight level? Can see him taking on Wilder or Parker. Maybe just 1-2 more fights though. He made the point several times afterwards that his family's financial future is now secure. That seemed to be his prime motivator.

He should retire and buy his estate and rename it The Dunboxin with his purse. Wilder vs Joshua next please

Now wilder V Joshua I think would be worth the 20 quid. Explosive

Boxing

Would not mind watching it but depends on what time the main event is. Think AJ will punish Klitchko pretty horrendously myself.

Boxing

I can only see Joshua winning on Saturday and think he will knock Vladimar out in the middle rounds, about 7th or 8th I reckon.

Talking to a retired boxing journalist today named Alan Hubbard who worked very closely with Colin Hart over the last 40 odd years and covered all the great fights globally for the broadsheets. He said that the youth and sheer power of Joshua should beat a nearly 42 year old Vlad but only if he stops him before it gets to round 8.

Boxing

Yep, got tickets for this, heading straight to Wembley from Fulham. Any other bees going?

That's pretty much how I see it. Joshua will find it hard to land the knockout shots against a disciplined Vlad but by the middle rounds he will have landed some big shots. If it goes beyond 8 or 9 rounds Vlad will be taking Joshua into unknown territory which will be interesting. I think it will be a fascinating if not spectacular fight.

Boxing

yep, very much looking forward to this :sorted:

Boxing

............no boat ,but in time for Scott Quigg...........

Boxing

Come on AJ!! :box:

Boxing

Is there some boxing contest on today??......would never have guessed with the lack of coverage on the BBC/TalkSport/SKY etc. this week.....

Boxing

Wow. Klitscko down. AJ down. Oh dear...

Boxing

What a round. What a fight. Superb 11th from AJ......

Boxing

Wow.

A cracking fight, that was hard.

Joshua did well, a bit raw around the edges, it was knackering watching it.

Boxing

Listened to the fight whilst filing after photographing The Vamps at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, what an occasion that turned into, great commentary, great boxing, top sport

You can't beat a good radio commentary, can you? I listened too, and it was compelling. There's always that slight delay when you hear the excitement of the commentator's voice and the noise of the crowd, when you have to ***** up your ears to hear what's actually happened. Mostly you're listening for a name. Absolute drama. It's a real art form to be able to paint an instant picture at the same time as conveying the emotion and excitement of the moment. The guy did it really well. Who was he? Nearly as good as Markybee. Seriously, Mark is brilliant at the above.

Boxing

that was brilliant. even the wife was gripped, bless her!!

fair play to both but that was fantastic for AJ, looked in such trouble but held on. quality.

Funny that! It was my wife that wanted to listen. And she hates boxing. Got caught up in the Joshua story. He's a popular lad.
