Hatton was not tested and I do think the fight would have been a lot shorter if the ref had not allowed Malignaggi to persistently hold and lower his head every time he was hit or in any trouble.

I wouldn't, Mayweather proved in the first fight he is a class above Hatton and the outcome would be the same. I would like to see Hatton vs Pacquaio at light-welter and then Hatton to retire.

Really enjoyed that Froch fight, both boxers took some unbelievable shots and never looked as if either was going to go down. Froch vs Kessler would be interesting although I think Kessler would have his measure.

Manny - that was amazing, overcame every disadvantage to outbox and punch a man who is a living legend. Cannot wait to see him vs hatton even if our boy loses out

Great performance by the Pacman, but didn't Oscar look old! Age and weight draining down to a weight he hadn't fought for a decade looked to take it out of him.
Pacman V Mayweather next would be great.

I couldn't be arsed to pay for it, but reading the reports, it definitely seems like Oscar has hit the wall. Hopefully he will retire now.

I watched an intersting programme about Dominic Negus last week. Apparently he still fights in unlicensed bouts. I'd love for him to have another crack at Audley as I think he still doesn't like him much :laugh:

Apparently he trains BJJ and people that have rolled with him say he is very strong and pretty handy.
However, David Haye is less than convinced.

Haye dismissed Maccarinelli’s claims:
"Believing you can be a star in the UFC just because you're good with your fists is like a cricketer expecting to win Wimbledon just because he's good at hitting a ball with a bat.
"Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts are two completely different disciplines and it would be foolish to expect to switch between the two and dominate.
"If Enzo Maccarinelli and Michael Bisping were to meet in the Octagon it would be a no contest - Bisping would beat Maccarinelli 10 times out of 10. Michael knows the MMA game inside out, whereas Enzo would be completely new to it. On the flipside, if Enzo and Michael met under boxing rules, Maccarinelli would be the one with his arm raised at the end. As a pure puncher, Enzo is by far the better of the two. After all, his job is punching people in the face.
"The problem Enzo would have in the UFC is that MMA rules incorporate various other skills aside from just punching. Would Enzo be able to defend Bisping’s knees? Would he be able to stuff Michael’s takedowns? Would Enzo even know how to react to being put on his back?
Would his footwork be as sharp fighting barefoot? The answer would probably be 'no' to all those questions."
Haye added that he also trains MMA:
"I've rolled around with MMA guys in the past - and even use British mixed martial artist James Zikic for sparring - and I know how hard it is to fight these guys. They are very physically strong and are very dangerous in the clinch and on the ground. Those are two positions that pro boxers are not used to. Also, despite always starting on my feet with these guys, I was finding myself taken to the mat eight times out of 10. That gives me a two in 10 chance of landing a hard punch and knocking my MMA opponent out. If Enzo can't land that bingo shot right away - and Bisping would be looking for it - he's likely to get kneed to hell and back or submitted in the blink of an eye. It really is apples and oranges."

I don't think it matters.
MMA doesn't pay as well as Boxing, so there is no financial reason for Boxers to move over.
When it comes down to it, if boxing had more fights like Froch vs Pascal and less fights like Khan vs Fagan then they would be outselling MMA on a reguilar basis.

Last night saw Wladimir TKO Hasim Rahman in a poor and uncompetitive match. Rahman had no idea how to anything to Klitschko and ate jab after cross after jab after cross for 6 and a half rounds before he was stopped.
Meanwhile, on the under card, On the undercard, former heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe, looking like a black version of Boxcar Willie from the Simpsons, made a comeback with an eight-round decision Gene Pukall.
Utterly ridiculous as in the lat 90's Bowe successfully convinced a court that he was brain damaged!!!

The fight is agreed in principle.
Fights are never confirmed until both protagonists have signed contracts. Haye says it is a case of dotting I's and crossing the T's.

Officials found what one doctor described as plaster of Paris hidden in the wrapped hands of Antonio Margarito shortly before the welterweight champion's title defense against Shane Mosley on Saturday at the Staples Center, leading to accusations that Margarito may have been trying to cheat.
According to Judd Burstein, the attorney for Mosley, Margarito had wet pads in the wrapping. Mosley's doctor, Robert Olvera, likened the material to the type of plaster used to make casts.
"It gets hard and mobile," said Olvera, who said he scratched the pad and "flakes of plaster of Paris" came off.
Burstein said he seized the pad removed from the wrapping and another pad found in Margarito's dressing room. Both were placed in a sealed box that was given to Dean Lohuis of the California Boxing Commission for further study.
Burstein said representatives of both boxers "discussed this exact issue" at Friday's rules meeting "and they went ahead and violated it."
After the suspicious pads were removed from Margarito's dressing room, the boxer's hands were rewrapped and the fight went off on time. Because the violation was caught before Margarito stepped into the ring, Margarito's camp will likely be subject to little more than a disciplinary action if the substance is found to be illegal.
Nazzim Richardson, the trainer for Mosley, was the first to notice something unusual about Margarito's wrap job and asked officials to take the tape off. That's when the foreign substance was discovered, seized and placed in a box for investigation after the bout.
"That's a serious offense," an official with Golden Boy, Mosley's promoter, said. "That's cheating."
Mosley was informed of the discovery before the fight, Burstein said. According to the lawyer, Mosley said he took that as evidence that Margarito "was scared" going into the bout.
Todd duBoef, president of Top Rank, Margarito's promoter, shrugged and said he was told only that "additional gauze" had been taken off his fighter's hand wraps.
