I get the idea that a lot of successful boxers "act hard".
I think it's in the Job Description

Yeah but he'd spent the previous 10 years being as bland as a bowl of bran flakes to keep the sponserships rolling in.

He doesn't know who or what he is unless Eddie Hearn tells him first.

Boxing

He clearly carries power but has always been suspect getting tagged with left hooks (ruiz and Whyte) and straight rights (Dubois and Klitchkow). He's earned millions in the past 12 years. Time to move over ro the younger crop of heavyweights coming through.
I like the look of Moses Ituama who is an excellent southpaw prospect.
Well done Dubois, thoroughly deserved this scalp.

Boxing

Yes because it still puts bums on seats and generates an income.
They,The Sauds, have taken over and if they want the fight they get it and the promoters are just hanging in there with their boxers who will soon be The Saudis fighters not Hearns or Warren.
Boxing will have its LIV (Roman numerals for 54) moment, but no idea how many it will entice over.
40 would be XL .
XL Promotions present fight nights from where ever
And thats what is wrong with
Heavyweight boxing.
Fights that absolutely nobody wants to watch

Heavyweight boxing is in great health and there is a half decent top 10 all wanting fights that have to be put on so the fighters get paid and trainers can train and we the general public can choose to watch.
There are fights we want to see and then there are those we maybe not interested in,but you never know what we may well see in those and that is the beauty of boxing.
Some really good bouts on the horizon and for boxing enthusiasts it is very good times.

Agreed mate. Recently Bakole beat USA's next great hope Anderson by KO. Anyone can beat anyone in this division. I'd say Usyk is comfortably in a league of his own though currently.

Usyk is number 1 and the man to beat.
Superb boxer and a brilliant champion who has taken them all on and won.

The days are numbered for Hearn and Warren now that the Saudis have pushed their way in. Its quite funny watching Warren, who's family are notoriously horrible, bow down to the Saudis. They have no choice as they are unable to take on an entire regime, and it's killing them inside.

Boxing

The whole thing, all of it (professional boxing generally), I just find very tedious and grubby nowadays. Used to love it but last 5 years I just can’t be a*sed with all the white noise and crap. Has completely eroded my interest.

Boxing

The boxing on Saturday night should be a superb watch. As much as dislike the Saudis, the card is excellent

Boxing

It’s should be a fantastic fight.
They are both different, but superb boxers.
I think Bivol will win as he is a better technician, but the other fella is explosive.

Saudis will sign all the big boxers up.
They go straight to the fighters as it is now and ask who they want to fight.
And at all weights too.

Boxing

No way Beterbiev won 8 rounds - had Bivol by 1 so I can see the draw but the 116-112 is a joke and these kind of scorecards just lend weight to corruption allegations and are no good for the sport.

Boxing

Superb, tactical fight. Bivol was excellent at moving around to stop Beterbiev stalking and landing.

Bivol won the fight for me.

I've noticed that all the fighters immediately praise the Saudi Kingdon and that Turki fella. Every single fighter. I assume they are hung, drawn and quartered should they forget.

Boxing

Given up paying for these box office events or even looking for a stream these days and yet another, by the sounds of it, dodgy decision doesn’t make me want to rush back.

It was an excellent fight and a card full of interest. You're missing out on an exciting chapter for boxing, whether you agree with the Saudi finance or not.

A few talking points from the card:

- Whittaker's hype train has fallen off the tracks, a little bit of a step up and he realised he wasn't as good as he's been told, massive questions over the legitimacy of that leg injury
- Jai Opetaia is the real deal, seriously impressive
- Fraser Clarke may never recover from a 1st round knock out, reminded me of Wilder v Zhang
- Conor Benn deserves nothing, rich little daddy's boy
- Bivol won that fight, I rewatched it and came to the same conclusion

It's an exciting time for boxing either way.

Agree with all of that. If I was Billam-Smith I'd steer clear of Opetaia for as long as possible. The Clarke knockout was worrying as his face just drooped and he couldn't move for a few seconds so hopefully he is OK.

Yeah I don’t doubt it but having subscriptions to DAZN, sky sports and TNT - I’ve got the point where it’s becoming really annoying to fork out even more to watch anything decent on the various box office offerings. One expense I can’t justify :(

Broke his jaw, having surgery - ouch

Boxing

Beterbiev a winner v Bivol for me. And I'm a fan of both men.

Beterbiev was stronger, continuously marched Bivol down, landed more meaningful punches, and edged the contest.

Bivol's punches mainly landed on Beterbiev's gloves. And he was the weaker fighter in the last quarter of the fight. Bivol was disappointed with his own performance.

Talk of Beterbiev moving up to Cruiserweight. I'd say he'd be tempted to fight Billam-Smith. I see a straight forward stoppage win for Beterbiev there.
