I’m totally to with you on the volume of iffy decisions in boxing. Not sure this was one though.

Huni went down with 1:28 left of the round. The referee waved it off at 1:17 with Huni still stumbling round the ring and unable to get his gloves up.
Huni wasn’t getting up from that was he. I think Huni won every round up to then including Carl Framptons weirdly gifted first 2 rounds to Huni. I felt very sorry for him but he took it like a champ.

Heavyweights stock rarely rises when knocked out but dare I say it it did in this case.

Boxing

Okolie fight not all that, hoping the main event might be bit more exciting

Boxing

Dubois comprehensively knocked out by Usyk.

Too easy.

Boxing

No one left for him to beat is there? No one that stands half a chance anyways

We'll have to agree to disagree, I think when Tyson was at his height they're on a par with each other. However Tyson fell away far to quickly, due to too many sharks wanting a piece of him, and Don King doing him no favours.
Tyson was at a peak from beating Berbick in 1986 to beating Frank Bruno in Feb 89.
I remember Tony Tucker took him the distance and gave him a good fight, but Pinklon Thomas,Tony Tubbs,Carl Williams and Michael Spinks did not.
An ageing Larry Holmes managed to get to the 4th round in that time.
Iron Mike blew after Douglas beat him in Tokyo and was never the same again and of course going to jail did him no favours.
In 1985 Mike had 15 pro fights. In 1986 he had 12 resulting in a world title. He was explosive and Boxing needed him at the time.
In the mid 90s he beat a 35 year old Frank Bruno to win the WBC and the legend that is Bruce Seldon for the WBA that he eventually lost too Holyfield.
Tyson will always be a legend, but Usyk is,imo,a different class altogether.Totally different to all the others except for Lennox Lewis.

A good conversation though i have to say.

Whyte v Ituama tonight. Big step up for the youngster. Would love to see him given rounds.
Whyte spent more time pricking about in the changing room than in the ring.

Nice boxing from the new guy.

I think we all would love to see him given rounds, but the opposition seem to crumble in the first.
Where does he go next ?
Zhilei Zhang or Martin Bakole ?
Up another level.

He is above that level already.
The trouble is, who does he fight?
It’s Usyk out front by miles, then a gaggle of bang average journey men.

Maybe Fabio Wardley. Very dangerous puncher but not in the same league with Ituama boxing skills.
Good shout - Wardley on the cusp of world level so another step up from a shot Whyte. Outside of Usyk it is a poor division so I'd expect Itauma to have 2 or 3 fights next year then fight for a world title assuming he comes through those.

Parker would be a good test in 12 months time IMHO

Can’t see an undefeated boxer fighting another, just yet.

Both will want to progress further before having to face eachother.

For Itauma, it has to be one of those that want to climb back up the ladder, such as Whyte hoped! lol

Maybe Bakole, Hunter or Zhang? Hrgovic?!

We’ll soon see, as Itauma hoped to be a world champion before tyson won a title! Too late now….

Take a bow Terence Crawford. A boxing masterclass.
Such a good boxer - if it was me I'd retire unbeaten and a history maker who is probably pound for pound king right now too.

Canelo will no doubt carry on but he is dwindling and should seriously consider his legacy if he continues because he doesn't beat the top guys any more IMHO

If he did get the reported $150m from this fight he has more money than he will ever need and can set his family up for life too.
