Boxing

Embarrassing for the sport of Boxing tonight.
How one judge sees a fight 114 - 111 in favour of the boxer who gets knocked down and deducted a point is beyond me.

Boxing

Got to feel sorry for catterall would have dreamt of that moment since a young kid and should now be a world champion. Disgusting not sure if it is down to incompetence or corruption.

Boxing

Boxers risk their lives in the ring give everything spend time away from families and they have to deal with decisions like that. Disgusting

Boxing

I’ve scoured loads of boxing sites and I can’t find one person who thinks it was even close, let alone that Taylor won it.

Boxing

That decision last night is the reason why boxing maybe withdrawn from the Olympic Games.
The judge who scored 114-111, with a 3 point deduction, would have given Taylor 117.
That's 9 rounds out of 12.
Jack gets 3.
Think of it that way.
9 flicking 3 ?

Would have been 116-112 as one of the deductions was for Catterall. Point still valid though at 8-4, an utter disgrace and found Taylor's reaction after the fight embarrassing and lacking class. I hope he can see how lucky he was after reflecting outside the heat of the moment.

I've never felt as much disappointment and anger towards poor judging than I had last night and I wanted Taylor to win. What's a real shame for Catterall is I've no doubt he'll come back and fight for world titles, but it's incredibly unlikely he'll have an opportunity to fight for all 4 major belts plus the ring magazine belt given the politics in boxing, and thus will possibly never get the chance to be considered undisputed King of the division, nor a pound for pound star. He was robbed of truly iconic history yesterday and to be amongst a very small list of real elite fighters that have held all 4 major belts at one time.

Major enquiry is a necessity here.

Totally agree with everything you said.
My apologies for missing Jack's deducted point.

Boxing

Worst decision I’ve seen since Alan Minter was robbed in his fight with Mustafa Hamsho.

Boxing

That’s a massive cop out by the BBBC.
Of course his scorecard effected the result, as Catterall clearly won the fight.
I think even Stevie Wonder could have scored it better.

Boxing

That is ridiculous. Take away his shocking scorecard and it should be scored a draw so how has it not impacted the result. I'm also sure that the WBC, WBO, IBF are really going to listen to the BBBoC and make him the mandatory challenger  They ruined his moment on the big stage and his career will probably never be the same because of it.

Boxing

Wood v Conlan.

I hope Conlan is ok. He fell horribly out of the ring when he was knocked out.

Boxing

Conor Benn won inside 2 rounds last night. Decent finish, but like his dad, he’s got to learn how to box properly. The top level fighters would dismantle him without breaking sweat.

Boxing

Tyson Fury coming out to his open workout and the weigh in to FFD. You love to see it

Boxing

Whyte can hit big enough to KO Fury. The problem he’s got is that the slimmed down Fury suggests he’ll look to box at range and keep Whyte away with the jab.

It’ll be more like the Fury v Klitschko than the one v Wilder.

Boxing

Obviously saving FfD for the boxing.

Boxing

......I watched ABA home international boxing in the Kelvin hall Glasgow in the late 60s early 70s with my old dad.....he was a flyweight boxer in the King's own Scottish Borderers.....that wasn't boxing tonight......but my son enjoyed it.....times change.

Boxing

Fury says he is done, not sure i believe it but if it is then its a huge shame we havnt seen him fight aj. Probably good news for joshua though
Joshua could not afford to lose to Tyson and that is why it didn't happen.
It was meant to be last night
