Dean made a mistake and it cost us. Otherwise he was solid and distributed the ball well. Physically we are much stronger with Dean and Tarks. I'd be surprised if Warbs makes any change next week. As has been said if we had taken at least one of the chances that came our way we would have got something from the game. Overall we went head to head with a top team and more than matched them.

What's disappointing is that we only seem to concede goals due to our own mistakes. This isn't stopping.

Maybe it's just time to think of getting different people in. Easier said than done. But I think we would of only conceded 20 goals this season if we didn't mess up

True, but we have a young team, that's mostly not been playing together for years, and now at a higher level. They'll (hopefully) learn from their mistakes and should only improve by regularly playing together.

Probably an unpopular choice but would like to see tarks and Craig for a spell. Love dean for his passion and grit and don't have as big an issue with his mistakes as some but his distribution can be wayward, he certainly gives the ball away more than other players. Has struggled for me in this area.

Veering off at a tangent - & in the absence of a ready-made striker arriving in the window - perhaps we're going to make one? " Take 6'3" of uncoached Centre Back...."

Alternatively, we're going to keep signing Centre Backs until we find the next John Charles (or Dion Dublin).

With the go-ahead given for babies to be conceived by 3 people's DNA I think we should use the next international break to take advantage of medical science and merge 3 into 2. This thread can then be closed.

I think we've seen this season that all 3 have mistakes in them and we've 'given away' plenty of goals. I can see why we were in the market for another CB, for now I think Warbs will continue with the Dean/Tarks partnership.

Think we are more than in the market for centre back after tonight, desperate might be the term if Tarks doesn't recover in time for Sat. The way he was moving doesn't bode well for a quick recovery, not the first time hes had this injury. We are also short of a left back for a couple of games and Gray needs a rest, the kids knackered.

Perhaps we won't send O'Connell out on loan as promised?

Although not an ideal situation, there was a noticeable improvement in our distribution from the back from Craig and Dallas; a pity there was not the same improvement in our defending but I put a lot of that down to the covering midfielders dropping so deep and conceding the space in front of them.

Craig will play if Tarkowski is injured and, if Bidwell's red card isn't overturned, then we have McCormack or Yennaris to come in

Whoops missed that with everything else going on, maybe we'll play Nico or Mac at LB and Craig in the centre. Hopefully Tarks isn't out for too long I feel if he had stayed on it might have been a different result last night.

Feel your right mate about the result. Their first goal came from a cross that went over Craigs head ( not blaming him !) But Tarks would have got his head to it, I'm sure.

If club were appealing would'nt we have heard by now ? If you loose appeal I thought the ban could be extended.

Maybe Craig should have been marking tighter? IMO it was clear that Craig isn't as strong a presence as Tarky. Putting suspensions or injuries to the side IMO he's now third choice in all aspects.

I posted this morning in hope there would be an announcement that we're appealing, as I think we've got a case. It can only be extended if the appeal is deemed "frivolous", which I certainly don't think it would be.

I guess club will only appeal having consulted expert witness opinion, so looks like no appeal at this stage.

Didn't he just mate, but I'll put that down to lack of fitness. My amazement is that posters are happy to go with Mcormack who's just back and not fully fit and Yanaris( scuse spelling on both, its been a long day !!) to cover these vital positions. TC himself is well short of match fitness at the moment. Then after the last 24 hours I'm thinking, we're safe from relegation feck it does it really matter this season is probably b***ocksed now anyway.
