Clinton Morrison

Since his arrival we have won five on the bounce. Obviously a lucky mascot, or maybe he has a big influence in the dressing room. If this run goes on and on, maybe we should offer him a contract for next season. If we start falling apart then we can show him the door (only joking).

With the greatest respect, I haven't seen anything that has convinced me that he is worth investing what would likely be an enormous amount of money on wages. Great loan signing though.

Clinton Morrison

Has not done much on the pitch, his role as team motivator off the pitch seems to working ok though.

Clinton Morrison

I think his quality shines through, despite clearly not being fit. His movement, positioning, control etc. is a cut above many in this division. If we were to sign him permenantly and get him fitter over the summer I think the goals would come and he would prove to be a very good signing.

Clinton Morrison

I like his influence on the team, and his character comes through on the pitch.

I think he has been a great short term signing, but the potential wages per week would be better spent elsewhere in my honest opinion.

I would guess we could sign a permanent striker and get a young on loan for the amount it would cost to keep Clinton (just a guess mind) ....

Clinton Morrison

I dont think he has done much when ive seen him on the pitch and would not want to sign him at the moment considering the sort of wages he'd want

Clinton Morrison

I think he looks pretty classy, good movement off the ball but he is clearly not totally fit and he tired in the second half.

If we won't break the bank for Karleigh I would be annoyed if Clinton was signed as a top earner. He is worth an offer on our terms, but he is past his prime.

Two points of interest that may sway Uwe's decision about keeping him. First, the way he tugged Sam away from Schumaker and calmed him down after he retaliated to the foul on Douglas - then followed that up by doing it all over again when the ref. spoke to him and Sam looked like he wanted to go to war with the short fat oaf. It showed Clint's experience and influence. The second point was the way Daviniho went running across to high-five him when he was subbed - seemed as if they are building a bit of togetherness, a team-within-a-team if you like.

I think the budget issue will be key plus whatever irons are in the fire this summer re strikers. His experience on the pitch has already been evident but it might not be the crucial factor.

Clinton Morrison

To be fair that was a good interview, to be fair.

And Constantly pulling and pushing the defender when it would be easier to simply play the ball

IMO that's all you'll get but he won't be here next season so don't panic. To his credit [ to be fair] he is in and around the danger area which is where a striker should be-unfortunately he's got a puncture.

Clinton Morrison

Only stopped from scoring by a great block from a defender.

Clinton Morrison

not been overly impressed by what ive seen in the games he has played

Clinton Morrison

Not what we need............:nono:

Clinton Morrison

We need a minimum of two and possible four new strikers for next season. I'm certain that Uwe and Mark W know this and it is comforting that we've already got a winger/striker lined up... but he's a (worthwhile) gamble, not a first-choice. We need a target man to wear the number 9 shirt; Morrison was a pick of what was available to us as the window closed but I can't for one moment image he's got more than a couple of weeks left with us.

do you want him to stay, done wonders for team spirit?

He is a stop gap nothing more nothing less. It will not make any difference he is not the future and will be gone for next season I am sure of that.

before he came we won 4 games from 19 in all matches played...

Clinton Morrison

Not seen him for myself but seems to have been a positive influence without banging em in. Whether he joins us for the season next year is another question. Potentially Rossler could be in a lose-lose situation with the fans on this one. Difficult to justify signing a veteran striker of the goals aren't flowing and yet if he is let go, people will point to the run we've been on while he has been here.

Adrenaline is flowing in the team on this current run. I guess everyone is wondering if he could do it for 46 games

Clinton Morrison

Wouldn't be unhappy to see him next season as part of a four man striker sqaud but he will probably want more than that and I have little doubt he will have his suitors.

We need strikers who score goals? Past it at this level I am afraid.

Clinton Morrison

My first look at him yesterday , not what we need im afraid. Need someone who looks hungry for goals and will get in where it hurts, thats not morrison at this stage of his career.Would be another carl cort if we signed him imho.

Clinton Morrison

He can join in the summer, but only as our 4th choice striker. And I doubt he'll be happy with that.

His legs have gone and he isn't up to L1 level. He uses all the tricks in the book, backs in, pulls shirts and and while I'm sure he's been a positive influence on the training field and in the dressing room, he's offered nothing in the games he's played. I would only think he could play home games as well, as his workrate isn't up to it for away games and how we like to play.

Clinton Morrison

Good fun whilst he has been here and certainly good for morale however possibly past his sell by date. Not for me I am afraid

When he was able to play I would of prefered Cort over Morrison.

I hope you're right.
God knows where we're going to find the strikers we need. Billy Clarke anyone?

He would probably be more expensive that Alexander & I don't think we would want to pay that sort of salary unless we were totally convinced that his fitness levels could be vastly improved. You can tell that he WAS a player, but at present that looks like a confirmed past tense!

I truly don't understand all the info we are given about what we require from loan signings - 'hit the ground running' etc - & then sign an unfit player who hasn't 'played for months' by his own admission. It smacked of desperation to me at the time & although he seems to have done a good motivating job, we seem to have played for large periods of games a player light imo. As someone else has said, the Berahino fiasco has cost us, and, in truth, having only had one striker for the run-inis has been a major issue. How on earth did Wycombe sign Trotta & Hayes, or Crawley Billy Clarke? What a difference the latter two in particular would have made to us. Even Benson could have been a useful loanee.

Clinton Morrison

Billy Clarke isnt even banging them in regulary for Crawley, he didnt do it for Sheff UTD so what makes anyone think he could do it for us?

Clinton Morrison

If Morrison has done so much to lift team spirits then sign him to the coaching staff if you must, but he looks well over the top as a player.

Clinton Morrison

We are playing with 10 men at the moment if Clintons performance yesterday was anything to go by. When he got winded early on it was like watching a punctured ball with the air gradually going out of it. His only approach seems to be backing into the defender and slowly falling over while he trys to lay the ball off. How he can be considered a better option than German or playing a 5 man midfield with Forrester is beyond me.
He may have encouraged the team but he certainly isn't worth a place. FFS dont even think of signing him.

NLB has already said Crawleys style of football doesn't suit him... on another note, Clinton scored near one every game for the mongs whilst on loan.

Truth is I don't know is Billy still has it or not, though I reckon our style would suit him more than Crawley's does.
What I'm getting at anyway is that unless we unearth an undiscovered gem, I think we are going to have to pay a bit in wages at least to get the kind of forward who can help us to get promoted.

Clinton Morrison

I think he may have been a contributory factor but he's not the reason we've gone on a roll. A bigger factor will be to get a couple of strikers in who can score goals.

Clinton Morrison

Seems to have had a positive influence on the squad, but he's far from match fit; you can see his skill and experience when the ball comes straight to him, but where movement is needed, he's not up to it.

Clinton Morrison

Morrison provides far less of a goal threat than either Macdonald or Alexander did. Surely not the answer for us on the sort of salary he would expect.

Clinton Morrison

I would rather play German now (at least he runs about), Morrison does not give us anything on the field of play.

Clinton Morrison

@morrisonclinton: Big game tomw need to get the 3 points tomw I'm fully fit now so I'm expecting goals come on you bees
