Given the quality of our loans signing strikers so far, why didn't Leroy look at this bloke, who I think we were interested in before he became more in demand up the tree.
You would think that he would be interested in a move to London over an even further trip north. :sad:

He probably got a top tip of a bloke called Anthony from Stoke who supports Arsenal, couldn't find him so drove to swindon instead.

It's funny, a few people have mentioned his name since he's scored a few goals in Falkirk's last few games. Why couldn't those fans have mentioned his name before his move....

Can we please stop all this b***ocks about JG's and LR's contacts in football. JG knows Barry Fry and thats about it, apart from his family connections to Bristol City. As for LR, I have him down as a liar and the fools on the interviewing panel fell for it, stand up Greg Dyke and Brian Burgess to name but two :sorted:

Perhaps we couldn't afford his wages :idea:

Or their are a few ex arsenal youth teams players at falkirk and he wanted to be with his mates.

Stokes is a well known but young Arsenal striker (ie: 17) - a prolific goalscorer at youth level - who started playing for their reserves last season but played a lot as a wide right player rather than a central striker. Perhaps he is now reverting to the striker role. I believe he played against us in the FA Youth Cup.

There are a number of v young (17yo) prem reserve players around who may be a risk at our level - Simpson (Arsenal), Stokes, Reid (W Ham) Walker (Charlton), Sinclair (Chelsea) to name a few - and some older (19/20 yo) who are likely to be physically stronger - O'hara, Mckenna, Lee, Daniels (Spurs), James, Collins (Fulham), Smith, Mancienne (on loan at QPR from Chelsea), Sankofa (Charlton). Unless all of their wages are paid it is now doubtful that we would get any of these players in the current climate in any case & I guess that would include Stokes.

It seems to me that James Simmonds is playing v little reserve football at Chelsea & they may be happy for us to take him without paying his wages with perhaps other provisions 'built in' eg: a permanent deal for next season?
The only reason that I could imagine that we would want to 'trial' him.

...............and I was just highlighting your opinion on the appointment of our present (at the time of writing) manager, and your reasons for so doing....which I would say is getting it wrong......and so that others on here didn't get taken in by your opinion as expressed in your "It's funny...." post......


.................and you were so nearly correct......but the word you were searching for was 'pathos'......I can see the similarity with 'pathetic' of course, but it would appear that someone has ripped out the last one-third or so of your dictionary...................

they must think that a supposedly 'target player' is needed to be up front along with Kuffour. Why? i have no idea. I'd pay off this clown Wijnhard and telling him to bugger off.

Moore has made a greater contribution in his worst game this season than Wijnhard or Fola have in their best game.

Moore and Kuffour up front seems like a bit of a no brainer to me .

No arguments with what Scott has done, but it's hardly ruthless to Clyde. We'll have paid off the short period left on his contract, and told him he needn't lay off the mince pies as we won't be using him over the holiday period. Ruthless would have been making him train on Christmas Day and then telling him he wasn't wanted

There was no way of getting out of the rest of his contract. He could have let it run out and just not played him but he didn't. He told the world on the OS so we all know what Scott thought of him.

Great news that the useless Dutchman has finally gone - I was going to say flown away, but he couldn't even jump let alone fly!:wave: :wave: and good riddance I say. Never liked the bloke - a total waster and waste of money.

(presumably so that he could perform his rightful role on 25th, that of the Christmas fairy............)
