Coin Throwing..

Coin Throwing..

1. Do you think there's anything wrong with throwing coins or do you think it's just a bit of harmless fun ?

2. If you accept it's wrong, do you think there should be a "punishment" for someone who does it ?

3. If that punishment is announced in advance, no matter how severe it is, and the offender continues offending, do you think he/she has any defence ?

1) Yes

2) Yes

3) Yes. But a lifetime ban is excessive. That's all I'm saying.

Coin Throwing..

I can't believe that the CCTV at Griffin Park is so ineffective that the club/police can't identify a few nobheads lobbing stuff?

I get what you are saying but surely if that person if forewarned of the consequences, it's his problem if he/she perserves ?

To be honest, I don't think lifetime is particularly excessive as I don't understand what would go through someones head to do it, yet alone do it when they know the possible consequences

I'm not sure how old you are, but I'd guess there's a fair chance that, at some point when you were young, you did something a bit stupid at a football match. And if you didn't, then loads and loads of people do. Are you really saying that it's right they should still be paying for that 60 years later?

Coin Throwing..

Too old to remember but that's irrelevant. If I had of been doing something stupid and then the club announced I would get a lifetime ban if I persisted, I would have stopped. Simple as.

All I do remember though is that I've never done anything at a football match which could have physically harmed a supporter, an official or a player.

Coin Throwing..

I wouldn't feel sorry for them if they got banned for life. I was sitting near the lady who was hit at the Millwall game, very sad
This was one of the worst things I have witnessed at GP. I was sitting the row in front and remember ducking out the way of the coins being thrown. My relief at not being hit soon turned to guilt when I turned to see the poor lady covered in blood. Life ban should be the minimum price to pay. If you do that in the street you be banged up!
Not sure if has been mentioned earlier, but didn't the old bill escort the culprits up through hate corner so a few bees fans could get a couple of sly digs in?

the CCTV is as useless as the speaker in our Ealing Road end.. also the Bee fan who let off the smoke bomb was caught on CCTV lighting it behind someone back at Fulcum..

Coin Throwing..

why not make gp a cash free ground, stewards search fans going in, make it clear coins are not permitted and have all vendors take card only

oh my lord lol lol lets get more cameras in and more laws...in fact lets have a camera on everyones head and then it will be great.....big brother future nanny state for everyone.....love it lol

how about the police and stewards do their job for what they are payed for and find who does it and throw them out.....probably better eh ;)

and lets also not make out this is a great big deal which is ruining gp cos its not.....and just to add that if some of the away players want to overly celebrate in front of the home fans this is what happens unfortunately....the players have a big part to play in this too ;)

nothing to see here, lets move on and get on with the business of winning this feckin game tomorrow please :)

Coin Throwing..

In fairness, coins are the worst of it here, abroad you get explosives lobbed at goalkeepers

Coin Throwing..

Perhaps some of us can point the idiots out ,not hard to see someone throwing something......simples!

youre not wrong....its so safe at the football here now that the slightest little thing like an empty plastic bottle being thrown on the pitch suddenly becomes a major incident......we're probably the nicest fans in the whole world now but dont tell some on here that, as they will tell you its still like syria on a bad day still lol usually the first ones who get millwall flu and arent seen at gp or the den even if we needed a win to go up and it was free to get in lol

Coin Throwing..

I can't see there is any excuse for criminally dangerous behaviour, no matter what your age is. If you're old enough to attend a football match on your own, then you're old enough to understand this. I can understand a lesser ban for an action that is essentially harmless, like being excessively drunk, but an action that can only be intended to cause harm does not have mitigating circumstances.

Coin Throwing..

If people here had their way some kid would have chucked a farthing or a sovereign at a player in the 1938/39 season and still be paying for their heinous crime now.

If a sovereign was thrown there would have been a pitch invasion. :thetruth:

Coin Throwing..

I've never thrown anything other than verbal abuse at football but I have been hit by coins and bottles thrown by cheeky scamps. Not clever and sodding painful. I did once see a bottle lobbed from the Royal Oak end which laid out the Swansea centre half, late 60s and there were no repercussions at the time. I know people can "lose it" in the heat of the moment but I have seen lighters and coins chucked from the right side of ER this season so surely it must be possible to identify these *****.

I watched Brentford in the 4th Division sober once. Does that count? :suspect:

Coin Throwing..

I think I can quite categorically say I've never done anything at a football match to risk harming another human being, whether it be a fan, official or player. (well, apart from the odd occassional silent but violent).

So you're the Phantom Farter of Ealing Road.

Coin Throwing..

Perhaps some of us can point the idiots out ,not hard to see someone throwing something......simples!

I can't believe that nobody knows who these people are.

They're probably just showing off in front of their mates and chav girlfriends, and end up laughing and joking about it.

Coin Throwing..

Coin throwing needs to be stamped out, but lifetime bans for throwing objects is too harsh. Half of the old New Road terrace would still be serving bans now for lobbing chomp bars on the pitch.

Coin Throwing..

id rather that then slashing the ealing rd capacity.....the club are usually pretty hopeless at locating these fans

So how am i going to buy my beers in the pub before .........

Coin Throwing..

One of the best coin throws I seen was the one that hit Mark Walters from hate corner all them years ago...

Can't think of many others were the desired impact occurred

Coin Throwing..

why not make gp a cash free ground, stewards search fans going in, make it clear coins are not permitted and have all vendors take card only

They'd only find a way to throw the cards

Coin Throwing..

Who remembers the famous flob thrower on sieb diskjstra the Wycombe keeper. Poetry in motion. Disgusting but memorable . Forgive spelling

Out of £15 thrown at him something had to hit the target.

Coin Throwing..

More coins today? The ref gave something to a steward. Idiots.

Coin Throwing..

From the same place as usual. Some real hard men! FFS stewards, kick them out and do your job!

Coin Throwing..

The burger that hit Mark Stimson was superb. I wish I had seen the pint soak Mr Robinson. Coin throwing is pointless at the best of times and if it is going to cost Brentford part of our capacity then anyone who loves the club won't do it.

the pint over robinson was immense......one of those moments you never forget.....him trying to take on 8 stewards on his own afte was even more funny lol nothing wrong with certain players and managers getting their come uppance....i love natural justice and all that lol wish someone had done the same to the little ginga turd of a manager today, he is so obnoxious that a hatfull of 50ps wouldnt be enough

After the warnings, still some imbecilic lame-brain still decides it's clever. Is the CCTV pointed over there? I really hope whoever it is is identified, there must be enough in that area to know who it is.

there is one above our heads that's as useful as a chocolate teapot i reckon..

Had a look around er, there's one camera just behind the goal but I couldn't see any others up in the roof? Is that all we have?

Also 4 flares today and no one kicked out for them (as far as i could see). If you can't find something as visible as a flare how are you going to pinpoint a coin thrower?

A Bolton fan got kicked out after their 1st, don't know if it was for the smokebomb though

Coin Throwing..

Cheers everyone, say goodbye to any chance of standing in the Premier League at either GP or LR.

Coin Throwing..

Correct all smoke bombs which are no danger to the great unwashed

Having been in Ealing Road yesterday and downwind of these counts, I suspect they are a danger to anyone with asthma or other breathing difficulties. Still as long as you think it's more important to be an "ultra" than respecting the wishes of the majority eh?

And as said above: we just said goodbye to being able to stand in the Premiership either here or at Lionel Road.

So you can't throw coins at all seater stadia?? Never happens??

Smoke bombs can't be let of at all sitter stadia??

Agree about your asthma point and made me chuckle at Walsall when a young punk asked everyone around whether they had asthma and then satisfied no one gmhad let one off a smoke bomb that is.

Coin Throwing..

I stand on left side as I am not into being cover in smoke from the right preferring the smells of the phantom farter...

You can identify people more easily in an all seater stadium
