I'm not a manager out merchant but do feel the need to question things from time to time.
We're constantly told that the manager is hamstrung by AS's players, however two of his major signings have been replaced at various times throughout the season by loanees, both Logan & Eger.
This does suggest to me that either they're not Uwe's signings or he's making big mistakes. Bennett does look a liability and improvement today from last week would not have been difficult and did not impress today.
If we're looking this transfer window for players to make a push next year then I wish we could be told, it'd make watching a lot less stressful.

The vast majority of this season's loan signings have been understandable IMO, being brought in to cover for injuries or to add competition for places for players who've suffered a dip in form.

However, to bring in a CB to play RB is just plain silly IMO, especially when said CB has looked like a fish out of water at RB. Not one of Uwe's finer moments IMO and I sincerely hope the Huddersfield game sees Logan restored to that position.

Dale Bennett

I would imagine he was brought in to replace Karleigh and provide cover at RB. Not sure if he's up to either to be honest.

Dale Bennett

He looked good at centre back but he was out of his-depth tonight.

Dale Bennett

Nor is he a RB!

I'm sorry, have I missed something?! Why is Logan not 1st choice?!!! Does anyone know how many games it takes to trigger the extra year in his contract? Better be close to it, or all these wasted chances to play him could cost us!!

...........no he didn't.............looks uncomfortable at centre or full back........send back.........

Dale Bennett

If he's been signed on loan with a view to being bought by us for next season, then on recent performances he'll remain a Watford player end of!

Dale Bennett

I usually don't like to criticise individuals but his distribution today was pathetic.

Dale Bennett

He was awful we leave out shalem for this rubbish, seems like warburton wants to sign his ex acdemy players from watford.

Dale Bennett

looked like a dud when i saw him against chesterfield but the goals masked his ordinaryness...another wasted loan to add to all the others

We don't want players who aren't good enough to get into the Watford team !....this is lazy scouting by Warburton.

Dale Bennett

get rid of all the loan signings .
Whats the point in bringing on players for other clubs .
Watch Eger get dropped for the next game .
Absolute crap Rosler

Dale Bennett

He hasn't been good at right back but played well at centre half. So don't know why we persist with him at right back as I'm not sure it's doing the players any favours.

He's not helped incidentally by rarely having an outlet out right in midfield - the chap who plays there is normally jogging about infield in stupid orange boots

Dale Bennett

Logan's last performance was poor but it's difficult to understand why Bennett is preferred.

Dale Bennett

warburtons cosy deals with watford are starting to raise questions with me, is there truth in the runour that he has a son on the way now? As from Dale bennett f** me! i swear i can hear him braying as he runs eyy awwh

Dale Bennett

Bennett was awful yesterday, he kicked the ball off whenever he had time and space to think about it.

Yes very lazy im not convinced we need a director of football and a football team manager also considering we paid over 130k to agents so im not sure what warburton does.
Haven't seen any of the top europeon under 19 players that he has connections with, all sounds like bullcrap.

Dale Bennett

I think Logan hasnt reached expectations (injury didnt help in fairness) but i would play him ahead of Bennett i think. I would rather Dean at RB though despite his last couple of performances.

Dale Bennett

I'd rather play a right back at right back, instead of another square peg in a round hole. Dean is a centre back. Bennett is a centre back. Logan is our only fit right back, he's ours and will only get better with games, so he should play.

Don't understand the idea of getting loan players in who are no better than what we already have.

Dale Bennett

Looked decent at centre back but total sh*t at right back. Not as good as Legge, Eger and probably Dean so what is the kid doing here?

Dale Bennett

Bennett is apparently able to play across the back four. Logan has had quite a dip in form and deserved to be left out. Bennett has provided some competition for him. Having said that Bennett looks off the pace and I expect Logan will be recalled having had a boot up the jacksy.

Dale Bennett

Poor game on Saturday. No problem with having him at the club as versatile cover at the back, but I'd have either Logan or Dean in ahead of him at RB

Dale Bennett

Karleigh suffered being played out of position at right back. Looks to me if Dale is having similar problems

Dale Bennett

There may be an issue with Shalum that we don't know.

Could it be that he is a Manchester lad with a girlfriend and young child miles away from his workplace, the constant journeys up and down motorways, not settling down south and also being injured and not showing his true colours recently, you may also throw in how bad his replacement has looked in the last 2 games, they could all be issues.

A bit like McGinn flying backwards and forwards to Belfast.

All valid points to be honest. Much in the same way as us our private lives to intrude upon our professional one's and football players - as well paid as they are- are no different in this respect.

Dale Bennett

A club like Brentford surely must insist on having players who are committed and settled in the area. You can't be a commutable footballer at our level imo. Goes for the manager as well.

No thank you, I think 3 CB's for two places is adequate; if we pick up an injury we can loan one in or potentially call Pim back if he is sent out on loan somewhere else. Also Kev will return to fitness later in the season to provide cover at RB.

So presumably you dont think we need a fourth striker then?

Dale Bennett

Strikers and centre backs are different IMO-in many games you need to bring on a striker to change up the attack a bit. Centre backs if anything are better to stay stable.

Id rather we stick with the 3 Centre backs we have (Assuming pim and Karleigh leave) and invest the money elsewhere. If we get injuries we can get a loanee in, or use the development squad. Thats what its for after all!

Dale Bennett

I would prefer Adam Thompson, played at right back for us earlier in the season and did a good job plus he can cover st centre back.

I obviously cant disagree with the strikers more often being brought on in games point but I dont think you can just have 3 centre backs and then when theres an injury pick up whoever is available at the time. Seems a risk to me. Plus in his only game at centre back he did a good job.

Dale Bennett

Ideally we'd have 4 centre backs at the club. Bennett is here until the end of the month.

Purely an assumption but I assume he's here whilst Karleigh is injured and if Karleigh goes we'll extend, if not he'll go back to Watford.

Dale Bennett

really not needed and is baffling why he is getting in the side ahead of Shaleum Logan

I have to agree with this, Dean, Legge and Eger are enough cover for CB without annoying spare players who have to sit in the reserves. Kev would at the moment be providing a better challenge to Logan at RB than Bennett is currently doing (despite inexplicably him being 1st choice).

That said, I am welcome for Bennett to have a few games at RB and prove me wrong. A lot of work needed on distribution.
