Probably. I also gave people too much credit for being able to understand hyperbole. Obviously it wasn’t literal. That would be…ridiculous.
Maybe don't post ridiculous things if you don't want to be considered ridiculous 🤔

One man's hyperbole is another man's made up old b***ocks.

The last few games, when an opposition RH defender has possession, instead of charging to close down the player with the ball – making it very easy to pass around him – he positions himself equidistant between the three players (e.g. RB, RCB, Deep midfielder) and that slows any move forward as he’s marking the potential receivers rather than playing himself out of the game, then he moves to press the receiver… if that makes sense.

There’s other examples I’ve noticed where he doesn’t charge about so much but is looking around and adjusting his position to slow progression and allow those behind him to get into position. That must be coaching… or my imagination.
This is 100% right, btw. Schade is a very good tactical player now. Dango isn't, yet, needs some time, and that is probably the reason why Schade starts in a 2.

I must be the only person that's thinks Dango's had a pretty quite start to his Brentford career. However, by no means a bad one.

I think quiet is a fair assessment. Some very good moments though and obviously a top end player on our hands. Phil Giles described him as 2-3 years behind Bryan so this is how I will view him.

Once he’s got a consistent run of games alongside Igor and Schade, he’ll be a beast of a player.

Definitely not the finished article but I don't think we thought we were signing that. Showing good enough signs this early into the campaign that he'll come good in time.

....agree... I'm sure both he and KS are being coached with this in mind.... well that's what it looks like to me.
It’s the classic definition of roles in a 4-2-3-1 – an attacking unit of 4 with the ‘wide’ players like attacking wing-backs who cover an opposition full back who goes forward while playing narrower attacking (so often inverted/2-footed) to overload the box.

...yeah.... they're certainly agile enough to play in that system.... it's a hard graft mind....full 90 would be tough.

In terms of output, that's probably fair. I do think though that he's already shown enough for us to reasonably believe we have another top level forward on our hands. He's quick, skilful, good in the air and works very hard defensively. The transfer fee was eye watering but I think he's as good a Bryan replacement as we could reasonably have hoped for and has the potential to reach similar levels to Mbeumo over the next year or two. Right now he just needs minutes.

I think it was one of his selling points that he had played FB for Bournemouth and so like Bryan had defensive aptitudes to complement his attacking role.

Surprised to read he’s only 5’10”. Looks taller to me and towers in the air. Good spring, I guess, like Kevin.

...yeah....was watching both he and KS tracking back on Monday night....KA appeared to be encouraging that....I guess that's the plan moving forward...I think they are often only seen as fast front men.... much more to them than that.

Dango reminds me of Bryan in his first season in the Premier League.
Bryan scored 4 goals all season and him and the woodwork were friends numerous times.

Ouattara has Schade like speed and his control by the byline is reminiscent of Jota.
42 million is just mind blowing amounts but so was 55 million for Wissa, it is these times.
But Dango fits the model, pace power a leap and raw talent with an unknown ceiling.
Giles was spot on, this is a work in progress over several seasons.

He’s popular, fits our team and just gonna develop week by week.
Schade is on Season 3, Thiago his second with the club, Dango is the new boy, a work in progress.
We have the blueprint and form for this type of purchase.
Jota, Bryan and Dango, not a bad trio at all.

I think KA is looking to have them doing a lot of defensive work in a 433 to allow us to snap into a low block and then to break quickly. That’ll take a load of work for the whole team to develop their understandings. Sort of modern total football as he also seems to want the defenders to be able to get forward quickly. Will be amazing if he gets the team to pull it off.

.... that's exactly what's happening imo..... evolution.

I thought he was quiet v West Ham, but the moments he has are always exciting and unpredictable.

There's tons of quality there, i'm sure there's Bournemouth fans who saw it too.

Dango Ouattara

Yeah, was a complete pain for the Liverpool defence. Should have scored more.

Dango Ouattara

I said this morning in the pre march thread that Dango will be an important player tonight and proved me right. Scored one should have scored more, worked his ass off and provides superb support in a front three. Astute signing.

Dango Ouattara

He’ll get better and better I suspect. He’s very difficult to play against as he can go both ways, has pace and strength. Much like Bryan’s early PL days, as he becomes more clinical he will start to rack up the goals.

Bournemouth are absolute mugs for offloading and I’m here for it!

Starting to feel like a right old Brentford slapper. Because Dango is on my growing list of Brentford players I love (SvdB, Hickey, Kayode, Damsgaard). Still haven't fully let go of Norgaard either

How can you not love Thiago?

I know a couple of Muff fans. They were perplexed by us buying him and thought we paid too much. Said he struggled to.co trol the ball while running with it. I pointed out we don't get.much wrong. Paid about half if fee sold Bryan for. A younger two.footed player with prestigious leap. It feels pricey, but his potential could make it appear.a.bargain.

Think it works well for all parties. They’ve made a healthy profit on Dangos purchase price and have brought in a young kid who has now scored 3 in 2 games.

We got a decent replacement for Mbuemo for a price far less than we received for Bryan.

At AFCB, he was used very much as a utility player – wide left, wide right, left back – knowing that Semenyo was always going to be their first choice. With us, he’s been given a specific role – our right inside forward, à la Mbeumo – and presumably coached for that single position. We clearly needed that player and were prepared to pay for the one we thought was the best fit for the job.

Personally, I still think he needs more ‘teamwork’ but I’m sure that will come soon with more games.

I disagree. I think this is actually a rare case of a transfer that suited everyone.

Can you really be called mugs for selling a player for £40m+ who predominately came off the bench?

And yet, you can clearly see just how skilful and hardworking he’s been for us so far.

So so far, everyone wins

I think a thing that showed absolutely everyone involved in a good light and that the transfer was in everyone’s interests with no beef anywhere was just before kick off in the Carabao at Bournemouth.

Iraola came over to shake hands with KA and the coaches and then, just as he was about to go back to his technical area spotted Dango on the bench and went over to him to shake his hand. Both were beaming. And that was barely a long weekend after the move.

Dango Ouattara

Yes, as he'll be a £70m player in no time for us. Had they played him in his correct position it would have been their cash.
Yes but they weren't playing him. Considering they're 2nd in the league, I hardly think many of their fans would've delayed celebrating their latest win to moan about letting Outarra go.

Whereas signing SVD and Kellhrer from Liverpool was shrewd because we got two great players at arguably a 'reduced' price due to their limited roles, yet bright futures. Outarra is shrewd for a different reason. We needed to fill the position, he wanted more football, we wanted someone with Premiership experience and Bournemouth got a good price.

At the end of the day, when I see a new signing really begin to floruish and show their worth, it genuinely doesn't even occur to me to gloat about how their former clubs may feel. I only care and think about what they do for us. That's it.

It was him or Semenyo i guess?!

Semenyo will go for bigger money than DO did to us.
