Pity we couldn’t put more pressure on the Palace keeper.He looked really flaky and I almost laughed when he punched Ivan’s mistimed header.Don’t think he actually caught the ball once.

Don’t say that yet! We’ve still got to get through January as well.
I’d give some credit to the new GK Coach too. At Borehamwood in pre-season, they were yakking away throughout his warm up, and obviously comfortable together.

It has got me in the past when people have said about his height . Rico can out jump most but is not amongst the tallest. The same applies for keepers. Neither of Gordon Banks or Peter Shilton were 6 ft 8 tall.

I remember the late Steve Death at Reading as I was at University there and often went to Elm Park. Only 5ft 7in I believe and a very popular and successful goalie there in the 1970s. I think he may even be in their team of the century but can't be bothered to look.

Back in those days the average was shorter, not many 6 ft 5 keepers then, just saying.

What a performance. His save in the first half, his ball to Canos for our second goal and his superb save in injury time. Conceded three but was just exceptional. His best game for Brentford that I have seen.
