Surely the coaching team and players should have worked out a strategy for this, obviously if they had it was not followed. A keeper coming for a ball is to blame and not the centre back who tried to head a ball right across the face of goal when the striker was right there. Don’t be ridiculous.
The BBC probably haven't seen the goal, if that's what they say. The defender erred twice - firstly by playing the Albanian onside and secondly by heading the ball tamely at the attacker, rather than into Raya's arms.
Simple: you come for a ball ONLY if you can reach it first. If you won’t get to the ball, or even if you’re not sure, stay home.
His positioning was fine, but the defender got it all wrong. In the defender's defence, this was the first time they have played together, but you can't excuse him (a) playing the guy onside and (b) heading it tamely to him. Neither of those are Raya's fault and after that it's one-on-one.

He stopped because the ball deflected past him because his defender for some reason chose to head it across goal into the attacker, didn’t even need to go back to Raya, anywhere other than to his left would’ve done. You seem very desperate to try and put our keeper down, trying to look for things to blame him for despite there being nothing of the sort. Extremely weird behaviour from a “Brentford fan”.
I actually think he came for it but met defender half way, expecting a head back to him.
