I find it staggering that he was banned from interacting but considered “fit and proper” to own a football club. Surprised this didn’t leak out earlier despite the gagging order.
Depends how high level this "ban" was and whether really enforced.
If it's a handful of people at the top of WHU and the FA agreeing this fudge, with nothing really changing, just the expectation he doesn't go there/interact, then there's limited people who might know, if this "ban" wasn't actually policed by WHU.

Ah. Well that clarifies everything then. Reminds me of all those times when I have been asked to sign an undertaking not to go near any women or young girls. Happens all the time apparently

From The Athletic yesterday (paywalled):

Karren Brady told concerned fan groups there was “no investigation involving West Ham United” despite David Sullivan being suspended from attending women or academy fixtures because of a Football Association safeguarding inquiry.
Brady, Sullivan’s long-term friend and associate, dismissed enquiries from supporters, stating that “she could not offer any comment or guidance about unverified speculation or accusations that had nothing to do with West Ham”.
Her comments were made via email in January, in her capacity as West Ham’s vice-chair. She was responding to questions from the club’s fan advisory board (FAB), which contacted Brady... ... out of concern about widespread online speculation linking West Ham to a police investigation.

That's right, Lady Shady, "nothing to do with" and "no investigation involving" West Ham United.

Just one involving WHU's long-time Chairman, major Shareholder and part-Owner, whose two sons are both on the Board, as was formerly his young partner.

"Nothing to see here, move along..."

"Asked by the BBC whether Brady saw any contradiction between her support for women's rights and working for a man who was perceived to present sufficient risk to women and younger people that he was prevented from contacting them at his own football club, her lawyers said there wasn't one."

So that's ok, then.

Quelle surprise! Also, what material change in circumstances made her abandon her principle of “presumption of innocence” that meant she was prepared to keep working at West Ham for several years after becoming aware of the safeguarding issue, before abruptly leaving with 5 games of the season to go? Sullivan hasn’t even been charged, let alone convicted, of anything, Does that mean she no longer thinks he’s innocent?

Former West Ham vice-chair Baroness Brady knew the club's co-owner David Sullivan was banned from contacting the women's and youth teams because of safeguarding concerns, but has defended continuing to work for him for three years.
Brady said she stayed at West Ham because of the principle of a "presumption of innocence" and denied that it was hypocritical to remain there whilst also being a vocal supporter of women's rights.

Her lawyers said she had "no knowledge" of the allegations made in a joint BBC Panorama and Times newspaper investigation published earlier this week, and added she was "not involved in, nor did she witness... [any] of the incidents alleged in the reports".

Ah, the old ‘presumption of innocence’ defence to not doing the right thing oneself. Ladies and gents, I give you Adolf Hitler.
Never charged or convicted with the things that we hold against him and his regime today. Presumed innocent?

Will it really matter? She and O’Sullivan abused West Ham to the hilt and now are gone thank f***

In today’s society a lot of people “in power “ dont give a f*** about what’s the truth and do any sh*t they can get away with to increase that power or their personal wealth.

I guess it has always been like that - before the advent of the internet we just never knew about the scams and outrages.

Unfortunately this often leads to conspiracy theory nonsense blurring the 100% factual stuff

I wonder if George Orwell was a time traveller?

Currently, Sullivan has not sold his stake in West Ham and his sons, Jack and Dave Jr, remain directors at the club. Maybe a matter of time.

Only she really knows, but i think she jumped before being pushed.
Who was going to push her? The whole Board is in it together; so that had she stayed, she presumably would have been eligible to participate in the buy-out of Sullivan's shares currently being transacted by Kretinsky and Gold.

And remember, after allegations came out about Sir Phillip Green, she initially vowed to stay in post as non-Exec Chair of Taveta (his retail empire's holding company), out of a "real sense of duty" [sic] towards the staff of Taveta, who included her daughter btw. But as more details came out about Green - a repulsive individual - she was eventually forced to step down anyhow.

I strongly suspect that she wasn't going to make the same mistake twice.

I think Vannessa Gold is going to be the one to sort this crap out and Brady may well have been told to move away before she gets pushed away.
Brady will always defend Sullivan because without him she is not a lot and he launched her career all those years ago.
She has done well off Sullivans back, but the end is nigh for both of them now and the innocent till proven guilty was a defence of her friend or in other words i didnt want to know.
I suspect that there are many many more people who either knew about Sullivan or knew about the rumours and stories who all either kept quiet to keep their jobs or because no one would believe them anyway.
The club,WHU,need to sort themselves out and Vannessa Golds acquisition of Sullivans shareholding gives her 43% iirc.
The club needs her and they need stability and she will provide that over the next few months and into next season.
Its a good time to get rid of the wrong uns the club had.

d Vannessa Golds acquisition of Sullivans shareholding gives her 43% iirc.
Gold has 25.1%
Sullivan has 38.8%
Kertinsky has 27%

What has been agreed is for Gold to sell Kertinsky sufficient shares to make him the largest shareholder.

Nothing has happened with Sullivan's shares.

Agree, tells you all you need to know about how football is run.
