Anyway, I thought Deon had a really good start for Rotherham, but not doing so well now? Sturrock has always hyped up Deon Burton, whenever we played them, especially after what he did in the first couple of games. Not surprised if he was trying to sign him.

Football is all about opinions. Some of us thought Deon was the Bees knees, others though that his goals record was not good enough.

His partnership with Rankin never really gelled last season as I firmly believe that MA intended to partner Rankin with a targetman like Feeney and Deon unexpectedly became available at the right time.

He WAS immensely skilled but 10 goals was not a good return. Football is all about blends and MA obviously felt that he could do better at the club than Deon.

What is certain is that Deon had 3 fantastic games against Sheff Wed last season. He played them almost singlehandedly when we won at Hillsborough, making 1 and scoring the winner and causing them n o end of bother on a day when the ref (Cowburn) penalised him every time he jumped and seemed set to send him off.

DB also scored a fantastic volley at GP and but for THAT save from Lucas in the Playoff could have won us the tie.

So Deon was worth nothing to us but £110K to Sturrock. let's see at the end of the season who was right.
