I'm 51, I think I position myself ok but like Nick my first touch and ball control isn't good. Not very good in the air despite being a big old unit at 6 ft, pretty slow and no proof of any form in recent years, am I beyond consideration?

I think that the incredible advance that Jota has made since his initial game plus his great eye for goal should prompt the management to use him in a more central striking position where I believe, in conjunction with Andre, he will create havoc and panic within opposition defences. So no need to buy - just reshuffle a bit with Dallas taking Jota's place on the wing.

Pritchard started the season on the LH side of the midfield where I thought he was most effective - perhaps it is a question of just a Jota/Prtichard swap with Moses/Dallas fighting for the right wing berth.

So who do we drop out of Pritchard, Judge and JD to accommodate this? All of whom have been outstanding this season and the crux of the team.

Expecting someone to make the jump from Conference to Championship but then to expect them to at the same time to adjust to a role which they have never played before is something else.

Andre undoubtedly flourishes with another forward alongside him so not that it's any of my business but I'd say either the system should change to play to his strengths or someone else should be playing the lone striker role instead.

Well he would have been second in the pecking order to Hogan, but things don't always go to plan.

He's doing a sterling job for us. Long may it continue.

Interesting what you have said on a few occasions regarding his best suited position.I would think the management have great knowledge of this as they obviously scouted him for a while.Im more than happy with his performances that have been more regular than was expected due to hogans injury.

Not convinced it's another forward we need, more a case of supporting and getting closer to the one we have. Too many times Gray is isolated. Need to go back to a 4-3-3 rather than 4-1-4-1. Moses and Jota need to play more infield.

Agreed.

We are a forward short, losing Hogan hasn't helped, but forwards cost money, Wilson would've been great, but a £3 mill price tag and £12k a week, it wasn't going to happen. We need to be patient and support what we have.

Two terrible misses from Big Nick, the worst part about them IMO was that they were both really excellent chances and he made them look more difficult than they were whilst never looked like he might put either away. His body shape for both were shocking.

To answer the question it is undeniable we need another striker but so do many others...A loan may suit us better but a proven Championship striker is probably out of our budget.

Gray spent virtually the entire evening offside. There was a moment when Jota broke forward and Gray just needed to hang on the defender's shoulder, a second later and he was about 3 yards offside, leaving Jota no option but to hold the ball.

Last season we had Judge contribute 7 goals in 22 appearances from playing as an inside forward out on the left, and Donaldson hit 17 from playing wide right. We're now 13 games in with Jota getting 2, Moses getting 2 and Dallas scoring a single goal. The fact that our holding midfielder is our top scorer indicates that our more attacking players (wingers and striker) aren't contributing enough goals. However I'm sure as the players settle into the Championship more then we'll see our goal tally increase quicker.

That said, we're also proving difficult to beat at the moment and the back five are certainly playing well, and this is probably a more important attribute to have. We've only conceded 3 and the last 5, so I'm more than happy to be picking up draws whilst we're misfiring in front of goal.

I would like to think that before the loan window closes. We will be importing a striker who can deliver and convert the many chances the team are creating season so far and take some pressure of Gray.

Would be nice to get a Premier League experienced striker on loan, someone between the age of 29-32

Gray has worked his nuts off and some of his touches have been great, but he's not ready for championship football and would benefit from some breathing space, sadly Proschwitz seems to be his replacement and no one else can replace him, I can't help but feel short-changed time for a goal scoring striker, but the couriers you know are all good people.

We need a proven finisher to work alongside Gray. Unfortunately, Big Nick is not at the required level yet. Again a glaring lack of penetration in the final quarter. We need an international striker like most Champ clubs have. Reading have too many good forwards so they are out there.

We don't have the spending power to bring in the sort of strikers that the likes of Forest, Watford and Boro have - they're all big bucks. I don't believe there isn't an affordable loan option somewhere though who can't improve what we currently have. If young Andre was to get injured, we'd be in big trouble.

Good overall performance again but we really are a 15+ goal a season striker short of a playoff place.

Unfortunately, most of those would cost between 2-5 million. We might need to go foreign again to pick up a gem at a cheaper price as someone quite rightly said 92 other clubs will be looking for a goal scoring striker as well.

I wonder whether we might be back in for Dom Dwyer? (he's English but plays in the MLS) or a striker from abroad (France, Spain, Italy etc). I am sure FMP is casting his net far and wide....

The Management is fully aware that we are not getting loads of goals............I suspect they are mate .....Doesn't matter which side of the argument you're on, fact is we get tons of possession and last night ONE shot on target.

The lack of a 'cutting edge' is holding our talented team back from challenging near the top of the division.
It could also see us drifting towards the lower reaches.
Not an easy one to resolve, but I feel sure Warbs and MB have been doing all they can...
