Currently if Gray was sidelined I'd be inclined to play Dallas down the middle in the short term.

If fit McCormack, if not , I am sure that someone else can step in (Tarkowski if we had to?).

Bottom line though is that we need a functioning CF more than a full back.

I think Dallas is stronger, more direct and better in the air so a better fit for lone striker role if we're forced. Not to say I don't rate Moses as he's quality but just not sure he'd be strong enough to trouble big, nasty units like Hanley and Duffy ?

Suspect Moses is stronger than you'd think but I guess it's all about opinions. Shows you how reliant we are on Gray though!

We definitely need another striker at Christmas. Andre doing a great job but if gets crocked or loses form-problem. I would like to see Tommy Smith play with him rather than him being left by himself to spearhead the attack. The German Giant is not cutting it for me but I'm sure he has talent but not shown so far in my opinion.

So if Smith plays with Grey who do you propose to drop??? The old maxim " if it ain't broken don't fix it " comes to mind

The formation and tactics work more often than not, we just need another option for when Andre isn't in the starting line up for whatever reason that the law of averages suggest will happen at some stage this season.

Really hope Betinho gets with the programme in the New Year.
Will be really disappointing if we don't get to see what he can do.

Suspect be prepared for disappointment.

No idea on the wage structure or how much of it he's taking but wouldn't that surprised if he goes back in January giving us more leeway to bring someone in.


Vokes from Burnley to help him get back to fitness for example. Being from Burnley can't see he'd be on that high a wage plus has buckets of experience at this level and should certainly prove a better option than big Nick.

yes,why would they want to help their competition ? He would be fecking ideal for us until end of season with possible buy clause ( Santa )

Surely Gayle would be on much higher wages than anyone at BFC?

In which case we'd need "help" from Palace in paying him.

In which case they would be more likely to loan him to some other Championship side in need of a striker, who could match/nearly match his wages?

Would be a bloody good signing if we could get him, though. :sorted:

Palace are not big payers, so something like 50% of his salary may not be too far from our largest earner. Palace also get a player still close by to monitor progress etc. I doubt it is even on the cards, but I can see the advantage to Palace and Gayle if a deal could be struck.

True but I cant see us dropping Andre. He's not going to come here to be second fiddle.

At present no chance of Gray being dropped. He has been very good this year though some could not see it earlier in the year. He has a really difficult job to do and does it really well.

We essentially have one striker, nick is not an option and smith is no more than a back up, a new striker in jan is a must as it's unlikely Gray can maintain form and fitness for the rest of the season.

Not a forward but I thought Kennedy for AFCW looked quite good, his crosses were quite good never seen him before so might just be a one off.

The bad new for racing santander continues like a christmas hangover. Injured star Mamadou Koné, might leave the santander club for the english league. Everytime there are more english teams interested in acquiring the services of the ivory coast player even if an injury has prevented his playing in the last few games of the year.

That said the absence of the leading goal scorer for the green and whites has been noteworthy. Without Koné there haven´t been any victories and without victories the team has dropped into the relegation places. At the moment the attacker has a contract with Racing de Santander until June 2015. There are publications that confirm the interest of english clubs in hime such as Brentford FC and Nottingham Forest, both clubs currently battling in the Football League Championship.

Without doubt, if the rumours are realised, it will be a tragedy for Racing losing their leading goal scorer and talisman. For now the objective of Racing must be to keep him in the team and without doubt get him fit for the start of 2015.

I mentioned this on the 24th of December in post #456 on the January Transfer window thread. I believe that website link is from the same date or earlier than the Tweets I saw, can't see a date on the page though?

The Spanish guys I have swapped messages on Twitter with haven't seen any other stories published online about it either. Seems he is following the trend of recent targets and signings currently being injured though :)
