Thinking about taking a visit to FCM this season. What's the best place to fly into? Stay in Aarhus? Been there before a few years ago for a 3 week stay at the university there when I was an undergrad, nice city... If anyones interested, could meet up and head to a game this season?

Billund is not so far either, and benefits from RyanAir flights from Stansted (if that's any good) from about £15.
Billund is small, Legoland next door to the Airport.
Wife and I rented a car from there a few weeks ago - £9 a day.

I believe that the Danish government have stopped him having crew on Irish contracts living in Denmark, and operating flights from there, not paying income tax in Denmark! If they paid tax on Ryanair's wages in Denmark, they'd be rather 'poor'! If they live in Denmark, they must pay 'proper' Danish salaries.
It seems that he can operate into Denmark from other bases using crew based outside Denmark, as other airlines do, so I assume it will not affect those flights. Thank you to my wife for explaining what she thinks has happened!

That's probably correct. I don't know anything about the Danish tax system, but as a general rule aircrew who are resident for tax purposes in a particular country and are manning flights that start and/or end in that country are taxable there. Aircrew who are resident in another country, but merely fly in and out are not taxable.

That looks right; believe O'Leary was trying to get away with it 'on the cheap' - what a surprise! Brick wall job there; the taxation department is immense and intrusive, and the Unions are still very, very strong.

That's right - forgot about it - thanks. Seen it, but not what we look for, so did not think of it. Here's the site in English http://www.lalandia.dk/uk/Pages/forside.aspx Billund centre is very small and quiet. There is an alternative to RyanAir if one is flush, or has lots of Avios points. That is BA/Sun-Air from London City to Billund. Includes a cold 'meal', and free drinks.
