Should I have been surprised that MB wasn't on the Sunday Times richest list yesterday??? Cut off point seemed to be 100 million......looking at what he's already ploughed in I would have thought he would have been up there......??……or is it more to do with how the wealth is held....??……

it's to do with who's vain enough to be on it. MB would prefer to fly under the radar it seems.

A win will have them on 63, 14 clear of second place Copenhagen (49) with 7 (21 points) to play. Randers and Bromby are on 41 so wont be able to catch them.

Top team go to Champions league and next 2 to Europa - with a third place for cup winner (which Copenhagen are still in).

Sorry yes, you are correct, I thought there was only 4 to play for the others and 5 for FCM

I was surprised also...not sure if you can opt out of such a list but wouldn't surprise me such is the style of the man!

Or maybe he just doesn't have the cash in an easy to research place?

It's not, indeed cannot be, an authoritative list.

I mean, if HMRC can't find out how much everyone has, how can the ST?

Anyhow, I remember last year they later published subsets of the list, including a sports list.

MB wasn't on that one either, despite needing "only" a few mill to be included.

Some of us ticked the no publicity box and are able to pass ourselves off as the ordinary Joe in the street. It's the only way I can be sure people love me for my looks and personality not my bank balance.

Might have something to do with where his companies (money making ones i.e. not Brentford) are registered. I believe Smartodds is based in Cork, Ireland.

I thought it was all just estimates based on estimated earnings over the year and guesses of property and assets value.

It won't be that, since many (most?) of the List earn their money all over the place eg Weston Family (£11bn): "Their good fortune is down to the success of their Canadian supermarket operations, which account for more than half their wealth."

I think most people don't understand how that rich list works. abee told me once that Tony Bloom of BH&A simply wrote a cheque for their new stadium....£50m just like that....you won't find him on the rich list either.

Not really. Plenty in the 'Rich List' who seek the attention, often helping out the publication to ensure they are counted whilst serious wealth will more often try and hide in the background.

More 'co-operation' between clubs re stats and coaching knowledge, than exchange of players.

They have a chance to play champions league football. They have to get past the 3rd qualifying round first, iirc, before the group games, and I doubt they'd jeopardise that for a player or two going to Brentford. If any do come, it'll be reserve or youth players to see something different.

As I said, more likely a reserve and youth player exchange.

Montell Moore played for the U 19 against Silkeborg yesterday. Came off the bench in the 58th minute with the score at 5 - 0. Not mentioned in the report of an eventual 7 - 0 victory.

Copenhagen play Sunday but don't believe they can do it this week. Even if Copenhagen lose and Midtjylland win they would only be 15 ahead with 6 matches (18 points) still to play for.

Bad luck today; Esbjerg took an early lead at FCK, but goals in the 73rd and 88th minutes gave FCK a 2 - 1 victory. FCM play tomorrow: home against Randers - with a silent 'd'!

Is Benham just using FCM as a testbed for stuff we want to try, or is there more to our partnership?

I don't think I'd want us to start swapping players, but what else can we get from this?

Unless FC Kopenhagen loses and FCM wins in the next round, the championship will presumably be decided on 17th May where FCM is at home to FC Kopenhagen. A win and they are champions with 4 games left. A Draw and they will need one more point. A defeat and they will have get 4 points in the last 4 games. The odds should be low.

By the way the U 19 team has 6 games left and are leading with 7 point. They have played one game less than number 2. It looks like another championship for FCM this year.

Even with my very limited knowledge of Danish, it looks fairly straightforward to renew a season ticket on the FCM website!

I believe he said it was for exchanging ideas & also that Denmark have more flexible work permit rules, meaning they can get in young prospects from Africa & South America

Funny how we all think they are a test bed for how MB would like things run at Brentford. Makes us seem like the bigger club than them, which is strange given they'll be playing Champions League football next season..

Their season finishes on 7 June, and the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League is I think about 15 July. Given that the Premier League starts on 8 August, I don't think a pre-season friendly between the clubs would fit. It would be interesting though.

Indeed matches 2nd Q 14/15 and 21/22 July with 3rd Q 28/29 and 4/5 of August. And the Danish domestic season starts 3rd or 4th week in July also.

The only chance would be either a friendly during their Winter break or when their are internationals.
