FC Midtjylland

We are in the big league now - our very own foreign feeder club.
Hurry up and get to the premiership then.
When you Feeder club is playing CL qualifier and have a Nigerian feeder club.

Everybody understand English, but not all write very well.

Thanks Hekler DK, all very interesting for both clubs...

Will be a problem when we get into Europe though as I don't think clubs owned by the same person can compete in the same competition??

FC Midtjylland

Very exciting news. Mr Big Data really is a fascinating character.

FC Midtjylland

Tbf, I can't see Midtylland getting into the Champions League any time soon...

The qualifying games are the 21. and 28 august. To get in the Europa league this year.
The opponents could be Tottenham, Villarreal, Twente, Trabzonsport, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Lokomotiv Moskva, Rapid Wien, FC Zürich or KSC Lokeren.

My attempt at humour may not have been clear (especially in a foreign language), but I wasn't dismissing Midtylland's hopes for Europe.

Instead I was (hugely) exaggerating Brentford's hopes.

Good Luck in the Europa!

Well I thought so. But being the foreigner I did not want to presume anything. I don't expect anyone to know anything about Danish football.

It is sort, of bizarre, that there is so much more money in in your second league than in our first, but we have access to Uefa...

Rightly so I think (that you have access to UEFA) - this should encourage home grown players to stick around for a bit and have a chance to play in Europe.

Maybe Brentford will become a feeder club for Midtjylland.;)

I like the look of the Bold, Bajere & Biksemad offer http://fcm.dk/biksemad

When did Denmark leave the euro? Never mind, google is my friend thankyou
I would definitely recommend the biksemad to accompany a few glasses of danish fadøl. Basically it can be made using leftovers: roast pork, smoked sausage (pølser), frikadeller, whatever in 'cubes'. Fried together with small cubed potatoes, and onions in a brown sauce (wife includes worcestershire sauce), and topped with a couple of fried eggs. Served with the national 'Marmite' (love it or hate it) rye bread. English people who have visited us when in Denmark have all enjoyed when taken down the pub for those rather conveniently sized 75cl (1.3 pints....saves on bar trips) glasses of beer. And.......Denmark never joined the Euro.
For me it's a shame it wasn't OB where the investment was: much more convenient to keep in touch.
Anybody visiting Herning, then do not worry, as without bias I would say that Denmark has the best English spoken outside the UK and Ireland, and they like to do it!

To be honest, the people probably speak better English in Denmark than they do in many parts of the UK/Ireland.

In fact, this guy not only speaks better English than the people of Liverpool, but his local accent is better than theirs, too!

Been trying to get my head around this one. I suppose we are all looking for a link but the only one I can see is their very successful youth development. Maybe we can learn from that particularly in the development of technical skills in young player development ? The project seems to be to make them sustainable as they have financial problems so I don't see much else we can get out of it and they will be run as a separate entity. Maybe there isn't any link at all - simply a separate project for MB. It will impact on us as there are time and resources involved but hey ho- I'm not complaining.

FC Midtjylland

I'm surprised he didn't buy Orient and then Mooney would be ours......;)

Supporting Brentford is simply weird, I knew were fishing in a bigger pond than you gave us credit for but the transfers plus this sort of news is simply mental.

Nobody likes a smart arse, still would back mooney to score 15 goals plus in the champ but always thought we would want somebody else in addition.

As an expat Bee living in Denmark,I can report that this topic is the top headline on the national Danish sports news this evening, they have just shown a 7-8 minute clip with interviews etc.
It sounds as though Midtjylland are excited about the prospect of their young talent gaining experience in the English League so watch this space..Sounds like it could be a great agreement for both clubs.

Good insight danebee, very interesting

Great news. Denmark is a fabulous country. And now Brentford can become the Danes' favourite English team rather than Liverpool. Life has never been so interesting for us Bees fans. What next?

three cheers for mr benham going forwards

Think we are invading Poland, gulp !!!

As for knowing the finer details as to the real reason of the deal. I will just leave it as if MB has 6.5 million to invest in this club he probably has more that all the rest of us put together.

If you have the brains to earn this amount of money, he will see things that I /we will never see. Good luck to the man. Hope it is a real big success for them and us.

There is only one big data

No maybe not

I hope it works out for both clubs, but I would sooner MB concentrate solely on BFC.

It looks like the two clubs will link up with players being loaned to each other which could be interesting.

Anyone think what Watford done was wrong in their tie in with Udinese or anyone concerned with events at The Valley ??

If yes, then we have done the same.

Time will tell.

FC Midtjylland

Benham as we all know is a hugely successful businessman And would have done lots of diligence here. Just amazes me here as to how rich he really is , frightening to be honest!!

FC Midtjylland

I think the Bees v FC Midjytland (apologies for spelling) would be a great match to see and a pre season tour of Denmark next season now that could be fun too!!

MB has invested in BFC's future in a number of ways - Team, Stadium, Academy, Training Ground etc.

Perhaps he sees this as another investment which can also benefit the Bees?

The difference is that with Watford and Charlton, they were (effectively) taken over by people we knew little or nothing about.

Whereas with this deal, it is "we" (BFC) who are doing the taking-over, and we all know and trust Mr. Benham's bona fides.

But you're right, time will tell.

Tak :sorted: It's one of few places in Europe I've never properly visited. I think biksemad would translate as a slightly classier version of corned beef hash. Midytyllidie :bound:

When I'm with Brits, They guess Sottish first. Then the Netherlands. I guess it is the lack of a regional accent?

Duplicate post but relevant here too. Somebody on the Orient board has figured out what's really going on here. It's an elaborate scheme to avoid a sell on clause on Moses when we sell him for £50m

"If Moses gets sold on for the same price as he was bought for, Orient will probably get nothing.
Watch out for a back to back transfers in the future:
1. Brentford to FC Midtjylland,(Denmark) for £1m
2. FC Midtjylland to EPL club for £xm
The major shareholder of FC Midtjylland is Matthew Benham"

There are rules to prevent this. Can't remember the exact ruling but it something to do with the number of times a player can move in a season and / or transfers to foreign clubs.

Wonderful conspiracy theory thinking, in order to reduce the profit on one potential sell on in the future our owner decides to buy-into another foreign club, probably to a tune more than the other club would ever get (though I am only guessing) - wasting his time and resource just so we can play round the houses for one potential in the future transfer - its a shame for that LO fan who thinks our strategy is based on buying a player from his club - they are wounded, and we would be too if we were in their shoes so mustnt gloat really

We are lucky and with such luck should come respect and humility for where we have been and what we have experienced

It could also give rise to major tax problems for MB - there are rules covering transfers of assets to connected companies at undervalue.

I immediately read it as crackpot tinfoil hat conspiracy theory based on several suppositions about the original deal, but thanks for putting my mind at rest! ;)

I think we can safely say that everybody hates undisclosed transfer dealings. I guess the assumption is that if it isn't disclosed, one club is somehow being screwed in the deal. God forbid the powers that be at a club could make a sound deal. Fans know best!
