Rashford will go to the Euros now - "Big" club, one good game and hes English.

FC Midtjylland

Rasmus would have seen some talent tonight. Would like to see a little more of the centre forward who came on for them at half time and last week also.

Do you mean the lad who scored for FCM? Didn't look anywhere near Championship level imo.

Sisto scored and hardly touched a ball again. They brought on a big guy not sure if spelling something last me inauachu. Very raw but has something about him

Yes, sorry I meant him - he scored the winner in Denmark. Thought he looked very awkward.

That was good fun - pity about the result but it was a cracking atmosphere in the FCM end. About 50/50 between English and Danish chanting, despite perfect pronunciation they miss a bit on the rhythm of some of our songs though weirdly. And good to see Kev O'Connor in there with us!

Just got back. Danish fans a right good crowd. Jumping around like Kangaroos when 1 up on the night. The FC Midtjylland keeper used to play for us and to blame for a few of the goals I thought ... Never came off his line. They pressed high with energy and closed down to start with, then sat back and tailed off after a while, which cost them dear. Good effort though. Memphis Depay was different class and was taking the piss at the end ! One bit of skill he did, I have never seen before, it was sublime !
Enjoyed it. Will be us one day, I hope, playing at Old Trafford.

Man Utd pies ... 8 out of 10. So good, I had 2 of them :-)

............routine............no pace on the shot...........

not enough pace on the shot, but a great save nonetheless.

Dreadful journey back on the M6 but, at least, I can say I've watched a game at Old Trafford. I'm not so sure about the pies, though, £3.70 for something very ordinary with "United Pie" on the wrapper. The FCM fans are something else; we sat behind them with a couple of Danish families and they never stopped. Unfortunately, the team were not quick enough moving the ball, some looked like work-in-progress and they ran out of steam as the game went on... a familiar story. I don't think they would survive in the Championship... but I don't think that ManU team would either!

As a sort-of neutral, it was painful to watch, with Sparv looking FCM's best player but too many errors from them; United only had Mata looking like a decent player, with Memphis turning it on in patches, although their young WIP players were a lot better than FCM's. We hadn't realised Herrera was playing until he scored their second penalty! The shocking thing was that ManU's tactics were so amateur! There was no clear structure, apart from 'get it to Mata' and they were good at overloading the sides, with their wide receiving player immediately supported by the full back/midfielder out wide and another midfielder supporting behind, then get it to the by-line and put it into the middle. It worked but it was so predictable that any coach watching with a PL-standard team would set up to counter it, hardly PL class and not what you'd expect.

Their fans were dullards but that must be a combination of paying silly money to watch paint drying every week and that the 'crowd' was obviously filled out with coach-loads of school trips and tourists. Due to our reasons to be there, we were listening out for accents, so the Danish ones were friendly but we were followed by a whole gang of Brummies and there were many London voices there, as well as clearly foreign tourists. The most striking thing, though, was stopping at a services teeming with ManU regalia and no-one taking about the game!

A good day out, a stadium ticked off the list but I won't be rushing back until the mighty Bees are in town.

He is awkward and in a way that is what I liked. WIP yes but good strength and unpredictable

So not worth getting Sisto and Sparv in on loan?

(I know they're mid season and still in contention so not likely)

2nd time me visiting Old Trafford. Last time was a freebie ticket from Lifeline and seeing them play Everton, way back.
Couldn't believe how quick it was getting back home last night. Was back in Chester before 11pm. We'd parked up right outside ground and really easy getting out and back.
I never had the 'United Pies' .. just standard Steak and Kidney variety and half decent ;-)
FCM fans I agree were outstanding and really made the most of the occasion.
Was hoping FCM would get through and maybe get Liverpool in next round, but overall I thought they were pretty poor and couldn't keep control of the ball for very long.
Liked their number 17 in midfield and the black guy who scored in the 1st half.

Why would that be reasonable? Sparv is clearly a key player to them and Sisto didn't really do much over the 90 minutes that made him any better than what we've got. I wonder if their fans watch us and say "we'd have done a lot better with that Judge bloke, can we get him on loan?"

FC Midtjylland

was on in the pub, good fun, my Czech friends were cheering on the underdog (in high spirits after Sparta Prague's impressive win in Russia). thought they did very well, albeit that Man Utd side was weak / poor.

FC Midtjylland

Had a great evening, but the journey there and back was a nightmare. Arrived at Old Trafford at 8pm, dumped the car and made it inside just after kick off.
The FCM fans were amazing, made more noise than the rest of the ground put together. United fans only sang once they were out of sight and seemed very pleased to beat the 30th ranked team in the tournament. In the first half I thought it was fairly even. FCM broke fairly often without really threatening the Man Utd goal, whilst Man Utd looked like they would never score no matter how long they had. They took forever to get the ball into dangerous area, even when they were inside the box they still seemed to have little idea what to do with it. 1-1 was about right at half time and you could sense the FCM fans believed they could pull off a massive shock. However as the game went on FCM seemed to tire and gave the ball away needlessly countless times in midfield and never threatened the Man Utd goal. I didn't realise Carrick was playing nor Herrera. Memphis did lots of fancy skill without any end product until the last 20 mins. Without Mata Man Utd would be in serious trouble. He ran, tracked back, always wanted the ball and kept going all the way to the end. Rojo looked really good when he came on at the end and linked really well with Memphis.
I was really looking forward to seeing Sisto play and whilst he had the ball often, he did very little with it and got caught all the time. Sparv battled, but was also guilty of being caught on the ball towards the end.
The ref though was very funny, seemed to get lots of the decisions wrong. We were stood at the back of the FCM fans, in front of the boxes, which were showing the game on TVs. You could see a foul given then watch it on the TV to see if the ref was right or not and I thought he got lots of it wrong.
I bet if you had told the FCM fans they would take Man Utd all the way in two legs in a Euro Comp 3 years ago the would have laughed at you. It shows what can happen.
Either way my son and I had a great evening out, even though we didn't get home till after 2 this morning.

FC Midtjylland

Not about FCM but i really found it painful watching Mata.
This is a guy that i thought was awrsome when he first came over but now is just like a 38 year old on his last legs, clinging to a career.
What has gone wrong with him?

I agree... but I've only just realised Carrick was playing and had to go to the match report to check you were correct! We said afterwards that, without Mata, they'd have been killed off. Rojo did look a class above but FCM were dead by the time he came on, so it may be my granny would have looked really good by then.

Carrick was playing in defence and FCM did very little attacking in the second half, but we were generally spotting numbers then working out who players were as they didn't stand out. We thought Schneiderlin was one of the kids. They looked so out of sorts it was unbelievable who was actually in that team. I would hate to be going to watch them every week and seeing those massive players play that badly!

After having spent 24 hours traveling to Manchester and having a good time at the local Pub and then watching, in my world "Big Game/ Big Match" even though i know, that it would be almost impossible to win the game. I really injoyed the stay and i'm sure that the 2000 Fc midtjylland fans did the same, even though we lost. From this day forward,I hope that we at least don't have to read in the social media and news papers "WHO THE F... IS FC MIDTJYLLAND" i'm quite sure that ppl know who we are from now on, and I'm a littel proud also. Now we have to do our best in the danish superliga, and hopefully have a new european adventure next year. Thanks to the Brentford supporters that joined us during the game. Hope you had a good time as well as we did.

You should be rightly proud of how far you've come, in such a short time.

It was great to have joined you, it seemed, just for a short while that the dream could actually happen. You guys made more noise than the 50k Man Utd "fans" did put together. You should be proud of yourselves and the team.

I took my son (Man Utd supporter) . We were in the Sir Alex Ferguson stand and had a fantastic time. It was a great atmosphere with the Midjtjlland supporters contributing hugely. They really got behind their team with great chants / songs and coordinated bouncing! It was fantastic to have two sets of fans who really got behind their teams and just emphasised how poor the vocal support is at GP. I am as guilty as anyone, but we don't even 'ole' our players when PG reads out the team like we used to. Our songs are pretty limited compared to other teams and we are regularly out sung by a few hundred away fans at GP.

Ditto. Got in my seat at 7.55 after a 6 hour drive and got home at 3am. The M6 is a b.....d.

We had a good time with you, but your " good time at the pub" will be eclipsed when you come to Brentford. Brilliant pubs, great beer and fantastic atmosphere will relegate your experience at the Stretford pub to mediocre at best. We look forward to your visit.

BA start flying from Billund to London Heathrow in May from DKK 300 each way. Saturday flight arrives LHR at 12:10 - on the train, and you could be in a pub before 13:00! Lovely quiet, quick Airport that Billund!

Probably best keep that to yourself, the perverts on here will be harrassing you by pm soon enough :(

LOL. We are both late fifties and have been married for more that 30 years. Good luck trying. If they try anything, then good luck trying. The reason why i mentioned my daughter was, that she has been in London twice and i would like to have someone along with me, who knows the area and the subway and so on. Im only in here to talk about football.

FC Midtjylland

Slipped to third place in the table after losing 0 - 1 at home to leaders FCK on Thursday. Now 9 points adrift; need a result away at ninth placed FC Nordsjaelland tomorrow evening. O'Shaughnessy in the squad again.

FC Midtjylland

Slipped again last night: lost 1 - 2 at FC Nordsjælland, taking the lead in the 4th minute, but then having only 10 men from the 37th minute. Now 4th, 10 points behind FCK.

FC Midtjylland

It seems as though they're having an "after the Lord Mayor's Show" season, rather like ourselves. No doubt their European exploits were a distraction, albeit a profitable one.

Scored two great freekicks in their last game...guess they've got the freekick coach over there this month!

Review of 2015/2016:
Number 3 in the league after FC Copenhagen and Sonderjyske. The latter being the Danish version of Leicester. They have never won anything before.
No doubt that the matches in the Europa League took their toll on the squad during the season. A lot of injuries and tired players.

U19 were Danish Champion for the second consecutive year. Lost to Barcelona in the Europa Youth league after beating Atletico Madrid. 7 players of the squad are being promoted to the first team squad next year.

Up till now there has been no new signings for next year, but a couple of key players will be leaving. Petter Andersson will move back to Sweden, Kristian Back Bak will be new assistant manager and Jim Larsen will stop his career. All 3 has been injured much of the season. Riwal Hassan is still undecided about his future.

Former assistant manager Brian Priske, who was in charge of the famous set pieces, will move to FC Copenhagen as assistant manager to Staale Solbakken. I think that will be quite a loss.

Finally – Daniel O’Shaughnessy got his debut in the final match of the season. He came on as a sub for the final half hour. I don't think he will stay at the club next season.

I'm I correct in assuming that FCM have qualified for the Europa League for this coming season?
