what are they measuring the top 50 club on? Does @rebus need to start a new thread?
I’m guessing something like this ranking. Global Club Soccer Rankings

FCM is currently 89th. We’re 65th. Places 40-50 include Athletic Bilbao, Roma, Lazio, Everton, Villa, Rangers. If FCM is targeting that group it hints at us aiming a bit higher. 30-40 includes West Ham and Leeds. So teams comfortably upper midtable and breaking into top 8.

That this is possible can be seen by Eibar being at 51.

There is a press conference tomorrow, where FC Midtjylland will present a new strategy to 2025.

Now it seems that a new investor will also be presented. Rumour says it is Anders Holch Povlsen, which is the richest man in Denmark. He owns the Bestseller-Group (fx. Jack and Jones), and half of Scotland. He is supposed to invest approximately 18 mio. GBP.

That means that Matthew Benton will not be the sole major investor anymore.

Who is Matthew Benton?

It's actually UEFA's club ranking they mean where they are 112 at the moment.

The most interesting part of all this is that Benham makes room for a new investor by adding new stocks which this new investor purchase all of and gain a 25% stake in FCM. Even more so are that the investor is Anders Holch Povlsen, one of Denmarks most wealthy men with a net worth estimated between 50-70 Billion DDK or 5.7-8 Billion £

It seems most is used on better club, fan, and sponsor facilities to make room for expanding all parts of the club's potentials.

If you think the the name Anders Holch Povlsen sounds familiar, he had figured in the British press as the biggest landowner of Scotland besides the Queen.

The managing director of FC Midtjylland Claus Steinlein referred to the UEFA Club ranking.

Amazing what getting into the Champions League can bring to a Club like FCM.

Celtic/FCM v Malmo/HJK Helsinki, CL 3rd qualifying round draw.

Could be interesting down at the training ground if Celtic and HJK get knocked out.

Poor result for FCM on the opening day of the Danish season though.
Henrik played, but it looks like he was at LB which is a surprise according to flashscores.
Odense scored their injury time winner direct from a corner

According to this, FCM are in "turmoil":
Midtjylland in turmoil: Danes come to Celtic Park a shadow of last season's Champions League team

I mean, it wouldn't be like a Jocko journalist to look to exaggerate something just to get a headline and give despairing football fans the thinnest of straws to clutch at, would it?
Surprising given the last 20 years of Scottish League football they don’t have a better perspective on what a club in turmoil actually looks like.

5 yellows in this game in the first hour. Unfortunately 2 players getting their 2nd yellows of the night. Firstly it was Celtic’s Bitton on 44 mins then FCMs Dreyer on 56. The first yellow of the night was to Henrik, he needs to be careful. Celtic leading 1-0

The first "red" given to Bitton was for his reaction (poking Dreyer in the face) following a dive by Dreyer. This was Bittons 2nd yellow card following one a few minutes earlier. Dreyer also got a yellow card in this incident.
His 2nd yellow was also for a dive.

Celtic played very well and I think the new signing who got their goal (Abada) would have got at least another one but had to be taken off after the sending off. FCM got a goal back against the run of play and will be confident in the return leg. However I think Celtic will score over there, and on last night's performances might just edge the tie.

I hope not! We need FCM on a Champions League proper run to attract new young talent for us to pick over in the future.

Celtic very silly as FCM play for free kicks and surprise surprise they scored from one

FCM has bought two Brazilians from the top league in Brazil. A central defender and a midfielder to replace Onyeka. Both are in quarantine and will be able to play in the second leg. But as they haven't play very much with their new teammates yet, it is not very likely.

All reports praised the goalscorer. The question is whether he had to be the one to sacrificed. Bet the manager regretted it as soon as the second red got waved.

In the last couple of years the prices of clubs in the Superliga has increased massively so foreign investors have bought smaller club in the First Division (second tier) and even in the Second Division instead. A couple of them has been quite peculiar, especially some German investors purchase of Vendsyssel and Naestved.
Today 4 of 12 clubs in the Superliga are owned by foreign investors.
By the way. Matthew Benham is often praised as the proper way to buy a football club, because apart from the money, he brought in knowledge and strategy compined with respect for the people, the fans and the city.
Some of the other owners could learn from that. Not that I hope they will.
