Where's me gold watch ?!?

Chester at home, September 1967. We won 3-1, if memory is correct.

First ever game

1964 age six. I think it was against Walsall. Took to the Bees like a duck to water especially at the start of the 66/67 season (If I can remember) when we murdered QPR 6-1, Oxford 5-1 (with Captain Mel Scott in goal after Brodie was stretchered off) and then were relegated! Lowest point, losing at home to Brill Rovers 5-1.

First ever game

First game was Hammers V Forest at Upton Park in 1975 with my sister who's a mad Hammers fan...I was 7.

First proper game was Bees v Lincoln, March 13th 1976 as an 8th birthday present !!! Bees won 1 - 0, Roger Cross got the goal, Graham "Do I not like that" Taylor was in charge of Lincoln and I stood on a box behind the dug outs for the whole game !!! Hooked ever since...

First ever game

1961/2 ish ). An evening game v a team in yellow. Not sure of the score. My mum got complimentary tickets from Malcolm McDonald for her, Dad me and my older brother. She was working as an assistant secretary for Dennis Piggott at the time. She couldn't stand him and left after less than a year. Dad used to audit the club when he worked for an accountancy firm called Merchants.

Some suggestions;
The Budgies :(
The Butterflies
The Barons
The Wasps :nono:
The Prims
The Flags :grey:
The Strippers
The Midds (Middlesex)

A letter from a W Chapman, from Hayes, said, “why not incorporate a bee on the shirt as Norwich has with the canary.”

First ever game

I don’t think it was my first game but it was an early one that started me on the Brentford journey, it was when Stan Bowles scored direct from a corner, ER:BR one, cannot remember result, date or opposition but if someone can help me out that would be great!

At ease mate, I got the season wrong. I should have remembered we were back to red and white in 1961-62 after a campaign in yellow and blue. What were they thinking?!

First ever game

9th March 1991 Brentford 0 - 4 Stoke City

Got thumped but 8 year old me was hooked on football. Went on and off for a couple of years with 1996-97 my first proper season.

For some reason the penalty conceded at home (Ealing Road end) vs Bury (0-2) sticks out. Maybe it was the moment I came to terms that it wasn’t going to be our year?

I remember that game.

I stayed to the bitter end, as GP emptied, in the vain hope we were going to score 5 goals in the last minute.

Brentford 3-2 Rushden & Diamonds, 20th March 2004. 6 year old me is hooked

Super game that. One of MA's first. 3-0 up at ht with the wind. They pull back to 3-2 in the second half when they had it. MA sent off, when we were struggling to hold on, for booting the ball high into the Braemar Road stand when it went out for a throw to them. What ever happened to them? Super ground.

Yep. Went bust 5 or 6 years ago I think, and that nice little ground they built got demolished last year, shame

First ever game

Brentfird v Torquay

A Tuesday night unde the lights in 1963

John Dicks first game back after breaking a leg.

53 years later, as we come to the end of the Griffin Park era, I still see in my minds eye my Dad standing with me, on the Royal Oak, about 4 roes up from the right hand goal post.

Thanks Dad, I enjoy every minute of it (well maybe nt the loss to Doncaster with "that" penalty)

That is a shame. My wife worked for Northampton Council for a few years and attended a few events at the ground using their conference facilities etc. She was very impressed.

R+D coach arrived late and they had warm-up cut short (not sure if k-o delayed). May have helped us in early stages

First ever game

1962 Brentford 3 Southport 3. Man of the match John Fielding with 2 goals. Only problem was he was playing forSouthport (we signed him later that season). Rescued point with Johnny Brooks penalty

Was that the game when Roger Cross hit a shot like a rocket from about 30 yards out which hit the bar and Barry Salvage hooked it in?

First ever game

Versus Notts County first game of 1963 - 64 season I think, 8 years old went on the 55 with my lovely late older brother. Love at first sight. My team forever.

First ever game

February 1973, I was a football mad Nine year old and had been following Chlesea since they had won the fac cup in 1970 and the success that followed over the next couple of seasons. I had been pestering my Dad over this period time about going to see them, but because he had to work some weekends and travelling to see grandparents it never happened. I think it also had something to do with the fact my dad didn't fancy running the gaunlet in the Shed and also the hassle of travelling from Greenford. So February 1973 a neighbour who had recently been to Griffin Park said about going and Dad agreed. My first game..Port Vale, home, Bees win 5-0, Andy Woon Hatrick, Enough said !!! We were both hooked and spent the rest of my adolescent life hardly missing a home match, and also travelling to local away games. CHEERS Dad for everything as they say " Its all your fault, Its all your fault, its all your fault "
