Coming down, realistically Huddersfield sadly are down so we've got them regardless but be good to welcome back Putney and one of Soton or Brighton so need Cardiff to pull their fingers out..

Going up, love to lose Boro, Sheff Utd and Leeds if we don't make it up and going down Ipswich,(gone) with Rovrum and Bolton to be replaced by Pompey, Charlton and Sunderland although fear Luton are nailed on.

Next season could be far better Southern balance again if all the above happens.

I'd like Brighton and Fulham down with Udders. Both good days out for various reasons. Fulham should be, but Brighton will probably have enough to avoid it just about.

No we need Sunderland as a Bees chaps weekend in Newcastle is a must

Agree the Southern balance needs addressing! I'm just a BOF who loves his live football but isn't a 'chap', as such!

I agree and purely talking from an access and location viewpoint, people far more likely to jump on trains to Putney, Brighton and Pompey to follow us than Rotherham, Bolton and Boro given we've seen enough of all of them for a while

A Southampton win tonight puts the River Rats 10 points adrift with 10 games left.
All aboard Captain Jim’s ship next season for the annual takeover of Putney.

Southampton 1-0 River Rats
Latest score.

The fat lady has just been called to the stage.

2-0 FT.
They’re done.
£100 to charity from me if they fluke it and stay up again.

Just going on the highlights from their game at Southampton and Huddersfield's win over Wolves, Huddersfield were a million times better.

As bad as Fulham have been they were only 7pts off the Saints before last night & 8pts down on Cardiff. I think their failure to put even the meerest meaningful run together over the past 2/3 mths is pretty shoddy. If only they'd had some semblance of a settled side they'd have had every chance of surviving the season, not be in a bun fight with H'field for the wooden spoon. Appointing Ranieri was a massive gamble.

Also presumably a lot of the parachute payments are eaten up by high wages, decreased revenue and paying off sacked managers.

Fulham thread

They will receive two years of parachute payments.....

"The change in rules also dictate that clubs relegated after a single season in the Premier League will only receive 55 per cent and 45 per cent over two seasons with the third payment eliminated entirely.

The revenue from broadcasting can vary, but the three clubs relegated from the top flight for the 2014/15 season – Hull, QPR and Burnley – received £64m split over four years: £24m in the first year, then £19.3m, then £9.6m for each of the next two years."

Ranieri sacked... Replaced by Scott Parker until end of the season..

Compensation packages for coaching teams this season two and counting...another chunk of the parachute money already up in smoke ?

Given that the Khans are trying to take on Vince Mcmahon in Wrestling wonder if they will give up on investing in Fulham.

Either way they are about to lose a sh*t load of cash trying to even compete with WWE so they will be ****ed soon enough!

Big troubles in Putney. Ranieri should have retired after winning league with Leicester.

Fulham thread

I think it's a desperate bid to stay up, if Khan is losing interest, he may not invest much going into next season. Ranieri was a bad and naive choice, but they're down regardless of his firing or not.

They'll get parachute money, and will sell a couple of players (and others loans will end), but they'll have a bit of a rebuilding job on them next season. Mitro should stay though, he seems to genuinely like it there.

Fulham thread

Not sure this increases their chances of staying up - they'd have probably been better off with Big Sam.

Friend of mine is a Leicester fan - he gives Pearson equal credit with Ranieri for the perfect storm of 2015/16 - Ranieri was smart to keep a winning team and style from their great escape. Did very well to keep it going all season but once he tried to impose his own style and sign his own players the following year it was a disaster. Every single player signed in the summer of 2016 (their one-off time to attract players to play for the champions) was gone within 18 months / 2 years.

I'd compare his times at Chelsea and Leicester with Avram Grant - pretty good keeping a decent team going (Chelsea) but not cut out for motivational survivor football (Portsmouth and West Ham). Also he's 67 - how does that fit with the idea of a long-term project??

BTW I wish he hadn't gone there as he seems a lovely bloke and don't want to hold a grudge against him
Didn't think he could go up much more in my estimation, but if he takes Fulham down....

You got me there. Mission nearly accomplished.

Not a chance - he is one of their few valuable assets. Their high-profile signings have mostly all flopped - no club with any sense will pay more than half of what Fulham paid, knowing that fulham HAVE to sell.

The success of these relegation threads continues to astound. 10 points from safety. Fans in mutiny. Now onto their 3rd boss this season, who has no previous managerial experience.

Would have preferred it if they had given him another month myself.

Are they?! lol what silly whoppers they are, no chance of winning that bout.

Apparently this is to deter clubs who get promoted and make no real effort to stay up, but just pocket big money and happily go back down again.

I have a feeling this may have been prompted by Burnley, who twice got promoted and went straight back down again, before finally getting their affairs in order to make a proper go of it this latest time. (The worst example was Blackpool FC, where the Oystons paid themselves millions from their one season in the PL.)

But what's funny about Fulham is, they sploshed £100m in a calculated effort to stay up - and we all know how that's going! lol

What age are you?

"Filth" is a term most reasonable people reserve for gangsters, drug dealers, paedo's, terrorists and the like.

You don't have to like FFC, you can even dislike them intensely, for whatever reason or none.

But in the end, they're just a football club like any other, including BFC.
